  • Fitbit One lover!! I do quite a bit of walking on the treadmill WHILE WORKING so I was afraid the Flex wouldn't work for me with my hands up on my computer. The Zip is good too, it just doesn't calculate stairs (which also means more calories burned!) or sleep. So if you don't care about stairs and sleep, the Zip is a…

  • If you are logging your running as exercise here on MFP, then eat back your exercise calories. MFP has already taken the deficit that you need to lose weight, so even if you eat every single exercise calorie back, you are still eating at a deficit!
  • WOW! That is one hell of an accomplishment and I can feel how proud you are through your story!! Rock on with your bad@ss self!! Edit to add: Your arms/upper body looks freaking amazing!
  • I'm about 30 miles south of Madison too! Always loving more WI friends so feel free to add me! They always understand the beer, brats, and CHEESE in my food diary! Oh and our awesome weather too.
  • I also have the Mirena and have lifted well over 100 lbs without any issues. Actually I haven't had any issues with my Mirena in general, but I know ladies that don't do any form of exercise and had all sorts of issues with theirs falling out, cramps, etc. (I also felt it caused me to gain 15+ lbs but I'm only 5 lbs away…
  • We are frequent campers and I need new food ideas!! I've been making egg/cheese/ham bagels for camping breakfasts lately. Nice protein/carb mix to start the day right. We usually do deli meat sandwiches, fruit, cottage cheese, chips/pretzels for lunch, and hot dogs/brats/burgers over the fire for dinner. Lately I've been…
  • Wow!! I read the article and I'm amazed! Congratulations to you and Diane! Truly inspiring!
  • 1 hr low cardio 5x/week (treadmill WHILE working) plus 30-120 min/week jogging/biking/hiking. Just depends on the week and what we are up to.
  • Looking fabulous and rocking your new curves!
  • One of the best success stories I've read yet. THANK GOD there is someone else out there that likes chocolate and booze! I also absolutely LOVE your "for the newbies" post. You nailed it! Oh and you look freaking awesome!
  • Thank you for sharing your story. Your words hit home today as I've been slowly losing my motivation lately, and reminding myself that some of this is HABIT, and I need to just do it, was just want I needed to hear. I LOVE that your mom joined you in your journey too. You look marvelous and as others have said, very…
  • We have a vertical workstation (which I'm on right now) where I can walk on a treadmill while working. I sign up for an hour every day. You can't walk super fast, but it's movement and I usually end up walking a couple miles. Actually I get SUPER restless now if I don't walk while working. I will also sometimes run up/down…
  • Sensa has Silica in it. Yes, like those little packets you see in your new shoes that says DO NOT EAT. It's just meant to make you feel fuller faster.
  • WOW! What an amazing accomplishment. You look great!
  • Great job! 1lb/week is a great loss and slow and steady wins the race. I keep reminding myself that slow is better because it's teaching and reinforcing better eating habits. You should be very proud of your accomplishments in just a year! And I used to log cleaning too...it's exercise, so log it!
  • For strength I recommend 2-3 days a week. Strength needs rest days! Also, if you follow a simple program, that is allowing you to max out your reps at a higher weights such as Stronglifts 5x5 or pyramid style lifting, you will find you won't be in the gym a full hour. On strength days I'm in and out in 30-45 minutes. You…
  • I refuse to give up booze so... I have had to make a conscious effort to pass up a beer on a regular basis...especially when it's just one of those "beer after work" things where I only drink one or two. However, I have NOT passed up a beer or margarita or whatever else I enjoy drinking when it comes to girl's night out,…

  • I set my MFP manually to my TDEE - 20% number and also set my Fitbit to lose 1lb/week (500 cal deficit) since it's syncing to MFP. That has me really really close to having my Fitbit adjust my calories up and down for that day's activities. However I usually ignore those Fitbit fluctuations since I'm doing TDEE - 20%…
  • I am 67.5 inches and currently 234. My TDEE is averaging at 2795/day and eat around 2100/day. I walk slowly on the treadmill 1hr/5days a week, Yoga once a week, strength once a week. Additional brisk walks/jogs/hikes 1-3 times/week so maybe 30-120 min/week "active" activity (per Fitbit). Is your 1 hr/4x week hardcore? How…
  • I call mine a FUPA too...or a kangaroo pouch, and it's ALL lower stomach (under the belly button). I'll show you mine in another 20 lbs! LOL It's shrinking, that's for sure. I'm super interested to see how it looks when it's gone!
  • Those are amazing results all around!! Wow! (I'm speechless  )
  • I aim for 2000/day and enjoy lifting heavy (usually 5x5 style). Feel free to add me!
  • Thank you for being honest about what happens after you've maintained your new lifestyle and shape for awhile. Nobody ever really thinks of that, but you are absolutely right that the novelty will wear off. You ROCK for continuing your new lifestyle even when you don't get all of the daily outside reminders anymore. THAT…
  • We have recently discovered the Cam-Rock county trails near Cambridge, WI. I know that isn't very "state line" but they were great trails with park/shelter areas for lunch and bathroom breaks.

  • Amazing! You are doing awesome and these photos prove it!
  • My "I'm Strong" moment came when I was filling sandbags last Friday as we have major flooding around us. We had quite the pile building up and needed to move them to another area out of the way. Without thinking I picked up two, one in each hand, and walked them to where they needed to be. They were heavy but not…
  • I'm trying to permanently move out of the unconscious eater category. Emotional eating and not letting food waste are my biggest to overcome. I was always taught to clean my plate and now I need to learn that I need to stop when I feel full and that it's not necessary to clean my plate PLUS my children's. It's still hard…
  • Wow. Thank you for sharing your story and your new found passion for life with not only us, but others in your community. You are an amazing inspiration!
  • I'm in WI too. WHAT IS WITH THIS WEATHER!??! I'm just south of Madison and this dreary cold stuff is definitely taking a toll on my mood this week. P.S. Your avatar is the same picture I'm using as my avatar on a work slimdown challenge I'm doing. Fun! :)
