Great accomplishment! I shattered my ankle 5 years ago and had doubts that I would ever be able to walk across the street. I am now walking 5K 2-3 times a week, and am starting to incorporate little 2 or 3 minute sprints ,5 or 6 times during my walks. My ankle screams for me to stop but I push on, because I desperately…

5'3" and at the moment 161 lbs. I wear a size 12 jeans but I don't have to even unbutton most of them to get them off. A size 10 is still just a little too snug for comfort though. My goal is to weigh 130 and I suppose a single digit jean size would be great, like an 8!

I agree. I was always taught the same thing. There was a cemetery close to where I lived in Ohio that had some great hills and it was nice and shady. I didn't feel like I was breathing the excessive carbon monoxide by staying on the main roads. I stayed on the road way within the cemetery and if I saw a family name I…

You didn't put this weight on over night and you shouldn't expect to take it off over night either. If you aim for a 1-3 lb. loss per week you will be more likely to KEEP it off. Slow and steady wins the race. Add me as a friend if you want

I am also on a 1200 calorie/day diet as recommended by my doctor. I trust that she will not steer me wrong, and she also said that if I still felt hungry consuming 1200 calories to increase it to 1500. It's working for me!

I remember lying about my age when I was ...uuummmmm lets say 17 & claimed to be 18! Or 19 & had an ID that said I was 21! No weight listed on Fla. driver license either. I was thankful to see that!

Welcome to MFP. It's really not as difficult as you might think, once you get started. You will get much support here from people who are all trying to do the same thing...not necessarily lose weight, but to get healthy and lose weight in the process!

AMEN to that!

MIO. 0 calories, better than carbonated beverages. There are many flavors to choose from and it makes drinking water so much more enjoyable.

I saw the same newscast and that wasn't the only food they mentioned. Be very careful about what the nutrition labels say.

When you really can't resist the urge to eat junk food, drink water. I like to add a little MIO to my drinks to give it some flavor. Try to drink it room temperature and it will help to make you feel full. Remember tomorrow is another day and vow to do better. We all have days like this.

What can I do to reduce the "wings" on my upper arms without building too much muscle in my shoulders? I have access to a small fitness center at the apartments where I live. Thanks

Add me if you want. If you are consistent you may find you enjoy exercising and losing weight. :flowerforyou: Welcome to the club and have fun with it.
