you can put it in chili. substitute your beans or some of the tomatoes for pureed pumpkin is fantastic. works well if you season with cumin, a little cinnamon, and chilli powder. i also use onion powder. if i have it on hand, i put a cup or two of pureed pumpkin in everything from marinara sauce to veggie soups. it hides…

i agree with socajam about the sodium...that can really help. also, idk if you are just not logging water intake, but you will retain water if you aren't getting enough water. stay hydrated! your diary looks pretty good from what i saw. keep it consistent as much as possible. leveling out is normal. stick with it! you can…

when my sister and i get Chinese food, we usually get something with light sauce or sauce on the side (it's mostly corn starch, salt, and msg anyway!) try to avoid the deep fried stuff, like eggrolls and wontons, or at least save those for very rare occasions. see if they have a vegetable option to some of their…

Outstanding! Keep up the good work! ^_^

i didn't buy any new clothes, but i did save old clothes. kept several things from highschool. what felt the best was when i actually waited too long to try them on again. most of the shirts and jeans are all much too big. so...being a clothes horse isn't always a bad thing. aside from the more sentimental stuff,…

skinnytaste.com has a fantastic cauliflower lemon "pudding." out. of. this. WORLD!

kudos on your new journey. southern girl too, so if you want to share some adjusted recipes, i'm more than willing to share. ^_^ (your bikes are gorgeous, btw. always loved bikes, never learned to ride)

i know you said you don't like protein shakes...have you tried using protein powder in other ways? proteinpow.com has hundreds of inventive uses...the girl makes CAKE...from protein powder!!! she's a WIZARD!!! o_0 i use vegetable protein or soy protein with some eggs, and water to make little flapjacks for sandwiches.

what about smoothies? you say you don't like vegetables on their own, but what about incorporating more than just the veggies? a fantastic smoothie i used to make was: 1/2 banana 1/2 cup berries (this varried by what was stored in my freezer) 2 - 3 cups spinach 1 medium zucchini 1/4 cup skim milk keep in mind, this was…

when in doubt, vergetables! lots of salad (keep it as dry as possible, or dip your fork in dressing before taking a bite to avoid overloading on the extra fat and calories) or even just some broccoli and cauliflower pieces. :) i love raw veggies.

well, idk about the high fat part, but low carb...some AMAZING recipes on 24hourlowcarbdiner.com she is an absolute kitchen wizard, and my inspiration. :-)

another way to save on the healthy eating is to start your own urban garden. it takes work, and patience, but if you consider that buying some potting soil and a small variety of seeds cost less than $30, your return for those vegetables is huge. and just think, your own "organic" veggies sans the pestisides and you don't…

p90x is good, from what i hear.

idk about bad ones (i don't eat a lot of pre-frozen food) but i hear from a low-carb friend that the Atkins meals are actually pretty good. not especially filling, so you'll probably need a salad to go along.

From Feb. The before pic is from Jan 2012.

when i cut things out of my allowed intake (first gluten, then carbs) it ALL got out of my house. i cleaned it out of my pantry and fridge so there would be nothing to fall back to. now, i'm rarely tempted by "forbidden" foods. :)

first off, kudos to making this decision. you are that much closer to your goal, and that is AWESOME! you are more than welcome to add me. i'm not entirely tough-love, but i won't lie to you if you are making unhealthy choices.

try shopping at stores that honor price-match (Walmart does, idk about other stores.) i've BEEN spending around $100 - 120 every other week for two to eat healthier. i started focusing on what was actually on sale in produce and meat market. last visit cost me $45 and will feed my sis and me for two weeks! (homemade…

without knowing what you are eating: try eating high volume food instead of high calorie (ie. salad greens in large quantity) protein rich foods (meats, fish, fowl) save starchy or fatty foods for special occasions or limit them to only ONE mini splurge a day (as long as it fits your macros)

you know, wedging your keys through your fingers make for an excellent defense weapon to claw at an attacker's face. you could also invest in a couple strap-on weights (i've seen sets that belt over the top of your hand so you grip the weight.) maybe not as effective as brass knuckles, but at the very least it will give…

i've gotten to the point where i can't AFFORD to keep buying more pants for work! easy way to take in slacks.... at the back seam, tuck about half an inch of the waistband and line it up with the seam (you can do this either behind the seam or on top of it. either way, you get a decent pleat.) pin in place. do the same for…

huh...my cat won't be bothered with catnip...just ignores it. she won't even play with toys that have been enhanced with catnip. then again, we had a long talk about peer pressure and experimentation when she moved in. i think i got through to her. lol.

been laughing over how rediculous this scenario is and hoping it's just a really bad April Fool's joke. if not, i'm pretty sure there will be an upcoming news story on a family gone missing...the only living thing found in the home is a massively obese, but completely satisfied cat. please feed your CARNIVOROUS pet the…

I've had some say you can compensate your deficit for the entire week estimate. So...if you go over on say, Tuesday, you can make up for it on Friday. Or, something like that.

sounds fantastic. i think, though, that i may sub the quinoa for chia seeds or flaxseed meal to reduce the carbs. and thin out the chili sauce a tad. :)

omg, too cute! XD

i held an average of about 1250 (net after exercise) for about 2 months. recently, i started getting faint and even had a few blackouts. started adding in some calories (i'm up to 1350 average) and that has helped. if you feel weak or shakey, EAT SOMETHING! you don't want to risk starting some new health issue for…

I think my biggest excuse was "It's too expensive to be healthy" That was used from gym costs to eating better. I even managed to convince myself that having to buy an entirely new wardrobe so outrageous that I should stay huge since everything already fit me! I would also say stupid things like, "...at least I can eat…
