  • I am not drinking enough water at the moment but it's something I'm working on. I always complained in the past that water has no taste, especially not in this part of the UK where tap water is very pure, so I tried drinking flavored water and I also found that ice cold water has a bit of a taste to it and is really…
  • I can't say I agree with you, I personally think, from what I have figured out from your post, that you are a lovely beautiful person who anyone would be lucky to have. Having said that though I am nineteen and I have never had a boyfriend or even kissed a boy in my life, so I do know how you feel in terms of guys not…
  • It's odd, because the gym is the one place I don't care how bad I look, but I can relate to that feeling completely. I think, as difficult as it is, the only thing you can do is focus entirely on you, why you're there and how this will benefit you and how much better you will look for it. Hard I know, I find that having an…
  • I'm going to University and I want to change and not be 'the fat girl' I was in secondary school. Also want to be an actress and I'm aware that casting directors want you to 'look the part' and being slightly heavier won't get me doing the roles and the type of theater I want to do.
  • Music is pretty much the only way I get through my workouts. I'm not up for casually popping into the gym like some of my friends do. If I go I go to work hard and there's no way I could if I didn't have any music.
  • I tend to just have a bowl of fruit, but at the moment we're snowed in so I'm living off just banana's until the snow clears :)
  • Completely agree :)
  • I haven't been diagnosed or anything, but I do have bouts of severe depression and with school on top of all that, you can imagine how my lifestyle gets put on the back burner for a while. I just listen to my body, for me it is important to not rush things and just go at my own pace and if I am having a bad day I try to…
  • I always thought that the item I couldn't give up was fizzy pop. but I'm really being risky and trying not to drink fizzy pop for the month and see how I feel at the end, if all goes well it could be the end of my addiction to caffeine. Having said that tho' I cannot live without coffee shop drinks e.g. Starbucks…
  • I would always go for the fruit and veg. if you can, but having said that that's not the way I started. I think if you're starting off and you've been struggling with everything for a good few weeks then portion control may be a good way to get used to it and to start off. But like I said healthy food is always better.
  • Hello. I'm sorry for the not so speedy reply, with mock exams going on finding time to come on the boards is quite difficult. I have not considered getting someone else to talk to my parents, but I don't think that the counselling place I'm at at the minute would do that, I guess because you pay your money's worth [I don't…
  • Hello. I know how you feel, especially with the stress thing, I'm seventeen so in the middle of applying for university and stuff so yeah ... I know how the stress thing feels. I think the important thing is to learn to forgive yourself, I have had so many bad days on here and I have gained back weight I have lost quite a…
  • Hello. I have thought about telling my counsellor about it but I just don't feel comfortable at all. There are times as well when she says things that trigger me and I want to tell her that it triggers me but I don't feel like I can. I think that the counselling place is private, not an NHS thing ... but I'm not sure. I…
  • I'm probably no use to you since I don't notice what normal is for most people but I try to do an hours solid work.
  • I can't say I know any gym offences because I only just got my gym pass a few weeks ago and haven't been going as often as I should for various reasons, but I wouldn't be offended by that at all. I'm not saying I would be pleased at all, but I wouldn't be offended, after all it's nothing personal really.
  • Good for you, I'm glad that other people's criticism hasn't put you off. I do know the feeling though, when I tell my friends that I cannot have certain foods because I'm trying to 'get in shape' {I avoid the word 'diet' at all costs} there are some people I know who wave chocolate bars in my face, no joke. It's so…
  • Raspberries and Strawberries. I get through the whole pack so easily these days.
  • I have an audition in the morning so I have to go to bed early and can't really look at everyone's comments, but it would be good to see what everyone's tips are since I will be going to Uni. in September and could do with some advice on doing workouts before lectures {I don't do any now because the gyms not open in time…
  • Don't worry I don't judge you for suggesting meds. My grandad was addicted to pain killers, different drug I know, but since then I have always wanted to feel like I can do without medicine and I don't want to rely on things the way he used to and even if it's perfectly safe there's always a risk. I do really want to tell…
  • We have 999 here in the UK and there are a load of eating disorder hotlines but talking about it, face to face or at least where someone can hear your voice is still scary for me, online I can do it because you never see or hear me really, but when people can it's ... it's something I struggle with certainly. 999 tends to…
  • I know the feeling and I wish I could be of more use to you :(. I'm lucky in the sense that the weights and the cardio are in the same room so even though the super toned people are over in the weights section you can always turn your head and have all the cardio people there as a sort of support if you like ... The only…
  • I fit into that category, I don't have an open diary but be assured I do eat :)
  • I completely agree with the whole 'you're losing too much weight' thing, especially since I am still seen as 'at risk {female young adult }. No one paid attention to me as I was developing Binge Eating Disorder, so I don't see why now, when I am trying to get back on track and set myself right I should come up against a…
  • 162 Days and far from giving up :) well done for the dedication, really admire you and feel free to add me :)
  • Mine is to get through my A Levels, with the grades I will need to go to University to study drama and start making a life for myself away from the dependency of my parents :). That and just to generally have the best year of my life.
  • I get what you mean about wanting to work out, but do beware of over working yourself. If you feel like you need to workout, maybe only do half an hour so as not to overwork yourself, but if you wake up and feel okay about having a rest day I would take a rest day. It depends how you feel to be honest.
  • I can't avoid much food I don't want in the house, since I still live with my parents who are very much eat what you want when you want, but the one thing I won't have in the house is weight watchers deserts, they are just soo moreish I can't stop.
  • Hello, Really can relate to your problem. I sometimes end the day on 800 calories and its not because I haven't eaten enough it's simply because I've been walking a lot or I got to my fencing class half an hour early or stuff like that. I personally try to eat some of my exercise calories back, but don't get obsessive…
  • To be honest falling off the wagon is aright from time to time as long as you get back on as soon as possible. I have fallen off so many times and now I'm seeing a loss again :) it's amazing. I think it depends on what works, if you know that you can always talk yourself into it then brilliant do that. For me it doesn't…
  • I believe that if a woman wants to go on the front line [I never would but that's just me personally] then she should be allowed. I understand what you're saying about worse things happening to women compared to men, but I think as long as you know the risks your taking. Women can do just as well on the front line as men…
