Great discussion. I teach ballet for a living and I've been implementing dynamic stretching in the beginning of class and static stretching at the end of class for years because of these studies. But when I substitute teach for other teachers and do dynamic stretching in the beginning of class I ALWAYS get backlash from…

This was me on keto (I was on it for a month) It was a struggle to get out of bed everyday and I could not stop crying constantly. But a little after I ate a handful of Mike and Ike's - I was back to feeling normal. I will never do keto again unless medically necessary.

Ugh sleep has not been great. But I've always had sleeping problems. Alcohol has been the easiest way for me to get to sleep. I'm using melitonin right now.

Use your kid as your workout. -Go to the playground and play instead of hanging off to the side. -If they're littler- use them as your lifting (I may or may not have just used my 5-year-old to do goblet squats.) -put on a dance video on YouTube and do the dance with your kid My kids love when they get to help me workout.

I'm doing dry January (except one day- tomorrow) but mostly because I found myself drinking more than I would like to admit and I need a small break.
-
Mine's open. I like to eat a lot.

"You don't have to count calories if you eat clean! You'll lose weight natural!" I stupidly believed this. And guess what.... I gained weight. Funny how that happens.

Some may consider my job exercise (dance teacher) so if you consider that exercise then I exercise 7 days a week. But times I actually go to the gym is 4x a week

Fitness Blender is awesome

I would suggest throwing in a progressive lifting program for your days off. I teach dance and I consider that to be my workout. However, my hip-hop kids recently asked me to teach them "the worm" so I'm lifting to get stronger so I can actually do "The Worm" after Christmas break.

I have a 1-year-old. No longer breastfeeding, but I found that setting my diary to gain half a pound a week put me in a slight deficit.
-
I don't use the stationary bike too much; but when I do, I put my fitbit on my ankle. Does okay for me.
-
I set my diary to gain half a pound a week while I was nursing to try and give myself a deficit.
-
Yep. I have my diary set to lose 2 pounds this week (instead of the usual 1) just so I can enjoy my husband's pumpkin risotto and mashed baked potatoes and still lose.

I'm loving most of these answers! My family is convinced that when one of us turns 35 they gain a bunch of weight and they'll be overweight the rest of their lives and there's nothing we can do about it because it's in our genetics. I'm about to turn 34 and I can't wait to prove them wrong in the next couple of years.

I breastfed all 3 of my boys(10, 4, and 10 months) For me personally- it's not "holding onto extra weight because you're breastfeeding" It's "holding onto extra weight because you're hunger cues are out of control because you're breastfeeding" I could not be in the slightest deficit because my hunger cues were absolutely…

I have the same issue (the absolute last place I will lose weight is my hips and thighs) But it sounds more like you have an issue staying in a deficit. Log EVERYTHING you eat (I literally just logged a bite of a sugar cookie that I are from my child's cookie) And weigh everything you consume.

I'm 5'9. Friend request sent. But don't look at my diary this upcoming week. I have a huge weekend planned next weekend so I'm banking some calories in order to eat a lot.

Eating more to lose fat? If we're being technical - when you lose weight slowly and have a progressive lifting program you're going to lose more fat than muscle. Where as if you lose weight rapidly fast- you're going to lose fat and muscle (and its hard to get that muscle back!) So technically.... Yes, you can eat more to…

First of all - with the exercise calorie burn mfp gives you, it's usually only 50% accurate. Second - you say house work and such, was it constant moving 6 hours of house work? For me, daily house work would probably equal out to 500 calories extra. But I'm stopping to empty the dishwasher, fold laundry, organize toys.…

Alright so I couldn't get through all 214 pages so I'm not sure if this question has been asked before. Do you HAVE to take a diet break every 12 weeks? Can you go longer in a deficit if you feel satisfied all the time?
-
It's all jealousy. They like the way you look and hate it because you're showing them up.
-
I make mine into a banana protein shake. Its gooooodddd
-
I love when I randomly feel cold... That's how I know I'm doing the deficit correctly hahaha.
-
My bad. Flex 2 is in the price range and is water resistant. But it doesn't have all the smart watch features.
-
Hopefully it's a glitch. I love looking at people's diaries for inspiration
-
I liked the fitbit flex ($60)

I definitely look my actual age when I lose weight. When I'm bigger, I look younger. I got asked if my 10-year-old was my little brother at my biggest hahaha.

I found with breastfeeding, my hunger cues were ridiculous. I felt lightheaded and figuratively exhausted unless I was eating something constantly. I tried to log and get a small deficit to lose weight but I was so hungry I would end up in a binge and wipe my small deficit out. I'm done breastfeeding now and my hunger cues…
