Read the articles at bloodsugar101.com. Readings under 170 are only acceptable if you are okay with continuing down the road to diabetic complications.

In a similar vein, I find myself sitting on my foot again. Years and years ago I always sat with one foot under me. I went through grade school, high school and beyond sitting on my foot. I haven't been able to do that for a long long long time (years and years) . Unfortunately, I usually have to change positions as my…

I'm not even at the half way mark yet but: Being able to reach across my own spine. Able to reach other body parts. Looking down and not recognising my own legs. My thighs and feet look longer. How uneven everything is. My right thigh and knee is a lot bigger than my left. Being uncomfortable in bed because my shape is…

You should feel terrible. You selfishly ate the whole loaf and left nothing for anybody else.

I looked at these. All of them contain soy. I won't be eating them.

You say, "I'm not hungry." This will teach your children not to eat when they are not hungry. You also sit down and enjoy meal time with them anyway but just have something to drink.

I just read about low-carb or high fiber pasta and diabetes. It warned that a sugar spike might not show up within 2 hours of eating such pasta. Check your BG 3-5 hours later. It takes longer for your body to break down that kind of pasta so the glucose impact is delayed. http://www.phlaunt.com/diabetes/14046989.php

Eliminate soy from your diet. Read labels. Soy messes with your thyroid and interferes with thyroid medication. And, do make sure you take your medication on an empty stomach -- 2 hours after eating, 1 hour before eating. The middle of the night is a great time to take it.

I cannot eat fruit, not even tomatoes, without getting a sugar spike.

Maybe it was wearing the wrong cover. I have seen lots of things purported to be low carb that I could never eat and stay low carb.

Total awesomeness.

Along with eating more fat, drink plenty of water and have broth or something salty if you are feeling dizzy.

I had my gallbladder removed several years ago. A year after having it removed I went to the ER in severe pain. I was admitted with pancreatitis. I had a large stone in the common duct. You can develop stones even after the gallbladder is removed. They fixed it so that if I do develop more stones they will not get stuck…

This exactly.

Your BS should be under 140 2 hours after a meal. As you lose weight and gain more control it will get lower than that. But, under 140 is good.

I am so going to try this one. It will have to be a sugar free version though.

There is nothing uniform about sizing. I started at 325# and wore size 26/28 pants and tops. I've lost 79# and am currently 246#. Some my tops are still 26/28 but I can wear some 20s. I can now wear some 1x tops where before I wore 3x. I still have size 24 and 26 jeans. Size 22 fit me really well in dress pants. I have one…

Great ideas. I do need some more measuring cups and spoons. I'm always searching for the right one only to find it in the dirty dishes. I have learned to portion out meat as soon as I get it home from the market. I portioned out ground beef into 1/2 lb packages. Wrapped them all in a bit of wax paper and then put them all…

Then I suggest that you look over this support group and read threads started by people who have successfully controlled their diabetes. See the kind of diets they have chosen. Explore those diets to see which one you think will fit the best for you. Stick to the diet you choose until your next blood work is done to see if…

Any chance you're pregnant?

Do you have a meter? If so, eat to your meter because everybody is a bit different. Start by keeping your meals simple. Example: First morning have eggs and a vegetable or a slice of tomato (not both). 2 hours later test your blood. If it's over 140 then you know that vegetable/tomato is something you can't eat right now.…

Congratulations! Great job.

"Slowly but surely" is the best way to lose weight when you don't have that much to lose. The inability to lose weight, as long as you are eating an adequate amount of calories, for women can often be hormonal. Low carb can help get hormones under control. I would also recommend cutting way back or completely dairy…

Great story. You look beautiful and I love the dress.

How often are you getting cortisone shots? That could definitely stall your weight loss. Also at 5'6" you may not need to lose more weight. You may need to work more on building muscle to get the shape and look you want.

Yep, mostly willpower. There's a few things you can do to help. Increase your fat intake and drink lots of water. If you feel dizzy increase your sodium. Don't let yourself get hungry that first 2 weeks. Avoid fruit for those first few weeks as they will prolong the carb withdrawal. Eat as much protein and fat as you want…

It's calories and nutrients that the baby needs, not excessive carbs. Make sure you are eating plenty of calories and that a healthy portion of those calories comes from fat. The baby needs fats and protein. Don't worry too much about losing weight just watch to not gain too much weight. You will probably want to eat no…

Your emotional bucket is filled to the brim with anger. So, if anything causes the slightest bit of anger or frustration the bucket overflows. It is so full that there's no room left for empathy or sympathy or just caring. Get some professional counselling to help you empty the bucket.

Outstanding results in such a short period of time. Really amazing. Fantastic job taking on such a daunting task.
