Hi everyone! I'm in my upper 40s and have found "the struggle". Looking for friends that are motivated and motivating! I will, in turn, help encourage and motivate you.

I am thrilled to say I can bench 155. Took a while to work-up to it :)

I started the weight loss journey by doing c25k. After an injury that set my running to "not happening", I have tendinosis. I got into weight training. From the point of running and HIIT time to now, I am about 20 lbs heavier. I wear the same size clothes, but look better in them  I quit worrying about my weight so…

Good Morning Everyone! I need some friends on here closer to my age. Anyone willing? I would love to find people that are active on a regular basis. I don't care if you are into running or weight lifting. Whatever works for you!!

I am definitely hoping to be healthier by 50! I hit 40 and thought "I can't believe I look like this!". Mine journey started back then. I have lost over 50 lbs and am not hitting the weights and get to where I want to be!

I set my goals before I understood how much weights REALLY weigh. I wanted to back squat more than my body weight, deadlift more than my body weight, pullups, chinups and bench press 155 lbs. I have killed all except the bench press. Still working toward that goal. Have made it to 145 lbs.

You can do the squats today. Modify if you are sore. Break the 75 down into smaller groups so you can manage. I have never had my calves sore from squats. It almost sounds as though you are not putting your butt back far enough and leaving the front of your legs and calves doing the majority of the work. Squats are about…

I have a personal trainer that I see 2-3 times a week for an hour each time. I pay $52/hour. Absolutely worth it!:)

5'9" SW 232 CW 191 goal is 26% body fat. Weight doesn't make me look fat, but the fat does!

I like the C4, great flavors you can actually enjoy. It does give me the energy to make it through the longer workouts. I don't drink any type of caffeine (no coffee, tea or soda). The C4 is more than enough to get me through the workout and I haven't experienced any crash after the fact! Edited to add that there are some…

I have been working with a trainer for over two years. I started with one trainer and then switched to another as my goals shifted. I can honestly say that I would not be anywhere near where I am now. I meet with her 2x week. I have had several injuries (none from the gym) in the last two years. She has been able to keep…

Today is all about legs. Squat, press, lunges and many many more!

I started with bare bar to get the form down right. I work with a trainer. I now squat almost 200 lbs. It took me about a year but during that time I had to take time out for stress fractures in the foot. I am sure you can get there faster if you don't have to take 3 months out!

I am 43 yrs old and I know what you mean about things changing. When I decided to "get in shape" I was doing cardio. About a year ago I hit a plateau and nothing was changing. I started weight training about 6 months ago. I train 3 days a week with weight and cardio 3x a week, alternating. I have since put on 10 lbs and…

I work with a trainer and we have found that my body responds to opposing muscle super sets. 3x a week targeted areas. I do cardio workout on non-lifting days, lite jogging, walking or cycling; assuming I am not too tired or sore.
-
LOL...I still wonder that about my trainer. I have been training for about 21 months on a 2/3 schedule. I have yet to figure out how she manage to put together a session that makes me feel amazing while doing it and sore as can be the 1-2 days later!
-
It also depends on your workout/life style. If you do weight lifting, assuming a diet designed for fat loss and muscle retention and gain, you can have a lower bf% at the same weight as someone who that just weighs that amount without weight training. Also at the same time, remember those pictures have probably been photo…

I do weight training 3x a week and hiit twice a week. LOL...I like weight training better! Add me if you would like!

It is hard to start changing your lifestyle. I promise it does get easier over time. I can suggest making sure you get protein in your food intake to make it a little less difficult. If you like veggies, use those for your snacks as you get a lot of bank for your calorie buck if you nutrient dense low cal foods. If you…

Boot camps can be very challenging! I do a boot camp weekly and there are times that I still have to take a break. The best advice I have for people just joining in a boot camp session is don't try to keep up with everyone else. You do what you can at the place you can handle. Don't slack off but don't push yourself so…

I come in at 5'9". My original goal was around the 150 mark. Since I began, I have changed where I want to be. Now my goal is probably 160-170. But my main goal is no longer about weight but is about my body fat %. I started weight lifting and am smaller now after gaining 10 lbs back than I was when I was just loosing…

I am over 40, I don't have 40 to lose anymore. Since I joined here, I have dropped over 40 and still 10-15 to go. You can do this. Add me as a friend if you would like!
-
Worst thing about stepping into a healthier lifestyle is my husband not joining me on this journey.
-
This is such an inspiration! Thank you for posting!

Welcome! It sounds like you have a great support network with your husband and friends. You will find a lot of support on here also. You sound like you are ready for the change and are going for it! If you want another friend on here, I'll send a friend request. Support is very helpful and motivating when needed.

5'9" here. I started stared last February (had joined before that but never did anything with it) and never put my true starting weight as I was too embarrassed to admit to anyone. SW was 213 CW is 171 and I am looking at 160 for a weight, I'll decide when I get there if I want to go lower. I am making this a life style…
