You can do this! Like others said, set mini goals and give yourself HEALTHY rewards. Maybe after 25 lbs you buy yourself a Fitbit. YES, just start walking. You will be amazed at what happens. When I started I walked for 30 minutes, then I wanted more so I walked an hour, then I wanted more so I went to the gym and rode the…

Edgerton here! Snow is gone, this past weekend was GORGEOUS, and here comes the rain! Happy (WI) Spring!

I was going to ask where you are going to take another 30 from too! You look wonderful! Awesome job!

In Feb I logged13 days of the month and lost 1.6 lbs. In March I logged 29 days of the month and lost 4.8 lbs. Exercise was identical. Logging WORKS!

What is your Fitbit goal set to? I have MFP set to custom calculations (TDEE -20%) and then I told Fitbit that I want to lose 1 lb/week, so they calculate that as -500 calories/day. For example: MFP is set to 2030 calories/day Fitbit is set to burn 2600/day If my burn today per Fitbit is 2600, it adds 170 to MFP and says I…

There was just another thread on this exact topic! :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912300-any-success-stories-using-the-tdee-20-15-method

I went back and reviewed what I logged for my Feb diary since I was using MFP recommendations (1600) plus eating back my exercise calories. In Feb I was averaging more like 1950/day with the exercise cals, so I jumped right into TDEE-20% since it wasn't that huge of a jump for me (100 cals). Personally if I was going from…

I've been doing TDEE -20% for one month (tomorrow) and have lost 4.8 lbs. I have a desk job and always thought I was sedentary but forced myself to use the lightly active TDEE based on all the research I did saying very few people are truly sedentary. Less than 2 weeks ago I bought a Fitbit and guess what, my lightly…

^^ THIS! And... This is NOT how this is going to end. (seriously, I have to DO THIS!) Only worry about today. (I often get inpatient, and want to be me in a year) All with a few more swear words.

Great read!

Mileage as of 3/20 - 45.60 We still have snow on the ground and today was a high of 21 degrees. Come on Spring!!

Can I piggyback onto this topic, specifically for those following IPOARM? I'm also in the "birthday-coming-up-and-I-think-I-want-one" club. Did you find that it was pretty close to online BMR/TDEE calculators? Was it worth it to see this number daily?

Do not worry about tomorrow, or next month...focus on today. Do your best TODAY! 13 lbs does not equal failure. The point is you will be 75(ish) closer then you were when you started, right!?!? 75 lbs is amazing! Plus, you will have a lot of NSV's to focus on too, don't worry about the scale!

Thank you for this great list!

Awesome job! You are rocking this!! I love seeing before/afters especially when people start off around the same weight as me! Truly inspirational!!

You guys are adorable! Congratulations to BOTH of you!! You both look amazing!

I know right? It seriously blew my mind, yet made SO much sense. This is not just a battle with weight, but with your MIND. A battle you have to be damned determined to win. You have your own brain working against you! Coincidentally another "weekly update" they sent talked about how much more people lose when they have a…

I would eat a snack right before leaving work or right when I got into the car. Nuts, string cheese, SOMETHING. Curbed my hunger feelings. Oh and music...have yourself a little dance party and the time flies!

THIS was my life. No instant results...FAILURE! I took a year to love me for me. Once I did that, and built up some confidence in my body, my mindset changed to wanting to be HEALTHIER rather than skinnier. Is it frustrating to not see the scale move sometimes? Yep, but I FEEL better. I am STRONGER. I am getting HEALTHIER!…

Read this "article" I got a couple weeks ago as part of a work "Slimdown Challenge" I'm doing...

I  NSV's Sunday: Tried a bunch of (new-to-me) protein rich foods (greek yogurt, quest bar, protein powder) and actually liked them. Monday: Deadlifted 165lbs 1RM and bench pressed 85lbs 1RM Tuesday: Resisted a second (massive) taco at dinner and made a little taco salad instead to fill me up, keeping me under my…

I love this! A year of hard work is amazing in itself and it SURELY paid off! Thank you for the reminder to enjoy that snack or dessert every once in awhile. Just shows that "eat less - move more" really does work! You don't have to follow a crazy workout to see results. Congrats on your amazing achievement Caitlin!!

 so I remember to try some of these recipes

I struggle with breakfast because I haven't seemed to get it "just right" yet, but here are some I've had lately... small toasted bagel w/cream cheese OR carrot bran muffin and a banana 3 hard boiled eggs steel cut oats with a tbsp of brown sugar cheesy scrambled eggs (2) and a couple pieces of bacon rolled in a tortilla…

March Goal - 80 miles Feb Mileage - 75.60 miles (all indoors, too much snow here!) Mileage so far... 9.6 And I need to find a trail-a-bike for my youngest so we can hit the state park trails once the weather warms up (it doesn't warm up here for another month or so and her training wheels make it TOUGH on dirt/rock trails)

Tagging so I can reference later! :) I am new to the "needs more protein" so I am loving all the ideas!
