  • From what study I've done, it sounds like the body sheds fat from the head and toes inward. That's why many times you'll notice in your face/neck and your legs/arms and that's why it takes forever to lose the belly. The body is looking to hold onto fat around your vital organs.
  • I agree with Jillian Michaels being a great choice, but for me it was Tennis. I loved the action and the competition of tennis and what a workout! I burn over 1,000 calories every time I play and it's loads of fun. Plus city or school tennis courts are open to the public for free, so that's a definite plus. Swimming is…
  • I use cashews or flavored almonds. I also recently discovered "dairy-free" chocolate chips. They're expensive, but 1/8 cup of them satisfies my sweet tooth.
  • Mainly anything with added sugar. But the main thing is the mindset - I'm not "living to eat" anymore; I'm "eating to live"

  • The only thing that I can add to the other great suggestions is to watch your sugar. It's great to watch calories, but it's easy to stay within your calorie limit but overeat sugars. Sugars (like in breads, snacks, fruits) don't burn in your body as naturally as proteins (nuts, beans, eggs). Try eating more proteins and…
  • Here's my understanding: I'm 295 and my BMR is 2445. That comes out to 17,115 calories that I burn per week if I don't do anything else. My goal is to exercise 4 times a week and I burn around 1,500 calories per workout. So between my BMR and my exercise, I am burning 23,115 calories per week. From what I am reading, 3,500…
  • I'm a volunteer youth pastor with a full time desk job (that doesn't burn many calories). I've decided that if I'm going to be an example for people around me, it only makes sense for me to take care of the Temple that God gave me for Him to live in. We tend to take care of the church buildings that we meet in on Sundays…
  • I understand what some people say about breakfast, but personally I simply disagree with it. When I have a good breakfast, I feel better, my metabolism gets going, and I feel better overall. Given - a "good" breakfast is NOT a pop tart and a bowl of Lucky Charms. This morning I had a protein shake, 3 eggs, and 2 pieces of…
  • If you're drinking diet sodas, they don't have any calories but they will make you retain water. That would hurt your weight loss. Also even if your calories are low, what about your sugars? Sugars don't burn naturally in your system and even if your calories are low enough, the sugars won't break down into a weight loss.…

  • I only post water; you can post water you'd like, of course, but to me the point of keeping track of my water is to make sure that I'm putting more "pure" water in my system instead of other things - gatorade, coffee, tea, etc. Given that most drinks have water in them; you could even count some foods. But for me to keep…
