I ran my fastest half training for my full too! Op-do you have a gym you can go to with an awful dreadmill? I personally would rather run in -5 degree weather than to run on a treadmill. I have run a half while training only on a treadmill, but my joints hurt after the half so I always make sure to get one run a week on…

I run with my Austrian Shepard! The longest I've taken him is 6 miles. It's usually 2-3 miles. He's much better behaved when he gets to run with me. He's kind of an askhole when he doesn't workout. Just like me.

I understand loving soda. Diet soda is a good substitute. Coke zero has been a life saver for me.
-
I prefer gym mostly because i get a free gym membership with my job. But also, I need the social aspect of a gym.

Keep lifting while you lose weight. Watch out for inflated calorie burns for cardio here on MFP
-
I tried waist training when I was younger (and uneducated) It did absolutely nothing. Save your money and go get a pedicure instead.

Unfortunately, you can not target fat loss with exercise alone. A calorie deficit, a progressive lifting program, and some protein will be your best friends.
-
Oh and I've been lifting for over a year.
-
I'm on week 4. I really wish there was an upper/lower split as the most convenient, best days for me to lift are Thursday's and Fridays.

I ran a full marathon in 2016! But I definitely gained weight. 2017 I hope to run a full marathon and maintain my weight!
-
Nice! Get it!

Oh I would love to only eat 1500 calories a day and lose a pound a week while feeling somewhat satisfied. I tried doing it for a couple weeks and ended up binging every weekend (killing my deficit) because I felt so so so hungry. I have to set my diary to lose .5 pounds a week or i can't stick to it.

Unfortunately they don't work how they say they do. They may have a small laxative in them to help their claims, but that's about it.

Oh the dreadmill. I have a love hate relationship with my gyms dreadmills as I feel like every single one is wrong about my speed. But it could be from boredom. I find audio books and speed work are the only things that keep my sanity on a dreadmill.

Another vote for "Team Food Scale" here. One more question: how are you calculating your workout calorie burns?
-
I gained weight training for my full marathon but that was expected as I understand it happens to some runners that have issues estimating calorie burns (I will say a HRM does not work for hilly runs and that's all I had to train with) But now I'm losing steadily again and running only a little during the week.

Activity level is what you do that is not exercise. example- I'm a ballet teacher and my activity level is perfect at lightly active. I teach 5x days a week. I never log that as exercise except for Friday's when I teach 3 classes in a row.

I've lost more weight (and kept it off) eating pizza and French fries (in moderation) than I ever did with any other diet. Not bread though. Turns out I don't like bread and I've always just eaten it because I thought I was suppose to. But i find it so sweet, it's gross. It's like eating a hamburger but the bun is cake,…

I prefer mornings because I have more energy. Other people prefer nights because they have more energy

I have a cousin who is a personal trainer and we will argue and argue about nutrition. His argument is always, "I do this for a living and I have success with telling my clients low carb/no carb/carb timing (I can never remember which one he preaches) what are your credentials?" "Science." Is always my reply.

I gained weight when I was "clean eating" obviously I was in a surplus, but I was told by countless blogs that I could eat as much as I wanted as long as I ate clean. I lost all my weight while eating pizza, pasta, cookies and French fries, in moderation.
-
Easy. But it's really not a fair comparison or test as I've been doing ballet since I was 4.

Ballet teacher here (and I do Zumba for fun). Dancing, by itself, has never made me, "toned." I do Zumba because I enjoy it and so i can eat more. However, after I started lifting more, my technique has been absolutely outstanding. I land pirouettes more often and my leaps are higher than ever. I wish I would have started…

I'm 5'9" 160 and I log one hour as 300 and i lose perfectly well with that burn.

I find if I have a bowl of cereal with while milk, I'm less hungry later. If I have a bowl of cereal with skim milk, I always want another.
-
You didn't mention logging your food, are you constantly and accurately logging what you consume?
-
I drink a glass of wine or 2 most every night and I've been losing fine. I gave up drinking for a month for my marathon training but I turned into this huge witch towards my husband and kids. So for everyone's sanity, i need my one or 2 glasses of wine every night.
-
I always have to save myself 300 calories to eat right before bed because I can not sleep if I'm hungry. You're good.

Depends on your stats.
