  • Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your interest in the competition! We are at capacity now and can't accept any more new members. We'll be on the lookout for new member s I'm season 9, so keep your eyes open in 8 weeks. :)
  • I'm not much of a runner, but you should check out Target for decently priced warm winter clothes. Try to find running tights and a shirt that are lined with a thin layer of fleece--it'll keep you warm. Also, look into Yaktrax--they slip on over your regular shoes for questionable road conditions. Good luck!
  • I had sort of the same thing. I didn't really notice a difference in myself until I had lost about 25lbs, even though I was taking measurements and pictures. Like someone else mentioned, it might be the case that you're tall enough that you have to lose a little more to notice it. I will say, though, that once I noticed it…
  • It's definitely not weird at all. For me, there's a difference between a comment like, "You look really good, have you lost weight?" To which I can reply, "Yes, I have-thank you!" and what my family does, which is interrogate me about how many pounds I've lost and then announce the number to random strangers...awkward and…
  • I just saw this...but I'm totally doing it! I weigh about 217 right now...so about 109 ounces...and that's 14 glasses of water a day (rounding up!). so far I'm doing great! I tend to drink at least 18 glasses a day, so I think I'm good!
  • That is so awesome! Congratulations on your progress so far!
  • This! I am right there with you. I have not been doing a great job eating good foods. I do ok staying within my calories, but I've found myself just starving lately...and that's because 1500 calories of junk is not nearly as filling as 1500 calories of good food...so I'm hitting the grocery store on my way home tonight and…
  • Not a great week for me last week, between coming off an indulgent St. Patty's Day Weekend and then getting sick. Sigh. Ready to get back to it this week though!
  • You absolutely can do it. I started C25k in December at 235 lbs. Last weekend, I ran my first 5k in 36:56 at 217. You will get there. It is hard, but it is worth it! Keep pushing through. You'll be amazed at what your body can do if you force it. :)
  • AWESOME!!!!
  • Thanks, ladies!!! It did feel amazing! I'm still battling some chest congestion from the cold I got pretty much right after I finished running, so I haven't been able to push it hard this week, but fingers crossed for run tomorrow morning! :)
  • I love this idea! I already know what my goal will be...because I've said forever that as soon as I reach Onederland, I will chop my hair off. I LOVE short hair, but haven't been confident enough for it in years.
  • Hi everyone!! I'm so excited to be back in this challenge! I am so ready to get back on track. I recently moved and since then I just have been struggling with the same 5lbs over and over...so I'm ready to make a change! My goal for this challenge will be to FINALLY be in Onederland...so about 17lbs. I know that's a…
  • Yay! I'm a little late, as I had a crazy weekend and then was sick, but I'm so excited to be back for this longer challenge! Looking forward to getting to know everyone better!
  • Looking forward to the Memorial Day Challenge! I think I will be close to my goal. After my gain last week, I need to lose 2.2lbs this week...and if I'm being honest, I didn't have a great weekend after that gain...so we will see. I'm being good and working hard this week and I'm going to be ok with whatever happens. I…
  • Grrr...had a gain this week. Sigh. I feel like I've been up and down so much in the past few weeks; it's starting to get depressing. Gonna try to keep my head up and keep going.
  • I can probably help moderate or do whatever you need help with for the Memorial Day challenge.
  • I think Memorial Day would be good! Then we could extend it to the 4th if everyone wanted! :)
  • Awesome! I was dealing with the same thing until the last couple of weeks, so I know how frustrating it can be!
  • Great work!
  • Feeling good! 13 days until my first 5k. It's finally starting to warm up a little and I'm ready to run outside tonight! My goal is to run every day this week...we shall see.
  • Thank you!!
  • I could hardly believe the scale this morning: SW: 222.4 W1: 220.2 W2: 216.4!!!! I am officially in the two-teens! This is actually the lowest weight I've been at since I started weighing myself at 19. I've been smaller, but I have no real frame of reference for it since I didn't weigh myself as a teenager...so this is all…
  • Ok...Body Combat Report: Holy Crap...what a workout! It's a 60-minute class and I was exhausted by minute 10. My HRM said I burned 654 calories in the 50 minutes I was there (I skipped out of the 10-minute conditioning session so I could get to work on time). So ready to go back!
  • Hahaha...whatever. ;) I'm glad you're here. :)
  • That friend of yours must be pretty awesome.
  • Well, crap. My phone died sometime in the middle of the night last night. It was plugged into the charger, but the charger wasn't plugged into the wall. Grrr. That means my alarm didn't go off, and I missed Body Combat!!! GRRRRR. There's a class on Saturday morning that I'll go to instead. I'll miss the mini challenge…
  • I feel the same about the 220s...I just want to see a "21-" there! We can do this! :)
  • I am going to try out a new class at the gym. I've been wanting to try Body Combat on Thursday mornings for awhile now...and this is just the push I need!
  • Week 1 was good for me...I managed to lose 2 lbs, so I was pretty excited about that. I'd been gaining and losing the same pound for about three weeks, so I was relieved to see some real movement on the scales! Hoping for another solid loss this week to really feel like I'm back on track! :)
