  • I worked in a nursing home for several years. ABSOLUTELY a lot more of that happens than one would like to think, and I personally used to have big issues when I would see that. A lot of times it would be a "staff's favorite" resident. Then when I started working with care plans and finding out more about the resident's…
  • Do you have a crockpot? Very beginner friendly.
  • Definitely better to eat than not. Just make sure that you are drinking plenty of water with that high a sodium count. One day isn't going to hurt you.
  • There are debates out there about how much water to drink a day. Personally, I have found that drinking 8-12 glasses a day is perfect for me, higher on a cardio day. From what I have read, to really absorb the water, you should drink about a glass an hour. Otherwise, you are passing most of it through your system.
  • It works if you work at it. I started in January, and the only exercise I could do prior to starting zumba was walking. Thanks to my increased endurance as a result of zumba, I started running in April. I have also added a strength training program. I hit 101 pounds lost this week. If you like it, do it. It is not for…

  • As of today, I am 101 pounds down since November 8, 2010. I would not be where I am if I didn't have eat a cookie here or there. Actually, I eat a dessert every night, but I "fit" it into my day. So far, I don't have the days where I eat a package of cookies, because I have one or two when I want them. That has been THE…
  • Bump - having for dinner tomorrow night.
  • It would be nice if they lasted long enough in my house to make something
  • These look really good if you like chocolate and peanut butter http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/double_peanut_butter_chocolate_cookies.html
  • Unfortunately big boobs are just in my genes. I have been "fitted" for a bra at my highest and was a 40i. Just a week ago at 95 pounds down, I was fitted again. Of course my band size has decreased to a 36, but sadly my cup size has stayed about the same, as I am up to a KK (it actually could/should have an L, but we found…
  • It was pretty miserable for me the first couple of months. I was in PAIN the first mile every time I walked. Once I got past the first mile I was good to go. About 6 months in I started jogging, and the same thing - shin splints, numb toes, knee pain. For me it was just pushing through - I hope you find what works for you.
  • How about something like a chocolate zuchini bread? There are recipes for all kinds of pumpkin dips - pair with fruits, low fat graham crackers, etc. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/11/chocolate-chip-clouds.html http://www.lowfatlifestyle.com/desserts/dessertrecipes/pumpkinpudding2.htm
  • Boredom and stress for sure. Lately I have noticed that days I don't exercise I am hungry all day.
  • THIS, THIS, THIS! http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/12/skinless-chicken-thighs-with-shallots.html
  • I started with this site on November 8, 2010 at 289 pounds and I am currently at just over 90 pounds down.
  • mine is open, feel free to have a look
  • I have something sweet every night. If I didn't I would not be at 90 pounds down right now, I would have fallen off of the wagon a LONG time ago.
  • I know it doesn't always work for everyone, but I log my exercise in the morning (if I'm working out in the afternoon or evening). That way I can more evenly distribute my calories throughout the day. It also makes me more accountable for getting that late workout in - don't want to have had all of those extra calories…
  • You are not a nut. I think all of us larger breasted women think about how much extra weight we carry there. There was a thread back a few months ago where people were trying to weigh them. Of course I have thought about how much extra weight I have there. I have moved from a 40I to 38J and I'm almost down to a 36K/L. Try…
  • Just googled "eggs and skin elasticity: and only positive things came up. Eggs seem to only benefit the health of your skin from what I have read.
  • Most of the time I sing. Singing takes my mind off of how far I have left, how hot it is, etc. I have been told by neighbors that I look like a crazy person huffing and puffing and talking to herself. They also tell me that whatever I'm doing it is working, so I don't mind looking crazy. The last time my ipod went dead…
  • I'll be on vacation next week. I "unofficially" hit 90 pounds lost today. I am planning most of my meals ahead of time, and still plan to log and bump up my exercise for those beach "extras." I realize that this is not everyone's idea of a stress free vacation, but then again I am going with my inlaws! The extra exercise…
  • I started on November 8, 2010 and with my unofficial way in this morning, I have lost 88.5 pounds. My secret - plain old logging calories and exercise.
  • These are many of the things that make a pretty regular rotation: chicken (breast/thighs/whole) spinach ground turkey mushrooms onions tomatoes fresh fruit frozen vegetables ronzoni smart taste prego light spaghetti sauce pepperidge farms stone baked french rolls treat (slim-a-bear ice cream bars, rice pudding - I have…
  • Hi, I also had about 50% body weight to lose. I started on MFP on November 8, 2010 and as of yesterday I am 87 pounds down. MFP and all of the people here have been a great asset. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • open diary here
  • I would love to see an answer to this too. I am a 38J, and currently layer 4 bras for zumba or running. I have a great bra for everyday, which I ordered online, but can't seem to find a sports bra that controls things.
  • Congrats - I will gladly take your sloppy seconds! I am looking forward to meeting the 190's in the next week or two. Like you, I am only interested in a short term relationship.
  • Virginia girl here. I am doing Zumba at least 2 nights a week indoors, but I also jog (usually outside). I have been going out at 5:30-6am to beat some of the heat and humidity. I hate jogging on the treadmill, so I am going to stick with outside for as long as I can take it. I don't know how long that is going to last…
