Hard to believe they could be worse than i think...never had a sandwich or wrap from Subway that was worth its calories....

Two weeks ago I went to the city with my husband and just kind of ate the old way--easily got to 3600. That's why the first 25 pounds I lost was completely due to dietary changes...probably not enough time in a day to burn off what I could eat in twenty minutes...potato chips, dip, fries, pizza....shudder.....

I don't 'like' exercise, but by 'gamifying' it with a Fitbit (getting badges for steps/stairs, etc.) I was motivated to do it. Now I find that I am kind of uncomfortable when I sit too long--my body wants me to get up and go.

I like to buy packages of 9 boneless skinless chicken thighs and bake them with lemon pepper seasoning--that's great protein for three lunches. Often on Sundays I make carrot lentil stew or throw chickpeas, black beans, canned tomatoes and chicken stock into a pot with whatever seasonings catch my fancy that week and…

Uhm...my daughter just turned 18, so....I would say this is my opportunity to be a horrible warning instead of a good example! Way to take care of things now!

I bet the first five pounds I lost was because I stopped adding cream...but I will never quit the coffee! I grind my Kicking Horse Kick *kitten* Organic beans every morning for my percolator and drink 6 - 8 cups. Coffee apparently has a lot of antioxidants, too. Don't care whether that's true, just a bonus if it is.…

Way to go!

My husband is very picky--now in his mid-40's, he suddenly discovered that he likes strawberry & spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette as well as Caesar salad. I think the Caesar salad dressing was like a 'gateway drug' to adding some greens to his very white/yellow (potatoes, corn, mushrooms) repertoire. Maybe it will…

You're so inspiring! Thank you!

Photos and measurements--but I personally do it monthly, not weekly, so the differences are more noticeable and more motivating. If you are walking or running or lifting, keep track of times/distance/reps...

Whole wheat couscous--can't get easier than pouring some boiling water over that and waiting for five minutes! Even better, using chicken stock made from the carcass of a rotisserie chicken--great flavor and stretches our dollars! :)

Preparing big batches of soups/stews for the rest of the week can be a great activity with the kids, depending on their ages--learning how to measure ingredients, like a cup of lentils, or pouring in a can of beans, even just stirring the pot. I know that sometimes it is about perceived exertion--it feels a lot harder to…

So inspiring! Thanks for sharing your experience!

coleslaw with full fat creamy dressing :)

"More mean" no. "Meaner" yes. As in writing this post to point out an improper use of a comparative.

No one is born with habits...even if we are 'creatures of habit', we can change our habits. Empower yourself with the knowledge that you are in control of the choices you make within your given circumstances. One step at a time and you will make the choices that will get you to what you want.

sauté a clove of garlic, one small onion, three or four mushrooms, slices of bell peppers and tomato....whisk two eggs and plop them on top of the veggies, then sprinkle feta cheese and a teaspoon or so of herbes de Provence....finish in the oven or just cover with a pot lid so that the eggs are cooked through...so…

Food scale, Fitbit, treadmill and understanding that this is a lifestyle change that will enable me to sit comfortably on a plane to travel. :)

I feel that I still look pregnant after a 29 pound loss--but my waist has gone from 52 inches last August to 46 1/4 inches last Monday. Operate at a deficit and the fat loss will happen...we can't really do anything to lose in a specific place first...but hang in and it will happen.

I've had my fitbit one since December 11th and I love it. It gamifies movement for me--I like the corny badges and competing with myself. It made me realize how sedentary I am and I went from an average of about three thousand steps a day to about 6500. Its altimeter doesn't always measure stairs correctly--but I crouch at…

Giving up giving up. Too lazy to keep carrying all the fruits of affluenza. :)

Small portions of only the items that can't be replicated anywhere else. Eat slowly and savour the special tastes--and enjoy the company and conversation over the food.

An apple, or Cole slaw or romaine salad, with some sliced tomatoes...something that I can eat huge amounts of....but at the same time, i use full fat salad dressing. More satisfying and good for the fat-soluble vitamins. I got fat eating supersized portions of food and learning that I should finish eating before I feel…

I sprinkle them with lemon pepper and bake them. Cook 8 or 9 at a time and have my lunch protein for three or four days.

Considering your history around reproduction, seeing a doctor about changes in menstruation might be the best idea.

Treat the boredom: read, knit, quilt, walk, clean, volunteer, write, take an art class, pottery, stained glass, draw, phone a friend, play board/card games with family or friends, get involved in an adopt a highway program...

Heredity and/or environment: what's a 5 year old to do?

Just for consideration....Did the weight you lost on WW come back or stay off and you're proceeding from there? Because if it came back, obviously a fast first month weight loss wasn't a sign of ultimate success. Perhaps this time around, 3 pounds in 25 days, IS.
