I don't. I weigh daily so there's a bit of bouncing around . I would log a gain if it lasted for more than three days but so far that hasn't happened. (And I am hoping it won't.)

But it still makes me feel better especially if I am going through a spell where I am not showing much change on the scales. And what is this nonsense about an inch off my hips and an inch off my butt is still only one inch of fat?! I hate it when people get all scientific and logical about things like this. I'd suggest…

Definitely. Your silouette is slimmer through the waist area. Also it may be the different lighting but I think the pants are hanging better. Keep up the good work.

Another issue for many is storage capacity. We are able to take advantage of many specials because we can buy in bulk or cash in on the two for one deals often offered by grocery stores. If we did not have a deep freeze and good cupboard space our choices would be more limited. I store "deals" that my friend finds but…

Have you tried walking faster/slower intervals?

I think it is made of ground up fossils. Used to sprinkle it around my hostas to discourage the slugs.

You won't find it in Hong Kong or Bejing either. It is an American dish or at least that is what Wikipedia has to say on the subject. While we are talking about Chinese food, my daughter moved to Pittsburgh from Vancouver, Canada where we have a very large Chinese population and a ton of ethnic restaurants. She got a…

A bloody Mary is made with tomato juice. A caesar is made with clamato...a whole different taste. Oops! I see someone else has just said that. I wish I could delete but they will only let me edit.

Welcome. I snuck a peak at your profile and smiled when I saw that you had written, "I want to have good stats and be proud of myself when I go see the doc." I share that feeling. I view my annual check-up as sort of my report card for the year. My smarty pants of a sister has a lot of weight related health issues and…

Looks like a ten to me and if I didn't think that I would not post at all. Is it a geographical problem? There are places where the ratio of men to women really work against you.

The days I looked at were low cal days and looked pretty good. What I am wondering is if you might be underestimating portion size. If you are not already measuring and weighing your food you might want to give it a try. Good luck. I know this must be incredibly frustrating for you.

I sync mine on the fitbit page and then it happens here automatically. If I am not logged into www.fitbit.com I cannot sync on MFP.

Dress slacks I went to put on this morning were too big in the waist.

Thanks for your thoughtful responses. Makes me feel better. And yes I do spend some time doing strength training. It shows on the inches if not on the scales.

This is a different question totally unrelated to yours but fits under the heading so I thought I might butt in. Is your calorie burn directly related to your heart rate? I am totally dependent on a cardiac pace maker....so dependent that it classifies as artificial life support. But heh! It works really well I usually…

Would it be inappropriate for an old lady to say she LOVES your sexy cheek bones?

Wow. I could get emotional about this. Pardon me while I vent. How can you stay motivated? You are only 44. You know that your extra weight is not good for your health but the consequences are years away. But they will come. Think you will just die of a heart attack? Not everyone is so lucky. My husband is obese and has…

Where did your tummy go? You look great.

I went back three weeks and found I averaged 4524 a week. I spent an average of 838 minutes a week exercising. That is almost two hours a day. I always suffer from calorie burn envy when I see one of my friends post a 500+ burn in an hour.

I have been on MFP for two months too and I have lost 7 lbs. When I was younger I would lose 2 lbs a week on a 1200 calorie diet. Even at 60 I could count on 6lbs a month. So the rate of weight loss has been disappointing but I am starting to notice a difference. As you say, pants a little looser. Also I had put the last…

Don't feel limited to choosing from the menu. It took me years to discover that if I asked for half a grapefruit, a soft poached egg and one slice of multi grain toast they would provide it.

LW 103 HW - 152 CW 140 GW 130 I find it interesting in reading the responses to this question to see how many of us have a very large gap between our highest and lowest weight. I am like many of you in that at my lowest weight (at 35) I was definitely too thin.

My sister has slim legs and hips and carries all her weight on her abdomen. She has lovely skin and when she was 55 a co-worker asked her if she was pregnant. My sister didn't know how to feel. Should she feel bad because of the way the comment reflected on her weight, or complimented because the person obviously thought…

Hi Sue, My kids were slow starters so I am older than a lot of the grandma's here. I am 68 and have three grandsons aged 10, 6 and 22 months. My weight loss has been slow but steady. Hope you are finding MFP as helpful as I am.

Wow! Love the shared pants picture. Congratulations on your accomplishment here.

5'4" 140 lbs Neck 13 Upper arm 11.75 Chest..measured where bra strap goes 32" Waist 32" Hips 39" Thigh 21" calf 13.5 I am 68 years old and from discussions with friends I think belly fat is a common problem even for slim women after they hit menopause. I had a 24 " waist when I was young but now I plan to lose another…

Good grief! What a transition. Really impressive.

Freud asked that question. James Joyce answered it when he had Molly Bloom say that what every woman wants is a really intelligent man to talk to about herself.
