I said it in the most non-offensive, non-combative way I could. Everyone else responded POLITELY, even if they disagreed. You are the only one who is being rude and deliberately attacking me.

What bothers or doesn't bother me is none of your business. And it's not your place to tell me what I need to do to feel better about myself. If anyone seems bothered by this thread, it's you, since you attack my opinion every time I post about this topic. If you disagree, why not keep scrolling and leave me alone? I asked…

I know some people are rude in the way they try to convince people on here to eat more, but I feel like you're exaggerating a little. Many of us aren't telling them to eat 1800-3000 a day -- I cannot eat that much and lose. But 1400-1700 is realistic, and that has been politely suggested by others, including me. And it's…

Well lucky you. :) I've seen people on the "eat more" side of the fence get attacked because they don't want to eat 1200.

Finally got around to rereading this thread and seeing the responses. I find it interesting that many of you assume that I'm getting defensive or that this is a manifestation of a personal issue for me...it's not. There are SOME people on here who eat 1200 or less who are rude and condescending about it. There is an…

Thank you!!! :) I think you're the first person I've ever seen saying that about processed food. I get that some of it is terrible for you, but the idea that the only way you can eat healthy is to cook everything at home is ludicrous.

That only goes but so far, though. I'm eating at a deficit, and my stomach does gradually adjust to that over time so that I'm not hungry all day. But if you're eating 800 calories a day for example, you can't possibly be getting full off that amount of food. I honestly don't understand how anyone can say that with a…

My favorite one, that I make almost every morning for breakfast, is this one: 3/4 or 1 cup of Almond milk One container of vanilla Greek yogurt frozen strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries It's about 350 calories and tastes great! :)

The Under Armour sports bras that zip up in the front are the only ones that have ever held my girls in place! It's the first time I've been able to do high impact exercises like running and plyometrics without having to worry about what my breasts were doing. They're kind of expensive, but if you need the extra support, I…

I have asthma too, and for a long time I felt like I couldn't do anything cardio-related because I would get winded so easily. I don't know how severe yours is, mine wasn't that bad. But if you want to improve, and possibly eliminate your asthma, the key is to pace yourself. Run as slow as you need to -- no sprinting!…

But if you started out eating a high-carb diet, and those carbs were coming from things like white bread, pasta, etc. that would take up a good chunk of your daily calories. Especially since most of us weren't paying attention to serving sizes before we started losing weight. Carbs can be very calorie dense (not saying…

I use one packet of Truvia and a little Almond milk -- sometimes Vanilla, sometimes Original. I like my coffee really bitter anyway, so I haven't felt the need to sweeten it beyond that. I went from my morning cup of coffee being over 100 calories with regular cream and sugar, to now being only 15 calories. :)

But why would you WANT to though? Let's say you worked really hard, did your research, and found a way to eat 600 calories a day and get all your nutrients (which by the way is impossible in my opinion, but to each their own). How would that even make sense? Why wouldn't you pick a more sensible calorie amount (doesn't…

You've been arguing for this on every thread I've seen you on. Being short doesn't automatically mean you HAVE to eat 1200 or less. I'm 5'3 and I lose steadily at 1600. Everyone is different. I don't get why 1200 is the minimum, either. I think the minimum number for most women should be 1500, no matter what their height…

You sound just like me! :) I eat a little bit of everything and I'm still losing weight! Doing anything to restrictive just wouldn't work for me. I'd be happy to add you. ^_^

Exercise can be maintained over the long term if you work at it. Can you do the same workout video for the rest of your life? No, that would be boring and you would stall your own progress. But you can use videos as a stepping stone to up your fitness level. I've done 30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30 multiple times, and my…

My strategy is always to eat a little bit of everything. I make one small plate with all the things I really want in small portions. Generally I get full of just that since I eat a lot less now than I did in the past, so unless I'm really hungry I STOP at that one plate. Then have a small portion of whatever dessert is…

Thank you! It's so ironic that you should mention this particular bra, I was just looking at that link before I posted this topic! I like that it's half the price of the sports bra I'm using now. :)
-
The only company I can think of that makes sports bras in that size is Enell, and their bras are both ugly and very expensive. :( I'm afraid us larger-chested girls have to be willing to invest a decent amount of money for the extra support we need. I don't expect to spend less than $50 on a sports bra anymore...the…

Oh, don't worry, I eat back at least half of my exercise calories, usually all of them. On those days I do one of two things -- either I make one of those 3 meals bigger and more calorie dense than usual, or I add an extra snack or protein shake to make up for what I've burned off.
-
That's just it -- I don't want advice, and I don't want my diary to be scrutinized. I've heard awful stories here about people's diaries being picked apart by strangers. Not my cup of tea.

If it's strictly for tracking calorie burn, I recommend the Polar FT4. I have it, and it works great! It's very basic, but I didn't need any special features, I just wanted to get a good estimate of what I was burning when I worked out.

That still doesn't explain why most doctors you speak to and many studies you read will say you need the nutrition that vegetables, a carbohydrate, provide. I'm not saying fats and proteins aren't important, because they are -- I'm saying all three matter and we need to stop making one out of the three this enemy food that…
-
That's true, but only to an extent. After all, vegetables have great nutritional value and are also carbs. So it's not entirely accurate to say your body needs carbs less than protein or fat. If that were true, why would eating vegetables to achieve optimal health and fitness be pushed on dieters so much?

In terms of your overall health and fitness, the spinach would be better for you than the chocolate. But strictly in terms of weight loss, you could eat either one and it wouldn't make a difference. Weight loss is calories in, calories out. Doesn't matter where those calories come from as long as it's the right amount. But…

A calorie is a unit of energy. Burn more energy than you consume, and you lose weight. I think the reason so many people are into low-carb diets and lose a lot of weight on them is because carbs do tend to be more calorie-dense than other foods. So when you lower your intake of them, generally your overall calorie intake…

I agree. The biggest difference between the way I lost weight before and the way I'm losing it now is that I'm making a concerted effort not to place moral judgements on food. Foods are not inherently good or bad, and therefore I am not inherently good or bad based on my food choices. If I eat healthier on a certain day, I…

I love yoga! I agree with a previous poster that said as long as you're burning calories and maintaining a deficit, you will lose weight. The first time I lost a significant amount of weight (around 20 pounds), the whole beginning of my journey I did nothing but yoga and some elliptical work at my gym, and I was losing…

Thanks, everyone! I just got back from my first outdoor run, and I have to tell you...I'm officially a convert! I liked it SO MUCH BETTER than running on a treadmill. I felt like I got a much better workout, and the fresh air made it much easier to steady my breathing, so I never felt like I was going to die during the…
