Thanks everyone, and yes @NovusDies they did a complete overhaul of the private island not to long ago, maybe last winter. It was the highlight between there and Nassau. We didnt buy anything wooden in Nassau, all we got was some souvenirs for our kids.

Today we are celebrating my oldest 2 sons birthdays. October 2nd and October 3rd, they are 23 and 21 this year. They want to go to a local pizza place and sports bar for a family dinner. My goal is to stay within my tdee maintenance calories today.

I have had a bad relationship with food my whole adult life. It is tough to control the urges. In the past and even some this time I would purge my house of all of the "bad foods" and then ask/tell my wife not to bring any of those foods into the house. I dont know how you keep your calories that low, I can go at 2200ish for a few days then I need a higher day. Most the time I try to stay in the 2500-2800 category

I am a big believer that a measuring tape is a better judge of progress than a scale. With water weight and just daily fluctuations the scale has a tendency to irritate me more than it helps me. The tape measure never lies in my experience.

I agree completely with your last paragraph. My best friend had surgery and I have watched him make himself sick multiple times. Breaks my heart. When the doctor brought up the subject with me those memories were one of the big motivations for me to get started.
