My local Race for Life is only 5k, but there are distance markers along the way so you know how far you have run and how far you have left to go. The route was explained to us during the warm up event, presumably they will be quite clear to explain where there are two different race distances. I also had a chat with one of…

I find the opposite - if I stick to the same meals I don't have to think about what I'm eating and cravings don't bother me. I do get fed up of eating the same things eventually, but I can go for weeks on just a handful of different meals.

Only yesterday one of my colleagues told me I was "so lucky" because the weight just "fell off" me. Yup, that's right, 65lbs just fell off with no effort at all <rolls eyes>. She is apparently giving up Weight Watchers and trying Slimming World instead as she isn't losing. I'm not sure she understands that you have to do…

I eat pretty much the same thing for breakfast every day - porridge with blueberries in the winter, granola with yoghurt and banana in summer. For lunch I often eat leftovers from the night before. Quite boring, but it works for me.

My first goal was 12st (168lbs) because I couldn't imagine weighing any less than that. I weighed 13st (182lbs) before having my three children, so I thought a stone less than that would be a pretty ambitious goal when I was starting at 15st (210lbs). I reached that goal last November, and straight away set a new one. The…

I know I go stuck at size 14/ 12st for a while, but I think it was sort of psychological as that was the size and weight I had hoped to get down to when I started. I just don't think I believed I could go lower. I maintained at that weight for a couple of months, then stepped things back up again and have now lost another…

I usually pre-log. I do my grocery shopping every Sunday and I meal plan for the week before I go, so it is easy for me to pre-log my lunches and dinners for he week ahead. I usually eat the same thing for breakfast so I just copy that from day to day, and then I add in snacks as I eat them. It definitely helps me stick…

Hi there! I am 5'6" and my SW was 210lbs roughly 12 months ago. I now weigh 147lbs and am aiming for 140lbs. I started at a UK size 20 (US16) with a 40" waist, I am now a UK12 (US8) with a 30" waist. I eat around 1500 calories a day, and try to make sure what I eat is healthy (lots of fruit and veg, wholemeal bread and…

Because I really, really wanted it. I was fed up of being fat and unfit, and realised that only I could change that. So I did.
