It does. I get nasty bruises from deadlifting & cleaning at heavy weights. The socks do offer some protection and I've noticed less bruises when I wear them!

Yes, a good pair of shoes can really make a huge difference. My husband (who's done multiple marathons) loves his Asics, and that's what I have currently as well. I've also really liked New Balance and Saucony. Never been a fan of Nikes for running, and a lot of other people will say the same, but yeah go to your running…

because fat makes you fat, duhhhhhhh. jk. i eat probably 80g+ of fat per day. i think people are confused because for most of their lives they've heard that "low fat is the way to go!" "fat is bad!' "fat will give you heart attacks!" when all along, healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, avocados, and portion-controlled…

I do CrossFit and was doing strict paleo for a while... now I am paleo-ish... gearing up to go towards a more paleo lifestyle now.

Nature made and one-a-day are not the most "natural" you can get. Go to a natural health food store or a place like Whole Foods - they'll have the most pure stuff! I work for an all-natural supplement company, so I definitely know the benefits of natural vs. synthetic... they're a little more pricy but definitely worth it!

The one by my parents' house has a pizza night and a bagel morning too. I get the whole "community" aspect but I agree with you, I think having free pizza at a fitness place is silly. I also think it's funny they say "no judgement" but they totally judge people who like to lift heavy. :p Other than that, my parents say…

I have been loving spinach lately. It's SO easy to prepare, and it cooks down a lot so you can eat tons of servings! I heat 1-2 Tbls. extra virgin olive oil in a big pan on the stove (med-high heat) with some minced garlic to taste. Add in as many handfuls of spinach that will fit in the pan and cook. Stir occasionally,…

Thanks, Cara!! I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much! :)

If you can get through a week of cold turkey, the headaches will subside! It also helps to up your protein (and healthy fat) levels so you feel more satisfied in sugar's absence :) Good luck!

LOL. I'll throw in my 2 cents here - I've been doing mostly paleo for a couple months now. I notice the more strict I am, the less gas I have. Especially dairy. I've cut out dairy and I barely have any gas. Also, if anyone cares, I have tons of energy and have been making lots of strength gains. I don't totally deprive…

you look awesome!! great work! also... welcome to the dark side ;)

Try 1500-1600 and see how it goes. I consistenly eat around 1600 calories every day and that number "works" for me. See how you feel and if you are progressing! Good luck!

I don't have a set "routine" cause I go to classes. But usually I lift heavy weights, low reps. You've got a great squat going! Some of my max (one rep) lifts (all using a barbell): Deadlift: 220 lbs Back squat: 140 lbs Front squat: 130 lbs Shoulder press: 80 lbs Snatch: 95 lbs Power clean: 110 lbs Overhead squat (5 reps):…

Eat more protein. It's good for you. :)
-
I do - you can message me or friend me if you'd like to chat about it :)

It will really just depend on what works for you. Some people can eat a moderate amount of all their macros and do great with their weight loss! I keep my carbs below 100g per day (or closer to 50g if I don't work out) - only because I feel better this way. I don't get tired in the afternoon and I'm much less bloated. But…

I try to eat more satisfying dinners. Honestly. More food/more FILLING foods at dinnertime will keep you fuller all evening. Also, don't keep your trigger foods in the house. I suppose it helps that I eat dinner pretty late, around 7:30 (after working out).

Like others have said, they're fine in a pinch, but I wouldn't rely on them. There are so many extra ingredients! You don't have to be a chef to prepare healthy meals for yourself! Grab a couple bags of "steam-in-the-bag" vegetables in the fresh produce section. Or just steam veggies yourself and add some seasoning.…

I'd work on doing them on a bar first. (you're giving yourself more stability here.) Work on getting yourself up and over the bar, then the press up. Then move to the rings.

Yep, just substitute the spaghetti squash in your favorite pasta recipe! How to cook it: -Get your oven to 375. Prick the squash a couple times so it won't explode in the oven ;) -Bake for 1 hour in a baking dish (some people like to cut it in half first, but it's easier to cut after you've cooked it.) -If you haven't, cut…

Same here. I struggle hitting it sometimes but that's my goal!

No. The setting on this site is pretty low anyway!! :)
-
Yep, like others have said - the calories that you DO add back, make it all from protein sources. :) Good luck and congrats!

Yes. Squat clean + thruster compound. Works everything. TGU's are hard man!! I hate them!
-
....I workout. Anything other than that and I feel like I wouldn't be working hard enough.

Our box lets anyone try out the open WOD's, then they compile the scores and take the top 5 men and top 5 females to the regionals.. or whatever is next. I don't even know, haha. But yeah. I'll be giving them a try - I don't know if I'll make the top 5, but I'll try!

I do. (no added sugars - I eat fruit.) Feel free to message me if you'd like :)

and also lift weights to lose fat. :) people with more muscle burn more calories at rest.
