At 47 I found myself 100lbs over weight and very inactive. High cholesterol, suffering from degenerative disc disease, herniated disc in both my back an neck that were getting worse from the weight... I decided that it was time for a change. knew it wasn't going to be easy, that I would probably fail a few times but it…

Oils and butters, etc are 120 calories per Tbsp...a teaspoon, which isn't much would then be 40 calories...1/2 tsp would be 20 calories. Of course the calories count...it's dietary fat..it is the most calorie dense nutrient there is. How much you use would of course determine how much they count.[/quote] ^^ this

depends on why you are restricting your diet, is it for medical reasons? Hard to really give you meal ideas not knowing if you have a medical restriction or just that you feel that those things are considered "bad"... Healthy fats, nuts, avocados, olive oil are usually a staple for me and are higher in calories. I don't…

Not impossible at all... at the age of 48 I started my lifestyle change. I weighed 260lbs I currently weigh 188lbs. I was able to do this in 9 months. I still have 30lbs to go and I know that those will be harder to lose but I will get there. Things that have helped me are logging and tracking my calories daily, meal…

I started at 260lbs... it was almost 30lbs in before anyone even noticed I was losing weight. I knew because I had been taking measurements and transformation pics and well the scale told me so but no one said anything to me until that 30lb loss. I have since loss 70lbs and my stomach still remains an issue. don't get me…

I use to eat like this often, i ate myself to 260lbs and I managed to stay 260lbs for years. I was a couch potato that took comfort in eating suzy q's and a can of pringles in one sitting then eating an hour later because I was hungry. I have degenerative disc disease and several herniated disc in my lower back and neck…

I spend $230-$250 every week... We are a family of 5, I would kill for $100 per person per month :o Now I am sure that if I clipped coupons and went to several different places I could cut that budget down a little but I work full time and my youngest is still in high school and plays sports so time is never on my side so…

Feel free to add me... I am 48, happily married with 3 sons... I started MFP on 11/28/16 at an all time high weight of 260lbs :o :s :( I am currently 188lbs so down 72lbs <3 I have pretty much been on maintenance since the end of August because I was losing my hair. had a bazillion blood test to see what was going on and…

Doesn't matter what diet you choose, in order to lose weight you must be in a calorie deficit.

My goal weight has changed 3 times since I started on 11/28/16. At 260lbs start weight I had set my goal weight at 199lbs... *kitten* I had to lose 61lbs just to get there and honestly I dont' think i thought I would even get that far. As I started losing the weight and got to the 209 mark I change the goal to 185lbs. Now…

I am currently in one and it was making me CRAZY... I have lost 70lbs and then nothing, for weeks on end and now all I have done is gain and lose the same 3-4lbs for about a month. I was getting frustrated and beginning to see old patterns creep in and that scared the crap out of me because i had worked so hard to get to…

stick with it, it will get easier i promise... If you are like me, a creature of habit, and alot of the same things, MFP stores those items so it becomes second nature to log. I have lost 70lbs thus far and was going to go another 20 or so but now I am thinking more like 30-35. I log daily (weekends are spotty as we have a…

Feel free to add me... I had 100lbs to lose, I have managed to lose 70 of it (although I had a huge gain over this past week so now it shows I have lost 65lbs) over the past 8 months. I still have a ways to go til maintenance and may end up lowering my original goal weight (have done that 3 times already, the closer I get…

YES!!! B) <3 The scale is never a true measurement of our efforts. It's actually an evil little *kitten* sometimes... Focus on Health and Fitness and that is all you need!!! Keep on pushing forward every day!

I am starting Whole30 on October 16th... I have been eating healthy for 9 months now lost 70+lbs but having the hardest time trying to get rid of the last 20 or so. A friend of mine recommended this program, not as a way to lose weight, but as a way to reset my focus. I have down loaded a bazillion recipes but them in a…

I find the days that I do not get in enough protein I am ravenous... looking through your diary you are not even close to your protein goals most days. Maybe increase that for a few days and see how it goes... I am big on protein and healthy fats, they are what keep me feeling full and satisfied. Good luck!

This is a helpful post, I am in a month of trying to jog/run. I hate running because I feel awkward and it hurts my ankles and shins and honestly, I can do it for very long... But I LOVE the idea of running, being out doors, free with my thoughts, burning calories and being healthy and in better shape. I was able to jog a…
