Oh, and I like low fat cream cheese on oatcakes. Or mixed into pasta to make a not too calorific creamy sauce.

Brilliant! So all I have to do to negate that big slice of chocolate cake is drink 50 cups of water, right?

Did you get chance to do a new graph Helen? (I love a good graph  )

Well done! 38lbs in 3 months is showing the rest of us Christmas weight loss group members up though

I have the opposite - my band size has gone down by 4" but my cup size has gone up from a D to an E.

Thanks, this is definitely worth knowing. I have a large frame - UK size 9 feet, bigger wrists than my husband and shoulders a rugby player would be proud of. I don't yet know what weight will look "right" on me as I am still using, but have set my initial goal as the top end of my BMI, which is 154lbs. This calculator…

Altogether I have lost 38lbs in just under 6 months. I lost the first 14lbs before joining MFP in August, and have lost another 24lbs since joining.

Swimming and cycling are my favourite exercises. Yes, I think they do work - mainly because I enjoy them and so am enthusiastic to keep doing them several times a week!
-
I get this - so many people have asked me how I've lost weight and then look really puzzled when I say "Eat less and move more". Then there are the people who think you can only lose weight if you join Weight Watchers/Slimming World etc and don't understand that you can do it without them. Then when people ask you how long…

A lot depends on what the cut of beef is and how much fat it in it. For example lean steak has fewer calories than mince or stewing beef. Also a lot of Stir Fry sauces are high in sodium and sugar, so if that is something you worry about then you need to check the labels. I make my own sweet and sour using soy sauce,…

Yes! I have lost 38lbs and gone from a UK size 20 to a UK size 14. Obviously I still have a way to go, but I feel just as fat as I did when I started. I can't even see it in photos as I dressed to hide the fat when I was big and so I can't see the change when I look at photos now. Although I can try my old clothes on and…

I do exactly that - I have a stationary bike and watch DVDs while exercising. I have 3 children and a job too, and finding time to exercise can be really difficult! I get up at 6am most mornings to do something (either the bike or a workout DVD). The only thing that I go out to do is swimming, and I usually take at least…

Thanks  I think my technique is OK, or at least improving, as I have weekly swimming coaching sessions. I hadn't thought of being dehydrated though, it doesn't occur to me to drink more when I'm already surrounded by water! I'll try bananas too, I remember my midwife suggesting that when I got leg cramps when I was…

I prefer yoga, but I think it is because I have been doing it for longer. I also like the way it relaxes me. Your best bet is to try both and see which works best for you.

I do 10 miles in 45 minutes at moderate resistance on mine. On a real bike I don't cycle that fast, I do around 10mph on average. But on my stationary bike I don't have to negotiate other traffic, junctions and hills!

I walk to work and back every day (2-3 miles depending on the route, takes 40-60 mins a day). I swim for 30 mins once or twice a week. I go on my exercise bike 2-3 times a week (I aim to do 10 miles in 45 mins each time). I do 30-45 mins of yoga a couple of times a week. At the weekend I try to either do a bike ride…
