I suddenly have the urge to see many on my FL belly dancing. I truly do.

I think you'll end up being happier with your progress if you forget how fast you are running and just run a little longer each time you run. One of my favorite pieces of advice came from an MFP friend (Hi delicious_cocktail) who told me a long while back that each time you run, go just 20 yards farther than you did…

I moved from looking for motivation (which is based in emotion) and started building habits (based in behavior). I often don't feel like working out but my car automatically drives to the gym from work before turning towards home. Once I'm in the doors, the biggest share of the battle is over.

I so agree. So incredibly agree.

I agree on the first thing in the morning thing. I also routinely lie to myself saying, "I'll just go out for a ten minute walk and then if I don't feel like it, I'll come home." I have never come home after ten minutes and rarely continue walking. It's just getting out the door that is the issue. I've run on a full gut…

In all seriousness, this is very good advice. There may be something more going on that your doctor needs to check.

Really, who could resist? It's through reading the helpful responses that I learned who was full of knowledge and who was full of, well, something else. A little gratitude goes a long way. It would be nice to see some of the people who truly help be acknowledged.

Well, really, who doesn't? Delicious cocktail as well.

Me too! And I work at a desk also. Doing something > doing nothing. I still spend a lot of time looking at "how to" videos for the compound lifts. I'm progressing, but not quickly because I'm trying to make sure my form is good so if that means I stay at the same weight for a while, I don't care. The only person you need…

Go for it. People don't care as much as you think they do. Put in the earbuds, fire up the music and disappear into your own world. Start out slow, even so slow that some people could walk faster than you are moving. Each day go a little bit farther. And keep at it.

And also, 42. For sure.

If I would have raised you, this would never have even crossed your radar.

Well, well, well. Happiest day of all to my very favorite wheirdo. May you be overflowing in joy and may each day forward bring you even more.

I could not agree any more.

My children are a pleasure to have in class. I have the report cards that prove it. It's because they were raised on a diet of fast food and sugar.

It will get easier when you feel confident and have been there a while. So, as others have suggested, going with a trainer at first is great. I spend a lot of time looking at videos during the day and imitating them. You know what else makes it easier? When you start recognizing people on the same basic schedule as you.…
