November 7, 2010 Couldn't sleep at all - something just clicked and I knew I needed to make some kind of change. I sat awake listening to my ipod and thinking about all of the things I thought I should be doing with my life. I started thinking about the things I couldn't do, how much I used to like to dance, run, play, and…

I know exactly where you are coming from. My husband suffered from psoriasis since he was 15. Every time the seasons changed and his psoriasis would flare up, he would get..I don't even think you could call it depressed, it was definitely MUCH worse. Those were just the really bad times, it was bad on a constant basis. His…

You will get used to seeing those numbers go up every month. I freaked out at first, but now I am so used to the normal fluctuations during a regular week that I can tell exactly one day before I start each month. All of the sudden I am up 2 pounds no matter how well I did during the week. Then magically 1-1/2 weeks later…

I was 289 when I started six months ago (now 209). It took me a couple of times to get the steps, and I felt very uncoordinated. Everyone was too busy having fun concentrating on their own steps to care.

I don't find it tedious logging, I actually find it comforting. I have done the weight loss thing twice before over the last 5-6 years, each time losing 50 pounds. Each time I got to my goal I stopped logging (I was doing it in excel on my own back then and looking everything up). Each time I put the 50 back on plus…

I was thinking the same thing this morning, as I just tried almond milk for the first time. I was thinking a healthy shake or smoothie, but pudding.....I'll have to look into that too.

I'm having the same problem. I have been pretty lucky finding things at the thrift stores. I make a list of the things that I have and the colors and carry that with me when I shop. At one or two pieces here and there, it does take longer, but at least I am in a thrift store loaded area. Wish I had better advice for you.…

-Reached and exceeded half way to goal (70lbs since November 8, 2010) -Started C25K only to realize that I could already run a mile at a time (finished the month running 3 miles without stopping) -Actually posted pictures of myself

Me. I just completed week 1/day 1 yesterday.

Like others have said, it is ALL about the instructor. I have two instructors that I LOVE. There are two more instructors at my gym. If I had taken one of their classes first, I wouldn't have stuck with it. They were pretty fun, I felt like I was getting just an ok burn, but with them Zumba got old FAST.

I am going to try at least one or two new recipes a week. I have also tried the Asian Glazed Drumsticks, and the Petite Turkey Meatloaves. Nothing has disappointed me yet.

Yes, yes, yes. I was 289 when I started. There are people of ALL shapes, sizes, and ages in Zumba. It is my favorite exercise, because it doesn't feel like exercise. I was horribly uncoordinated when I started, but after a class or two, you will learn the moves. Now even new songs come more naturally, because I have…

If you know that your amounts are true for the products you are using, use those. You are most likely using different products, so your numbers will vary.

I made that night before last - it was great. If you haven't, you should try her Skinless Chicken Thighs With Shallots in Red Wine Vinegar (Poulet Au Vinaigre). http://www.skinnytaste.com/2010/12/skinless-chicken-thighs-with-shallots.html. It is WONDERFUL!!

You CAN do it. Please do not get discouraged. I started on November 8, 2010 at 289 pounds, and today I am 231 pounds. I started counting calories and walking everyday. In January, I joined a gym (which is not necessary, but I do love my Zumba classes). I log my food a day in advance or the morning of, which is not to say…
