THANK YOU!!!!!!! I went to Sports Authority, and the Polar F6 was on sale for $99.99 plus the coupon for $25 off (I had to buy some candy to make it over $100 - but I didn't eat it:happy:) that put the HRM at $75!! I bought it, but I'm giving it to my hubby to give back to me on Christmas. The coupon is good until…

Hey sjessup and ashaver! WELCOME to our group. Thank you for introducing yourselves. It's nice to meet you. Are you gals ready for our first weigh-in tomorrow???? We're pretty excited to get this party started. Susan

I'm so sorry to hear about the end of Santa for your oldest. My teacher, a nun, at school told me in 2nd grade, since she was emphasizing the birth of Jesus. My mom was so angry at her! Go Mom! I remember it vividly, so it must have been traumatic for me. Just so you know, I'm okay with it now.

Welcome Kimberly, Pammer & vdpal!! I can already tell that this is going to be a great group! Thanks for all of the great information about the HRM. I have a Sports Authority right down the street, so I will check it out. Thanks!! About posting tomorrow: I suggest that we keep the focus on these four weeks. Our start…

Cryslynn, I was thinking of getting one, too. The Polar website lists the F6 for $120. Do you know if it is less expensive somewhere else? And is the chest strap uncomfortable? Susan

Shelly, Welcome! :flowerforyou: You are doing great so far (based on your ticker) and you're so close to "onederland". This is a really positive group, so it can't help but help motivate you. I wish you luck! You can do it, and I hope we can help you, just as you can help us.:flowerforyou: Susan

I agree, gymnast, that those smaller portions can add up! I just make sure I don't have any more around for that second (or third) helping. I hope your 2 cheat meals will work for you.

There's a Low-Carbers group in the Motivation & Support section. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/71368-low-carb-ers-challenge-part-7-welcome-all

I agree with Jessica. It depends on your personality. I tried it, and it didn't work for me in the long run. Instead, I try to incorporate any cravings into my daily calories (in smaller portions), so I don't feel deprived. My advice to you: try it and see if it works for you. If it's too hard to get back on track, stop…

Thanks, Verda. I'll call on that serene setting when I need a little peace and quiet in my mind.

Congratulations, Cathy! You must be so relieved. Best of luck to you in your new career! Susan

Bluenote :flowerforyou: You sure CAN join! Welcome to you.:flowerforyou: Congratulations on the 26 pounds so far! Tell us more. I'm on the west coast, so, like you, I would have to post my challenge in the evening. I think that's a great suggestion. Thanks! Susan

:flowerforyou: Fab Fours: What do you think about us taking turns posting a daily challenge? It could be diet, exercise, behavior related, etc. that we would all try to accomplish on the one day that it was posted. Some ideas for daily challenges (we wouldn't do ALL of these on the same day) : drink 8 glasses of…

Michelle, I admire your love of running. Do you have a running partner? Where is your marathon in the spring? My youngest daughter's boyfriend finished third for his age group in the 2009 Portland Marathon! He has qualified for the 2010 Boston Marathon twice this year, and I sure wish he'd go. I'm proud of him.

I just returned from snowshoeing with my husband. We hiked to a lake where we camp during the summer. Today, it was frozen over, with a layer of snow on top of it, and it was perfectly silent on a bright, sunny day. What a beautiful sight. The hike was a great workout (I'm sore). I'll post a photo. Susan

PDX, I'm sorry to hear about your stress. I hope things are better for you soon. Vegas is pretty amazing. Everyone should experience it, at some time in their life. My girls had a few soccer tournaments there, and at one time it really cleaned up its act on the strip (no card flickers, etc). Unfortunately, it's back to how…

Hi Tamm, The Beck diet sounds intriguing. Is that the one that includes cognitive therapy in dieting techniques? If so, can you share a few ideas that you've learned? Susan

Tamara, that is great news. I hope you're healed soon. Cryslynn, it seems like dental hygienists can always get work, and can name their own hours. That sounds like a perfect fit for a family. Best of luck to you. Well, I found Jillian Michael's Shred on our cable channel, and I did it while my granddaughter was napping. I…
