  • I am doing the same thing. It really makes it faster. Cheers! :drinker:
  • When I want to add salad flavor pick ups I add one or more of the following: (all are low calorie, high flavor) 2 tbsps chopped parsley (this WAKES up a salad) 1/4 cup sliced green, yellow or red bell peppers 2-3 thin slices of red/yellow onion 1/3 cup thin sliced peeled cucumbers
  • Bump! I am going to be adding all the like minded thinkers as my MFP friends. I find that having low carber friends is the best way to reinforce ideas, share recipes, and support each other. I am also very happy that a "disclaimer" was included in the introduction. Glad to see so many people living the low carb…
  • That is an awesome way to "view" the progress. :) thanks for sharing!!
  • those are AWESOME! and very motivating. Thank you
  • Hiya! I regularly make cauli-rice (or mashed fauxtato). Steam your cauliflower for Rice, and then pop it into the food processor. Pulse a few times until you get the consistency you want. Boil it for fauxtato - put hot cauli into blender w/butter & sourcream- blend until smooth. enjoy. I hope that helps! Dahna
  • You can also do it with a brown paper bag & popcorn kernels. Just put 1/3 cup of popcorn in a paper lunch sack, double-fold the bag shut, and stick it in the microwave for 2 minutes (or longer if needed, just pull out bag when you don't hear the pop after 2 seconds). No oil needed. Dress it with salt, ICBINB spray,…
  • As a suggestion, I would use lemonade. I saw those in the store, and aaaaalmost bought them....but I don't eat sugar, so I decided to make my own version at home. My boyfriend is a Jamba addict, and he has fallen in love  with my homemade low carb version. Tasty & satisfying! In my magic bullet: (added in…
  • Hi, darling! One thing you can add to your nutrition tracking is Fiber. If you look at my diary, you can see that I put Carbs first followed by fiber. That's because I eat low carb, so I subtract my fiber from my carbs to get my Net Carb amount. With that in mind, I do stay away from the starchy high carb veggies & fruits.…

  • Totally agree - Get one! I bought the el cheapo at Bed Bath & Beyond $4 (after 20%coupon). After you use it for a while you get to know amounts & can better guesstimate when away from your kitchen. Your quote... I heard it in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada" ... don't know if it was original though.
  • CONGRATS! Good job on your success... and continued success. :)
  • bump! :)
  • I posted on the other thread in General Diet and Weight Loss Help... :flowerforyou: If there are any Low Carb Lifestylers looking for a like minded friend, please Add Me! Cheers! Dahna
  • Hiya! I am a Low Carb Lifestyle peep. It is not for everyone, but is sure works best for my body. After returning to my low carb living, I have dropped 25 pounds in three months. When I say that it is not for everyone, I mean this is a lifestyle for me. When I eat carbs/sugar, my body reacts almost in a hypoglycemic…
  • If you want a good resource for finding lists of lower sugar fruits & vegetables, check out any of the Atkins foods lists. It could be a great "AT A GLANCE" reference.... so you know where the "sneaky sugars" are. :drinker: The pages will list foods in lowest (phase 1) to highest (phase 4) carb/sugar levels. (just scroll…
  • YES! Accuracy goes both ways with food... I don't measure everything, just the items I am not familiar with. (for example: after measuring out 1 oz of shredded cheese, I can measure out w/the scale) I found that I was over estimating my food amounts, and actually eating less than I originally thought.
  • Good OP question. I currently keep my diary open to friends, but had it private in the beginning.... but thought "?.. If I can't be honest with myself & others, what's the point?" Also IMHO I figure a diary with results (exercise / food) could be a good tool for someone looking for pointers & encouragement. In my case, I…
  • age: 40 height: 5' 1" goal weight: 125 (current weight 162) body type: curvy hourglass, medium frame (want to keep my T&A) At my all time heaviest 7 years ago (in my first wave of weight loss long before MFP), I was 1" shorter... the extra weight compressed my spine & I could stand straight. :drinker: cheers to you on your…
  • I am 5'1" and my goal weight is 125 w/ an average frame. I restarted my weight loss, and had previously been down to 144 and was tickled with the progress then - which translated to a tight size 6 at my height. I figure hitting 125 would be about right for my frame and still be able to keep the butt & boobs. :)
  • great work! kudos on the progress
  • "nothing can bring me down today" I am grinning ear to ear for you!
  • Thank you so much, ladies! Celebrating the small victories is exactly why I posted this... :flowerforyou: When we string together a bunch of our small victories... they become HUGE and life changing.
  • a wonderful NSV... thanks for sharing!
