You run cold water for a few minutes before filling a kettle and putting that on to boil. (you want aerated water not the stuff that has been sitting in the pipes.) And it really must boil! Hot water won't do. You then need a tea pot. Cups for brewing won't do either. Pour a little hot water into the tea pot to warm it…

Well worth watching. Thanks OP for posting the link.

Angel food cake "iced" with Dream Whip mixed with diet Jello powder. My grandson has type 1 diabetes and even he can have this. A few fresh strawberries as a garnish make it look quite festive.

First of all, I think it is important to get rid of, or alter all your "big" clothes. That amounts to making a commitment. You don't want to look back. I notice you are still hoping to lose more weight. Ask around and see if you can find a good seamstress in your area..Do reward yourself with some new outfits then knowing…

:grumble: Wish I could just delete. Someone else just made the suggestion I was going to post so I am redundant.

You have to look things up the first while but as soon as you start logging MFP will start building a list of your most recent and most frequent choices automatically.

I am old. I had one back in the 70's and was not impressed. Hence one of my favourite songs. The I.P.D. •(Sue Edmonds / Lian Tanner) It's the I P D, the I P D It may not feel too good to you but it's not hurting me So every time the pain begins to fill your eyes with tears Remember I put up with it for years I'll sing you…

Who know? 46 years later I find it has been my greatest joy and my worst pain. It is like doubling your skin area. I rejoice when they do. I hurt when they do. Now I have grandchildren and it starts again. One thing I can say though, it keeps you involved. Oh yeah, and it is never dull.

Where did you meet you partner? He was our paperboy. He was twelve. I was ten. What did you first notice about him/her? He was smart, funny and hard working. He got sexier once we both hit puberty. What do you most appreciate? That sixty years later, he still can make me laugh.

Can you chew gum on the job? I find that helps keep me from sampling when I bake at home.

Looking to trade a nice thigh gap for a moderate set of boobies.

:frown: No giant *kitten*...just a broad beam. Made for wonderfully easy births.

Kedasmum is my sister but I got the breeder hips. Always had a thigh gap even when I was at my heaviest.

More baffling than annoying but finding it too difficult to call someone the "master of ceremonies," we started referring to them as the MC. Fine. But then to make a word out of that? Emcee???

Interesting thread. I have nothing to add but am signing in just so I can follow it.

As an aside, I once worked in a city where there was only one highway heading out of town and if it snowed it seemed that invariably a semi would jack knife on that stretch and totally block the road for hours. I remember several winter evenings in the dining room of the big chain hotel in the centre of town where I was…

I used to do this often when I was working. As many have noted, it's a good time to read the morning paper. I also found that no one bats an eye in most restaurants if you totally ignore the menu and ask for one egg and two slices of multi-grain toast. (or whatever it is you like.) If you are eating breakfast in a hotel…

Life happens. My MFP friends usually post a warning when something comes up and they are going to be MIA. I appreciate that since then I know that they haven't dropped out and are planning to be back.

Just finished The Imposter Bride. Am about to start Life After Life.

First of all, I notice that you say you weighed at night. Most of us are several pounds heavier in the evening....(some of that may depend on how many glasses of water you had with dinner.) Secondly, if you were on vacation and that involved eating out a lot, your salt intake may have been higher than usual causing you to…

Excellent advice! I have struggled my way to this kind of resolution with a couple of people over the years but never thought it out like this. I just gave up. Now I see it would have been much simpler had I never engaged to begin with.

My husband love Chinese so we eat it a lot. My go to favourite is a war wonton. This is a wonton soup with vegetables, shrimp and a bit of barbecued pork in it. I often ask them to limit the # of wontons and put in more veggies ...they are good with that. Salt levels are probably high but this is otherwise a low cal and…
