I'm in. As usual I will be away during the week some weeks, but, I will do my far share of mileage and climbs.

29/3/15 90.3km https://www.strava.com/activities/275846087 a flat ride, but, very wet No photos, or steep gradients. I'm claiming 10 bonus points for riding in weather worse than they had in Belgium :) We were supposed to be doing a climbing route but wind and rain that bad we picked a flattish route.

Can I join in please?
-
Am I too late to join in? Not been on the community boards much of late. I did ride Sat and Sunday so have rides to log.
-
Just realised I didn't answer @Dahamac question about what happened at about 40 miles. I think you are referring to the hour to do 1km. That would have been our lunch stop at the cafe in Chipping (Great biker cafe BTW)

Thanks everyone for your inputs. YBF is correct they are 2015 PRs, it wasn't that quick and if anything was slightly slower than of late due to being a bit more lumpy. No not gone down with a cold this week. So that wasn't it. @Dahamac. Yes it was hilly but nothing out of the norm for round here. A bit more hilly than I've…

Thanks Archon. Yes I rode on Saturday. I always ride Sat and Sunday (Saturday is a STRAW ride). Once i got picked up it took me a good hour to recover (and a hot shower). Today I am really stiff and that is unusual, I usually never feel it like this the next day.

I finally got my voucher through and went for the CAADX. I got the 2014 model as they'd a good deal on it. I put 28mm Gattorskin road tyres on it as I intend to use it as my main winter bike. My initial impression are: its as heavy as hell after a summer riding my my Hi-Mod. Feels twice as heavy but not actually weighed…

Another vote for the Gabba, I have the long sleeve version. Off topic, how do you wash yours and still keep breathability and waterproof properties

Geoff Smith Cycles is where most the guys I ride with in the club go. He seems to come well recommended but I've never used him!! Other than buying club kit. Reason is my brother's wife's family have a shop over Preston way. Its a bit of a trek but I'm treated like family. E.g. If I turn up with the bike and need something…

Thanks for the input folks. I really am undecided. Frannybobs correct you can buy accessories with a voucher. Unfortunately RIMS are classed as components and not an accessory. This was the advise I got from Evans. So lights or jacket yes. New wheels - no. The Mavic 105s will be a nice upgrade from the Mavic Kysrium S that…

For me long distance is anything over 100km. Anything less than that I keep a gel (with caffeine) for emergencies. Today was typical, I carry a banana, a small Haribo packet and a gel. I eat half the banana after 90 mins and then the other half about 45 mins after that. Then just before the final set of inclines I will eat…

And me back in the clubhouse as well. A BIG THANK YOU once again to Mark for organising this, I find it motivates me to get out in an evening when I'd rather just fester after a tough day at work. Got to say this has been my most enjoyable challenge. Chapeau to the rest of Team FDS. Every single one of us did out bit. We…

Many Thanks for organising this Mark. I've ended up with one of my best months (distance wise) since I got back o a bike 18 months ago.

It did make it fleetingly. But you needed to know where to look. We were gutted we thought it would get at least a few seconds on TV. My cousin works for an event company. They actually did the staging for the presentations in the First Direct Arena. They printed the banner. We then lugged it and the rigging for 3 miles to…

My cousin lives about a mile from the finish on day one. 25 of us camping in his back garden Fri and Saturday and 100 for a "Grand DeParty" Friday night. A few options for the Saturday. Not sure whether to cycle over to Leeds or somewhere else on route for the start/ early stage before heading back to Harogate to see them…

I'm back :) Thanks for sorting me out TBY

I echo TBY's comments. The MFP cycling figures are useless. I use an HRM linked to my Garmin 800. The figures when uploaded to Strava are closer to reality but I find that for me the figures are still higher than my Garmin figures, so I use Garmin, As I "eat back". As a rule of thumb, if I am out on a ride and push myself…

However you do it is fine , though I do like this suggestion
