  • Not really. I have slight balance problems and I would definitely have to hold onto the side of a treadmil if I were so inclined to use one. Is this something that people really notice and cringe about? These threads make me cringe because there are posters on here who are thinking of joining a gym and then read something…
  • I've cut out soda and chips because the calories weren't worth it to me. I've also cut down the frequency I eat fast food. It used to be a weekly thing. Now it's a every couple months thing. Other than that, I've cut out huge portion sizes and extra calories. I aim for 80% healthy /(for me because everyone's definition of…
  • I'm late to the thread but feel free to add me. I eat between 1500-2100 calories a day, depending on exercise. I usually work out 4 times a week.
  • Started at: 210 Want to be at: 155 Where I'm at: 164-165 Height is 5"10. I eat between 1500-1990 and lift 2-3x a week and circuit train 2x a week, sometimes 3. How I keep active changes with the seasons/weather.
  • Right now I do 4 days a week for an hour. Monday, and Thursday is circuit training, Tuesday is pump and Saturday is kickboxing. Once summer hits, I'm only doing pump and the rest of the time is going to be spent outside on my bike. I like staying active but I'd much rather that activity be outside in the sun than in a gym.
  • I'm 5"10. I started out at 205 lbs. I'm currently between 162-167 lbs. (I keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs) When I first started losing my goal was 175 lbs, then I got to 175 lbs (profile pic) and lowered it to 170. Then I got to 170 lbs, and lowered to 165 lbs. Now the goal is between 150-155 lbs. For me, I had to…
  • I don't weigh anything. I measure most things and log everything as best I can. I know that it's not going to be 100% accurate, or even 90%, however I've lost 38 lbs this way, with only 10 more to go.
  • I first started losing weight for my family. There is a history of diabetes in my family and I couldn't stand my parents constant worrying that it would be passed on to me. Once I started losing weight, I kept at it for me as I discovered I liked being athletic and running and lifting and hiking. I'm planning on running my…
  • I'm 5'10. Current weight is 177. When I first started, my goal was between 150-160. Then I started to lose and tone, and saw how my body was adjusting, and I upped it to 165. Right now the scale is stuck at 177 (for 2 months now) and I think I'll stop at 170 (if I make it that far) I've been lifting heavy, and I like my…
  • I started lifting in December (or right around there) I've lost 28 lbs total (sloooooow going) but the scale has stopped moving the last 2 months. However, I'm down to a size 10 (from 14) and I've looked like I lost more. I feel better than ever, and I like the way my body looks. I do want to lose more though. I'm 177 lbs…
  • I'm 5"10. Started at 205 lbs and was a size 14. am now 179 lbs and am a size 10. When I was 135 lbs, I was a size 8.
  • i'm so proud of you! your post made me tear up!!!
  • I've been going to gym for a while ago, and the only thing I care about is that people are decent to each other. as for some if the more nitpicking things in here, ignore them. seriously, sometimes I get a work text when I'm on the elliptical and I have to text back. then I pick up the intensity again. if that's going to…
  • I like this idea. I know a couple other posters have mentioned it as well. donating sounds better than giving to my coworkers
  • I do what I do every year. I always order a ridiculous amount from my 3 nieces. I keep a box of my fave, and give the rest to coworkers. I don't freak out about gs cookies though, or any junk food. I mostly keep it healthy. if it's something I really want, and I have the calorie allowance, I'll eat it. if I don't, I pass.
  • I'm not sure about thin, but I feel AWESOME. I can't believe how strong I've gotten, and how clothes look on me. If I stayed at 182 lbs forever, I'd be pretty darn happy
  • I can't support someone who uses non doctor prescribed diet pills. how does that teach someone to be healthy. I also won't support someone who dangerously lowers their calories or throws up their meals. or uses dangerous, fad diets. I'm not here to be supportive of unhealthy methods and I'll call it out when I see it
  • 5"10, and all the height to weight charts say for my frame (medium) I should be somewhere around 150-155. I'm ignoring them. I'm 183 now and I look good. I'm just going to keep doing cardio and weights and see what else my body can do. I would be thrilled to get between 165-170, but it's not a set in stone goal. I realized…
  • this. I want to make sure I'm moving in the right direction.
  • 1) working out doesn't have to be torture. find something you love that keeps you moving and do it. 2) there are benefits to weights and cardio. I don't have to choose between them ( which is great because I love doing both)
  • 1/3- 3 mi (treadmill) 1/4- 0 (skipped) 1/5-2mi (treadmill)
  • I'm 5'9 and currently weigh184 lbs. Right now I'm overweight according to every bmi chart out there, but I'm healthier than I've ever been. In high school and college, I weighed around 130 lbs and I was out of breath just after running a lap around the track and I ate absolute junk. Today I have muscle and can hike and…
  • Just saw this after I posted. Agree 110%
  • Diets to me seem like short term solutions. I want to eat healthy and well for the rest of my life. my body, and mind, feels better when I fuel it with fresh vegetables, fruit and protein, rather than fast or fried food. So what worked for me was counting my calories on here and choosing healthier options that fill me up,…
  • Monday 4.0 (treadmill) Tuesday 2.0 (snowshoeing) Wed 4.0 (bike) then weights for 45 min but no idea how to track that Kristin
  • hi everyone. joined today. I usually walk 4 miles 5 days a week, and I've just added snowshoeing to the mix for winter. _ Kristin
  • I snowshoed for 40 minutes and also did a non snowshoe walk(20 min)
  • I honesty can't understand why anyone would care what someone else is drinking. When I'm hanging with friends, I'll either have wine or tea, depending on mood. my friends don't care either way, nor do I care what they drink. I have a few non alcohol drinking friends and we manage to coexist in harmony. it baffles me that…
  • I ended up having 4 drinks. food was a mostly healthy dinner and no snacks. got up early to go snowshoeing and now off to enjoy some brunch. love me some eggs.
  • I'm dying to try out the skinny girl margarita mix I got for Xmas. I'll indulge in a few glasses, but I'll pass on the cheese and chips. I got through thanksgiving and Xmas a couple lbs lighter, by choosing what high calorie treats were important to me and the rest I passed on. tonight, that margarita mix is what's…
