Last part first... click FOOD (on the top menu bar), then SETTINGS, then scroll down to DIARY SETTINGS and click on the PUBLIC option. As to the weight... How often are the rare family celebrations, and how much have you actually been averaging over this period? It may be that you have unknowingly put yourself too close to…

Wonder if I've seen you out running??? I'm in Memphis too, and yes it is HOT here, even now. I actually prefer a shirt, so I can wipe sweat off my face with it, but plenty of men around here run shirtless.

The pharmacist doing my pre-diabetes class said to get the Omron. Yes, you do want upper arm. Mine seems to give similar readings to the Drs office. Think this MAY be the one I have, but I got it locally at Kroger, and it was only about $30.…

I'm playing on my phone in between half-@ss sets of curls in the squat rack. Is that acceptable? Think I'll check facebook next. I need 5 more mins before the next set, and there's only 3 people waiting the rack now.

Well, maybe it's time to revisit your calorie goals? You look as if you are at/near goal weight anyway, so maybe you should be eating at closer to or at maintenance? Bottom line is (as far as I can tell) a reasonable calorie deficit should not cause any major side effects. Maybe a wee bit of hunger, but that's about it!

A quick peek at your diary suggests you are eating around 1500 calories a day, which doesn't seem like it would be clinically too low. Too low protein can cause hair loss, but if you are eating around 100g a day, so that's probably not the answer. You haven't logged any exercise - so how much are you burning there? If you…

Wait - it only has 100 mg of broccoli per serving? That is 0.1 g. Or 0.0035274 ounces. That doesn't seem like very much broccoli to me! I cup of chopped raw broccoli seems to be about 100-150 g. So this is around 0.001 cups of broccoli or less. Same for the other veggies - barely any of them in there. It may taste OK, and…

From the label above, Short-Chain Fructooligosaccharides, Sugar, Corn Syrup Solids, Acesulfame Potassium and Sucralose are probably where the actual sweetness is coming from. I think I always found aspartame to have a metalic after-taste, so I never liked diet sodas that used it. (Not that aspartame is in this product).…

Maltodextrin isn't sweet. It adds a creamy, thicker mouthfeel to food. http://www.livestrong.com/article/447600-why-use-maltodextrin-in-food/ But just find a powder you do like. There are plenty of other ones out there that have different ingredients.

Not a hoax. Simply statistics. It's based on large samples, and as such will be fairly accurate for most people. But yeah, if you have high levels of lean body mass it's not going to be accurate for you. More accurate would be to have your % body fat measured correctly.

Some choice quotes in there! I liked: But yeah - pretty much what I've been thinking too. Eat what you want, but don't think your "paleo" diet is truly what humans specifically evolved to eat. Eat all the foodz!

Don't think I've denied one yet! I don't send many out though.

But... Daniel ate this way for 3 years or more, didn't he (Daniel 1)? His second fast (Daniel 10) was only 21 days. Don't you need to do the 3 year one before the 21 day one??? PS - love that the Daniel Fast website is selling a program called the "Daniel Fast for Financial Breakthrough". Yeah, fasting to make money makes…

The title was "NonGMO". GMO = Genetically Modified Organism. Hormones and antibiotics do not genetically modify the cow. Any dairy products you consume - unless you specifically source dairy that does not use hormones and antibiotics - is going to potentially contain traces amounts of these compounds in the milk. Or in the…

Not sure if serious? Whey protein is from milk --- and I'm pretty certain we don't have genetically modified cows, so all whey is going to be non-GMO. And, like breakfast cereal, whey is sold by weight, not volume. So yeah, it settles in the package. It's still cheaper per scoop than a steak (though not as tasty).

Citation, please.

Sugar is a carbohydrate. If you track your carbs, there is usually no need to also worry about sugar.

I hear this diet cures diabetes and cancer too, if you wash the cake down with beer. I am so in!
-
No food should be a "sin". Cut back, moderate, do whatever, but if you love something, find a way to work it in or you'll go crazy! Oh, and beer.

Never had squash or zucchini???

I find that if I get to the pub at 11 am I can normally get a seat at the bar. I don't think that's super early - I've usually had breakfast by then.

Shiner is OK, I guess, as a gateway to truly good beer. But you really need to be looking for some good craft brews in your area to get up to the next level. Forget low cal though. Drink good beer - just make it fit.

By definition synthetic chemicals are not naturally occurring, yes. The rest of that sentence after the comma is not part of that definition though, nor is it strictly correct. As for the second sentence, things like "antibiotics, pesticides, hormones, and steroids" are NOT added during processing. These, if used at all,…

What's too complicated? It's simple: find a program; stick to it. It doesn't have to be time consuming either: find a program that can be done in 30 mins a day, 3 days per week (since that is the time you say you have). And why would you not consider doing it when you appear to be already doing it and are going to spend 6…

Did you find those links using Google?

Yeah - I'm just kidding with you ;-) So where exactly did you read these recommendations? What specifically was the science given as to why processed meat was detrimental to lifting gains? Because, really, it is rubbish. Eat to your calories and macros. Anything else is gravy.
-
And I always thought lifting heavy weights and putting them down again was the #1 key to getting a great body from lifting??? Who knew all I had to do was not eat sandwich meat?
-
What exactly is it about sandwich meat that would prevent one from lifting heavy and seeing amazing results? I don't get it. So yes, I eat it!

Well... it depends on what you really want/expect from your program. Definition is a function of overall body fat % more so that muscle mass per se. If you are above about 15% body fat (for a male), you won't have much definition: your muscles might be there, but they'll be covered by a layer of fat. So - if you continue…
