I exercise in the early morning and I never eat before. I do 45 minutes of cardio on the arc trainer and then 15-25 minutes weight training and I eat when I'm finished. I don't think it matters, so long as you eat something. Do what your body tells you it needs :)

I was having a similar problem and then restarted and refreshed on 1/1/14. I set my ticker back to zero and since then I've lost 8 lbs. I started measuring everything, I was shocked. What's your activity level like? Do you exercise any, do you have a desk job? I woukd think that MFP is correct if you plugged in your weight and activity.
