Yes! You're not alone :-)

Beans on toast (use reduced sugar and salt beans) on a workout day for the protein. Fruit compote with plain yoghurt and a sprinkle of granola.

Today's foul weather got me running between buildings at work rater than my leisurely walk. I'm calling that my bad weather exercise now!

For me Saturday night is (home made) pizza night. It's not a cheat. It's not a reward. It is something I can look forward to. It is also completely within my calories for the day because I do an hour in the gym in the morning. If I stopped doing it I would probably start to feel deprived, and end up off the wagon again.…

45 mins is 1.5 x 30 mins. 1.5 x 170 calories is 255 calories - so you've actually burned slightly more per min doing the longer workout.

If we say an hour of sitting on your backside is 150 calories and an hour of walking is 400 calories. Then MFP will add 400 calories without taking into account the fact that you would have burnt 150 anyway. The extra calories that you have exercised off are only 250. If you eat all 400 of the extra calories that MFP has…

Try monitoring calories over a longer period e.g. a week. If your netting your target calories over the course of a week I wouldn't be worried!

Exercise - take a walk, run, find a punchbag and get boxing! Channel your negative energy into something more productive. Then take a long bath/ read a good book / listen to yourfavourite music. Do something that's going to help relax you!

For me it was procrastination. I was always a little overweight but I noticed it getting worse. But that was okay because it was only down to the stress of moving house, or of starting a new job, or of doing my MSc and once that was done I'd deal with it. But there was always something else to put it off for. When I got on…

Could you use your HRM over a 24 hour period to get a better approximation of how much you burn in a day?
-
It's not a patch on Dihydrogen monoxide though - you should read some of the stuff that's been involved in. http://www.dhmo.org/research.html And it's in so many different types of food! ;-)

How are your iron levels? I used to crave red meat around TOM until I started taking iron supplements and have not had a similar craving in since.

I figure that sleep is an important part of my weight loss! I put a collection of snacks in my bag in the evening (this week a banana, a satsuma and a low-cal cupcake). At the weekends I make lunch for the week and keep it pre-portioned in the fridge so I can grab it in the morning (pasta salad, quinoa with veg...). Even…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/search?programmes[]=p00vq8c6 I particularly like the meat and potato pies and the masala marinated chicken.

To meet your target in a month you'd have to loose about 10lb per week. That's crazy unhealthy! I'm guessing you set up the max weight loss of 2lb per week (probably not the best way to loose sustainably) which would mean 22 weeks to get your weight down.

Sounds like you're holding water weight. Just keep your sodium low, your water high and don't give up!
-
I do! It makes the shopping easier as I don't have to keep popping out for things mid-week and I'm not throwing as much away that I haven't used.

I've started adding tinned tuna (the ones in spring water) into stuff like salads and pasta sauces just because it's a quick and easy way of adding a bit of protein. Only problem is that I end up with the cat watching me eat!
-
yay! well done.

Maybe you should start with something really small and build yourself up? A glass of fruit juice or a few strawberries/raspberries etc. perhaps. When your body gets used to that you could slowly build in heavier foods and proteins.

Well done!

I'm just in shock that you clearly have a medical problem and your mother is trying to stop you seeking medical help! Even if you are under 18, most medical professionals should see you without a parent "No, a doctor or health care provider can’t talk with the parents or guardian about a capable child’s medical care,…

Try replacing some of your drinks with a dilute no-added-sugar cordial. They add sweetness and flavor to water and are very low calorie. Reduce the caffeinated drinks slowly and if you find yourself having withdrawal symptoms a small portion of diet cola can help a bit with this (giving you a little caffeine boost without…

I work with teenagers so have (slightly) lower risks. Try and keep generally healthy - good diet and exercise, and reduce stress as that can compromise your immune system. Apart from that, the more things your immune system is exposed to over time, the better it will get at responding to them so if you do go down sick just…

I'd like to be able to go swimming without feeling self conscious about my thighs.

I'm resolutely a South Londoner - grew up in Tooting, work Wimbledon, live near Mitcham

Have you considered making life easier on yourself and not drinking all that booze? I'm sure the sink would like a bottle or 5!

I'd like to agree with others on the thread about getting your kids involved with your exercise. If you can get them involved, even for as little as 20mins every few days it will be setting them up for a much healthier adulthood. I understand what you're saying about them being 'braniac' rather than athletic types but this…

I asked my boyfriend to be my gym buddy and it's working out pretty well. We're a bit competitive with each other - today i beat him, which made a change! We discuss how we want to work out and have similar "tastes" in equipment so that helps. Somedays I'm nagging him to get out of bed and work out and sometimes it's the…

The aim is that your net calories is about the same as your target calories.
