  • Get rid of it and stop taking it! Please trust me on this, phentermine is the worst obesity drug out on the market right now and I know this because I do research for a big pharmaceutical company and I specifically do research on type 2 diabetes and obesity... Phentermine is dangerous because it will get to your brain and…
  • here's another article http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16948480
  • thanks yeah I have been portioning it out throughout the day. Thank you!
  • Just a general thought towards others who are using shred, you can't just rely on shred to lose the weight and inches. everyone is different and yes you can't get a good workout in only 20 minutes. You have to top it off with other cardio and strengthening workouts. I am only burning about 100 calories doing shred but I…
  • you can mix it with whole wheat pasta or spaghetti noodles with olive oil, diced garlic and lemon juice. with some steamed veggies on the side. I love this easy recipe and it's filling.
  • I"m not actually a health care professional but I do research for a pharmaceutical company and we target type 2 diabetes and obesity. I myself was very close to having an obese BMI and decided to change my lifestyle. it took me 2 years before i decided to do it. With things I see everyday and my scientific knowledge behind…
  • I know exactly how you feel. I have been working out like crazy for months (and this was all vigourous workouts!) and saw very slow weight loss but now that I have cut my diet I'm seeing the weight loss a little faster. I am not going to weigh myself for about 3 weeks though because of TOM, but even when you hit a plateau…
  • I am also on day 8 today and doing a 10 day per level regimen. I have only lost only about 1/2 an inch but I feel great. But 30 day shred is just a small part of my exercise regimen, I add on other cardio workouts for more than an hour and some yoga on top of shred. I think that you'll get the best results that way. Good…
  • That's why I am so frustrated I've worked out all 7 days this week and most of it was cardio and I even frustrated my knee and I ate right this week including eating back only half of my earned exercise calories and still a weight gain.
  • on the posts here theres a debate...some say if you want to lose weight you shouldn't eat back the earned calories others say if you don't eat back at least some of the calories your body can go to starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. But in reality it's a misconception...your body can go into starvation mode but…
  • So you're saying I've been wrong to try to eat back at least half of my exercise calories? Sometimes I'm too full to eat it but other times I eat something.
  • i have a rule and actually it's pretty good rule. If the symptoms are above the shoulders then you can work out and the exercise will actually make you feel better and lessen the symptoms, if it is below the shoulders like in your chest then you need to rest. (by the way this was medical advice given to me...) Good luck!

  • after work i'm going to get the 30 day shred dvd, then do my first day today. after that I will be going to a Yoga class and then after Yoga it's Zumba time!
  • oh man i love chocolate..but it's ok to treat yourself once in a while, I'll buy fiber bars with chocolate in it so you don't have to completely cut out the good stuff. Just remember portion control... Oh and don't skip a meal very bad for your metabolism!
  • Thanks everyone that's a lot of help. I'm going to pick it up after work today, but I'm going to just add it on to my routine. I'll start tomorrow and put an update!
  • I have PCOS and it is hard to lose weight but it is going down and I refuse to let it define my health. I think she was just trying to motivate her and just help her realize that she can cry now but tomorrow morning she has to pick herself up and move forward, thyroid issues/insulin resistance or not, it can be fixed.
  • I think it depends on if you're a man or woman...For women when they do strength training they're goal is to tone up not really build it whereas for men most of them want to build their muscles. With that said I've been told that doing cardio before a workout will help you burn fat more during weight lifting since your…
  • avoid the scale that week you'll ust get disappointed
  • lots of cardio...you have to burn the fat that's in the stomach first so that your muscles can show. Doing crunches and abdominal exercises build muscle there but it does nothing for the fat there. Fat just doesn't turn into muscle so burning it off first will help a ton. Plus running helps build ab muscles anyway so you…
  • Thanks everyone for the encouragement, I really needed it! I weighed myself this morning just so that I can get more motivated and I actually lost a lb since saturday. It feels pretty good but now I know that it's ok to slip up once in a while at least i'm eating bad food in moderation rather than everynight like I used to!
  • what are you talking about! that is a big difference!!! Congrats I can't wait until I can post pics up!
  • I get obsessed and have to tell myself not to weigh myself everyday. I suggest not to do that since weight flunctuates depending on water retention. But it's better to have one to keep your tracking consistent and weigh yourself at the same time when you do weigh ins. Good luck!
  • I've lost 12 lbs and my pants are falling off, but so far only one person has actually said that i look like i'm losing weight and i was so happy. She also hasn't seen me in a few months so that helps. Most people (including yourself) see you everyday so you can't really see a change. It's your perception of your body that…
  • I LOVE ZUMBA! Its in my exercise schedule twice a week. I used to dance so I get the choreography a lot faster than most but even if you don't get it first off just move your body and shake your hips...you're still losing calories! I have always been more active and athletic so I can only burn like 500 calories max doing…
  • Don't you hate that feeling....that's my motivation. I felt like that for a while and I hated how I acted and how I felt so I decided to do something about it. I'm happier these days...don't put yourself down, slowly you will get into it and when you do you'll feel GREAT!
  • MFP advices that you eat back at least half of your exercise calories, which looks like you might have. If you're not hungry I wouldn't worry about. Just listen to your body. They say not to do this all the time because your body can go into "starvation mode" and actually lower your metabolism possibly halting the weight…
  • i barely eat cereal and when i do I measure...i eat oatmeal instead...gotten used to it now!
  • hahah I used to do that when I was growing up...mainly in high school when my mom didn't want to invest in good sports bras, but now I can afford pretty good sports bras and it's handled...but yeah sometimes they'll hurt and I really don't want them to start sagging...
  • Thanks everyone! I did go..last night I just went to bed and this morning I read all your posts as I was staring at the sweets. Yesterday wasn't a gym day for me because I had work and class until 9:30, but today is and depending on how my day goes with food and the gym maybe I will treat myself to half a cupcake!
  • I'm a 36E and I've only lost 12 lbs but they actually look even bigger since my stomach is getting smaller. I'm hoping that the boobs will be the last place to lose it....I'm scared I will lose mine but a full D or small D will be fine with me!
