if this is the extent of your daily activity, you could probably set your settings to "sedentary" and then log it. or, you could probably set your settings to "lightly active", and don't log it. my guess is that it's close to a wash. remember that if you log it, mfp is known to overestimate actual calories you burn.

i think "normal daily activities"--things you do more days than not--are what you use to decide your activity level (ie sedentary, lightly active, active, etc.). i do not log normal cleaning or walking i do every day that is not my "exercise". i don't log chasing around my 2 eighteen month olds because i do it every day,…

i grew up on a farm in nebraska, and "farm people" tend to say "breakfast, dinner, supper". i say "breakfast, lunch, dinner." supper has a bit of hillbilly connotation to me, don't know why. (i can say that since i grew up on a farm... :) )

I did Curves before I got married 7+ years ago, and it was great for my goals at that time. I can see how for someone more "fit" or "closer to their fitness goals" than me, it couldbecome a non-challenge, but for me, it worked. It is a little over 30 minutes, it is all women (most of whom have similar struggles with weight…

this formula, i understand and have used. my issue/question was with the fact that there's a lot of difference between 108 and 144. is it best to stay up near 144 for as much as my workout as possible, to vary it between 108 and 144, something else, etc. (using your numbers as an example)?

thank you. i definitely need a hr monitor. although i don't "hold the bars" for long periods of time on the treadmill, it is necessary to do a little bit to test my hr occasionally, at present. i believe i have a hr monitor watch from when i was doing p90x. which, i did faithfully for over 2 months and never lost a pound.…

I could be misunderstanding but I think you're combining or interchanging MFP's settings and TDEE which are totally different. On MFP I think he's sedentary because on MFP you are supposed to eat back exercise calories so you set your setting to exclude exercise--only include your activity level outside of whatever…

perhaps try something in between...like 2100 calories...and see how you feel/whether you lose? (that's based on nothing mathematical, i just think 2600 is probably a little high but understand you're feeling 1800 is too low). also make sure you're eating back at least some of your exercise calories.

i understand weight CAN BE a factor in whether or not a person has a difficult or easier time getting pregnant, and i myself did have a miscarriage, but i also gave birth, as an obese person, to twins, who are now 17 months old and completely healthy. explaining the health benefits of losing weight and being a complete…

I was afraid to step on the scale but did this morning anyway--and LOST 2.8 from last Friday. Weird. Not complaining.

April 20. Hitler. That's about it. ETA: But apparently many folks that work jobs where they're in a position to check my ID (well, back in my younger days) WISH they shared it (ie, doormen, bartenders, gas station clerks)...as I got a lot of "4/20...that's soooo awesome...".

good point. wish my job required an xbox. but the other stuff, you do have a point.

sorry, the first part about how you have no money for food and are on WIC plus the second part about trainers, behavior science consultants, workout machines, and 360 game consoles leaves me shaking my head too much to put any real effort into suggestions or ideas. good luck to you though.

I agree, I don't think anyone did say Fifty Shades was well-written...but if they did, I'm right behind you on the b...slapping. I don't know how I made it through the first one. Two of my issues...she uses some word NO ONE uses in everyday life...then 2 pages later, there it is again. If you're going to use the Thesaurus…

Have you seen the American movie? I have (it was okay, they changed the ending, wtf)...just wondering if the Swedish movies are really much better. If they're also just "okay" I'll probably pass.

There are 3 books in the series. The second two, I think, are much different than the first. Not better or worse, just different. I loved them all.

As I said before...I ditto this for sure. And her other two books, I couldn't put them down. Can't wait for her to write more.

I was going to suggest Gillian Flynn. All three of her books are really good...if you like the chick mystery type with pretty messed up psychological thriller mixed in. She's a master at "f-ed up woman." I throw in one of the Janet Evanovich "One for the Money" series here and there when I need a light reading break. Funny…

embarrassing...but i always wanted a ventriloquist dummy...it was like $120 in the jcpenney christmas catalogue. thankfully my parents were smart enough not to buy it. now, i detest jeff dunham. perhaps it's leftover childhood bitterness.

I have 16 month old twins, commute 2 hours per day, and work full time. I know it's not easy. Instead of the gym, my husband and I recently found a deal on a quality treadmill on Craigslist, and decided that in the long run a big purchase like this would be worth it for our health. This will be our Christmas present to…

I have never done Nutrisystem but have done Jenny Craig...3 times. Same idea. It worked for me when I was doing it. Worked great. Food is actually pretty good. Expensive, but pretty good. However, it inevitably gets old, especially if you have a lot to lose, like I did. And, every time I've done it, I've gained everything…

' uhhh yeah this...and we seem to have an abundance of non-handwashers...i want to run out of the stall with my pants around my ankles and accost them. this really grinds my gears.

Never used the Diaper Genie, ever. Or the changing table pad very often. Could have done without both. Got way too much Desitin. Returned the bottle warmer. A cup of hot water works fine. Best thing I got that I never would have thought of -- you can buy these round soft mat things that lay on the floor for the baby to lay…

How tall are you, OP? (Sorry if this is mentioned elsewhere and I missed it). Also, you mentioned you lost the first 70 pounds through diet alone--do you recall how long that took? Congratulations on your amazing success!
