I gained 80 lbs after a knee injury. Now I'm 15 down with hcg. I can walk bike and do pilates on my knee (had it cleaned out with arthrocsopy). Hoping they can inject cartlage. Where it is missing, but they wont consider it at my current bmi. Hcg is drastic, but the only thing that has worked after a year of eating 1200 to…

Ditto. My girl is 4 and I am an architect. It seems like there is not enough time for me. Just started biking agan, and made a resolution to schedule a 30 min workout every day. 17 for 17 now. Usually schedule the workout for lunch or bike home.

I just drank a shake with natureaid pea protein chocolate, and it tasted awesome...no grit. 20 g protein per serving 140 cal. Not hungry hrs later. Guess pea protein has gotten better since 2013?

Trying to fit in 10 min walks here and there, at lunch, during a break. Just this little amount increases my endorphines, so I have less crave to binge. Will try to do this every day in 2015, so I can get off my anti anxiety meds. Finding happiness and peace will help reduce cravings. A therapist is Giving me tools to…

5'9" athlete. ex runner 273 lbs. 100 lbs more than my track running days. Would love to be sub 200. Very slow metabolism, my fitbit says i burn 3000 cal a day. can that be right? My goal this year is 365 days of workouts, even if it is only walking, need to get out. Feel free to join me on mfp or fitbit! I'm 5 for 5 so far…

This gives me hope. I have a huge hole in my cartilage, had a cleanout 9 weeks ago...and don't think it fixed much (still feel that constant burning ache). My dr. is considering filling the hole with biocartilage! i'll find out more in may when i see him at my 4 month post op appt. In the meantime, trying to lose the 30…

Thanks for sharing. I'm lucky that the swelling went away after 2 months...but I am keeping very low activity until i get through physical therapy. First day of PT is tomorrow. Wish me luck! If you don't mind, I'd like to send you a friend request so we can motivate each other. I am having a really hard time losing weight…

When I was 20 I was ranked 2nd in the nation in Track and Field. Now I am sitting on my couch nursing a cartilage tear in my knee, 18 years later. I don't know what happened, never ran marathons, but somehow the cartilage wore through. Have been up and down with my weight all my life, but it was walking & running in…

Thanks for the advice. I'd kill to have her eat more veggies. I can hide spinach in things but that's about it. I'll try the honey, because butter sauce hasn't worked like i thought it would. Yeah, we don't buy nutella very often...but now i'll try honey!

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I like the idea of fixing small portions. I'll try that. But sometimes, she'll eat, like half an egg or half a piece of toast. If I can save it, sometimes I can put it in the fridge for later. I do hate giving her chicken nuggets and nutella, but i am trying to train her to eat regular…

Thanks guys. Sorry to hear about all your injuries, but i think it is great to vent/commiserate and get moral support on this website. I'm glad I posted, because I learned from y'all some new exercises. I'll try to find some videos on hydrotherapy and chair yoga! Thanks for the ideas! I've started climbing stairs the last…

Thanks for the advice, i'll do the leg lifts and aqua jogging. What is hydrotherapy? Since i re-injured myself doing leg press with minimal weight...i'll wait on leg exercises with weights until I see the ortho surgeon next week. Knee injuries really suck, but I'm learning its not the end of the world. :) I've also started…

I had hip pain 5 years ago from running overuse, while over weight (200lb at the time). I had an mri, but they couldnt diagnose me. In any case they had me do lots of hip esercises which helped get me back to walking. I could run, but don't want to test my luck :) 1. Pull knee towards chest laying down, hold and push out…

Thanks for the post. I am 3 months into a cartlidge tear, and have had to be very immobile, which is driving me crazy (and has also made me gain 20 lbs). The doctor may or may not recommend surgery, so it is good to see life an go on without surgery.
