  • One of the things that has delayed my step in this direction is the Twelve Step Program that revolves around a certain view of God. I'm not Christian but I'm very spiritual. The concept that they use in the Step program mentions God and Him....which is not conducive with my personal beliefs. With that being said, I'm very…
  • The scale has went up and down this week. No biggie because I lost 2 pounds this week. That's my goal!!!! I did some meal planning but not planning for the week, like I want to accomplish. I did great with my carb goals for the week. I good with my sodium goals everyday except yesterday.....yesterday....yeah....that was…
  • If you eat the donut, then they won't feel so bad about eating a donut. I hate that. If I ate everything that everyone offered, I'd be dead.
  • You most certainly may. You are not late, there is no end and no beginning. Welcome!!!!
  • Btw, I know it's only a few of us really keeping up with each other but I really feel like it's helping. I think because we are sharing all the good and the bad, we are coming to realize that we truly understand each other's struggles. I'm to the point when I see the little successes that each of you are making, I feel…
  • I'm hanging in there!!! I've actually been able to keep my sodium down under 2,300 mg. since I made this post. Two more days, lol. I wish my shakes had less sodium in them, but grateful that actually taste good and fill me up. I've been doing great with my carbs. I went shopping and have the individually frozen chicken…
  • Personally, I wouldn't go below 1200 on a regular basis. I think your calorie goals are perfect....slower loss is not bad. Just stick to what you are doing and exercise. You are living a healthy lifestyle and that's what really matters.
  • According to the BMI charts, a normal wealthy weight for a woman that is 5'1 is between 100 lbs and 127 lbs. Anything under is considered underweight and anything over is considered overweight. Since your muscle mass and bone mass are factors it depends. If you are muscular and do a lot exercise, especially lifting, I…

  • Way to go, Elaicea!!! You had great goals for last week and you did it!!! We all know how hard it is to change behavior and every little success should be celebrated. Please, tell me what are you going to do for yourself for the success you had last week. I plan on saving things like trips to the movies for every five…
  • What is frozen triple berry mix?
  • Seeing how I already blew one of my goals for the week. I'm going to modify it slightly. New goals. 1. Meal planning and prepping ~ spend the next couple of nights creating my meal plan. - Saturday, shop and prep. 2. Keep my carbs within my allotted amount everyday. 3. Keep sodium below 2300 everyday. ****Make that five…
  • If you are here to lose weight, then being below your calorie goals is the most important part. Everything else is nice and important for optimal health but second to the main goal. So, you are doing great!!!! I hope you feel better, quickly.
  • My goals for last week. "Prep foods for the week on Saturday. ~ Failed! Stay on point with carbs, at least six out of seven days. ~ I DID IT!!!! Keep sodium below 2000 six days." ~ I did it for four days again. New goals. 1. Meal planning and prepping ~ spend the next couple of nights creating my meal plan. - Saturday,…
  • That is great. I struggled all weekend but I managed to stay within range and I logged everything, including the crap that I ate. I was surprised that I ate those things and still stayed within my goals. I guess since I've been going hard core during the week, a few indiscretions on the weekend wasn't really so bad.
  • For losing weight, yes. For being healthy, absolutely not. I am a diabetic and I have high blood pressure. Weight loss/control is only one part of being healthy. Exercise and eating food that is good for you MATTERS. For those who only watch their calories, you may not have issues today but one day you most likely will.
  • I have now tried Strawberry Butter Mmmmmmmmm. Less calories and carbs than jelly but really good. I also LOVEEEE mixed fruit jelly and apple jelly and apple butter....I'm going to stop now.
  • Yes, that is correct but it measures much more than your body movement. It also measures your body's surface temperature, sweat response and the rate at which heat leaves your body.
  • Good advice, Jan. We don't. I think that I, personally, am becoming more proactive, than reactive. That perspective is a good way to remember that somebody may be having a bad day or be going through something, so it's good to treat them with kindness.
  • That is great way to look at things. Very positive approach. Love it!!!
  • I have learned that I do better if I am forgiving of myself when I slip. If not, it's not good. I'm having a nuclear renogram done next Thursday, which will demonstrate to what level my kidneys are functioning. If the left isn't up to par...I will have the kidney stone removed from my right kidney on August 8th and the…
  • Yes, welcome!!!! I understand the whole scale thing. It's getting better, it is way easier to find a higher weight scale than just a few years ago. Unfortunately, it's because there are more and more people in our situation. So, you don't have to wait a week to post. You can post every little success and setback that you…
  • I think we are all doing great. I also think that one thing that we all need to do is meal planning. I will let you guys know if I find a tool to make it easier. Great job!!!!
  • Try this one on for size....it's got the berry thing going on and it's low in calories, sugar and fat. I've taken it to parties and people tore it up....not even realizing it is sugar-free and "diet" food. Recipe name Blueberry Jello Salad Serves people 8 Ingredients Calories Carbs Fat Protein Chol Sodium Blueberries -…
  • I'm budgeting myself, lol. Well, I'm actually modifying. I bought some turkey burgers last night. I checked the ingredients, macos and micros. Sodium is a little high but not too bad, so I have to watch it. I need to find some low sodium cheese, lol. I can't have a burger without cheese. I will eat that on Friday. I need…
  • So, what I left out last week is that the first week of being back in the saddle, I lost 8 lbs. I gained them back last week :(. I'm back down 4 lbs. I kept to my sodium goals four days (my goal was five, but that is serious progress) and my carb goals five days (on goal). I have to get better at tracking. My doctor put me…
  • Yeah, I'm having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I'm trying, though. I know once I get the test that I need to have done and the results, I will be more focused on what I should be. With that being said, I'm still trying hard to focus, regardless. :frown:
  • Thanks! I'm thinking the more simple that I keep my goals and more they are in sync with what's most important with my health....the more likely I'm going to have progress. I'm thinking the difficulty with sticking to coming in under the sodium goal is one of the main reasons I'm in this mess in the first place. I used to…

  • Okay, so this week was a wash for me....for the most part. I mostly stayed within my carb allotment. I didn't meet my exercise goals but it was close. I strayed away from my eating plan. I found out that I have kidney disease and I am waiting on my insurance company to approve a nuclear test to determine the levels of my…
