  • I was heartened to see this group still going, even some recognizable names. A couple of years ago I was pretty active in this group and had some success in weightloss. Since I have had a lot less success. Back and starting again, the line is in the sand as they say. I hope to get reacquainted with the group veterans and…
  • @bemeadow380 I walk both of my huskies wearing my fitbit, one leash in each arm. Granted I usually turn on the exercise feature so that it hooks up to my phones GPS so I get a decent distance estimate. The steps accrued when I use gps feature and when not using it are similar for the same walking path. I am not sure how it…
  • Friday night I left work early and went with the family to the local Indian casino. Which of course has a seafood buffet on friday night. Hmm crab legs. In the past I would have indulged to the point where a food coma woulda have commenced for the next couple hours. I limited myself to 2 "not heaping" plates and no desert.…
  • @bmeadows380 Over the last couple of years I have had 3 different fitbits (alta hr, versa, inspire hr) and used my sons galaxy 2 watch for a couple days. All of them worn on the wrist and registered a similar average step count for my average day. I am not sure about a pedometer because I have never had one. I have walked…
  • @bmeadows380 and @merph518 I too would like to jump on this train. I am now anywhere from a 3xlt to a 5xlt shirt, and anywhere from a 46 to 50 pant depending on the brand. I am tall (6'3") so shirt length and finding an inseam size in my waste size has always frustrated me. I swear they think all fat guys with a 50 inch or…
  • So occasionally at work I need to operate a forklift. Last summer at heaviest this was a chore. The seatbelt "barely" fit, the steering wheel didnt leave much room either. It was uncomfortable to operate, I would avoid it, try to find some reason to have someone else do it. For the first time in a couple months I jumped on…
  • I also have whoosh syndrome, it sucks.
  • Dog walking, my doggies love my weightloss journey. Before they might have gotten 2 walks a week, we do have a fenced in yard for them to run in. Now they usually get 2 walks a day.
  • I agree with @merph518. I have been getting people asking me lately how I have lost the weight, or how can they lose weight. Honest, diligent logging of food/calories is the only way I have been able to stay the course. Just the act of logging will influence my choices. I might still be in the drive thru, but I might…
  • @NovusDies I do not chuckle at your spreadsheet. I completely agree that keeping a spreadsheet helps me stay on track. It helps me convert emotions into logic is the best way to describe it.
  • LL gave me support and a little perseverance. It helped me back from a couple bad relapses to horrible eating practices. Thanks to LL those were brief. I find motivation in many of your posts. Thank you, and Merry Christmas to all.
  • I believe that as humans we are all creatures of habit. When in the deficit habit/mindset, breaking that can be a stress. Especially when you think you might be losing the loses you worked hard for. At some point all of us have to find a way to switch from deficit to maintenance. If you unlock that secret please share.
  • Yesterday was a bad day. Got into an disagreement/argument with my better half that ended up with me in the Wendy's drive thru window. Then I got to work and it was our catered christmas dinner night. Nothing like a 5000 calorie day to make you feel good about yourself. I will be better today, when will I ever get over…
  • I was at about 6 before I started tracking calories in July, so about 5 or 6 months ago
  • I am obsessed and hate the scale. I have created a simple spreadsheet and mapped my weight trend which helps me immensely. If you log your weight into MFP it will also show you a line graph of your weight trend. There are also lots of apps that will map out trends. I empathize with scale struggles, they are real and hard…
  • Had blood work done today, all is within normal levels. The biggest deal though, A1C is now 5.4, woohoo
  • @NovusDies, I never thought of it as a cage of fat. I like that visual. Since this summer I heard another one I think back to often. "I was training to be fat." Meaning to get over 400 pounds I had to actively try to be that big. I dont think that I consciously wanted to be that big, but alot of my food…
  • My wife and I went out to eat at Outback Steakhouse while it shopping this weekend. We sat in a booth. It is not the first time I fit in a booth, but it still brings a smile to my face when it happens.
  • I also ate way more than I should have during the Thanksgiving holiday. It is ok though, a couple of bad days will not wreck everything. According to the scale I gained almost 10 lbs, I know most of that is "water weight" and in a week or so I will be back down to where I "should" be. Get back on track, we are all still…
  • Sometimes I feel bipolar in regards to my self perception. I go from feeling like a huge cant move around fat *kitten*, to thinking I am in high school and can run a sub 7 minute mile still. I have a hard time with actual reality, I am way better than I was, but still no where near I want to be, and my brain has a hard…
  • I heard the samsung active 2 is going to be 50 dollars off at costco for black friday. I have not seen any other deals though
  • So fitbit has great customer support! At a friend's suggestion I decided to call fitbit and make a claim. I bought my fitbit in April of 2018, it was definitely out of warranty. Initially they offered me condolences and a 25% coupon off any new device. I, in my nicest voice, replied that I was thinking of buying a samsung…
  • Planet Fitness membership card
  • @merph518 I have read reviews and watched youtube videos on that watch in particular. No one else has mentioned the issue that you just did, that I have seen. I like it alot from what I have seen. I loved the battery life from my fitbit versa until recently. I dont know what happened to it the last 3 or 4 days. It used to…
  • I think almost all of them would sync with your iPad. You would have to look up specific models but most likely they would.
  • I am leaning towards a samsung watch
