bitter much?

enter a new starting weight to whatever you weigh now and it will show zero weight loss...i think?

Upon reflection I realize I probably made an unfair, sweeping generalization about "men". I only limited it because, alas, my experiences are limited to men. I'm sure women do the same thing and, therefore, I'll extend my unfair, sweeping generalization to all of humanity. Your ability to sense sarcasm online is uncanny.

The restraining order says you're not to contact me. Tsk.

Ugh, that stinks. I'm sure you know this, but if he took the break-up badly and responds to your text trying to engage you in conversation, you should refrain. I've learned guys can find a way to take any form of communication (even well-meaning and innocent) out of context. A good work out will help, always does.

I thought to QFT you actually had to Q something? Am I confused about this interweb jargon?

oh, honey.

I've been told you should only count 25 percent of your time if you are using a cart. You can count it all if walking. Jealous, btw.

I never make a premeditated decision to take a certain day off, or not. That said, I may or may not stay within my caloric goal on Super Bowl Sunday. Regardless, I try to make better decisions than I would have made pre-"lifestyle change". I take a smaller portion, I skip a dish I probably would have tried before so I can…

self-righteous much? as with anything, just try to moderate. drink a glass of water between drinks. i remember when i was your age, there was this mentality that every night out was going to be the most awesome night ever. if i say no, i might miss something amazing. believe me, you won't miss anything by saying no once in…

I think the problem is that you can find "factual information" supporting both sides of this debate. Personally I have done what MFP tells me as far as calorie goals, and I usually eat back some but generally not all of my exercise calories. I've lost 42 lbs in about 4.5 months. I'd rather do this and be satisfied than eat…
-
The time you eat doesn't matter. Late-night or close-to-bed snacking just means you're more likely to go over your calorie goals. If you are within your goals and hungry, by all means, eat.

This. All of it. Except I'm 125.

Right-to-work or employment-at-will certainly does NOT mean they can fire you for whatever reason they want. Many things have been carved out of this general rule...disability, age, sex, religion, etc. In addition, you cannot be fired for engaging in activities protected by the NLRA, such as discussing the formation of…

no. do what MFP tells you to. seriously. if 1200 was better, it would have told you 1200. do. what. mfp. tells. you. to. do. and. you. will. lose. weight. add me if you'd like. good luck.

18 m/o twin boys here, so yes, I can relate. Just gotta do it...

bumping in case anyone responds... i hear it's all case-by-case, everyone is different, blah blah blah...but it would be nice to know it does happen in real life :)

this is really tough. i think you would need to think carefully about what you say and how you say it. "i was as big as you once" probably wouldn't get you any points with most people. i agree approaching the guy alone would probably be best, but it sounds like that's not possible. i don't know...some people are just very,…

You'll get lots of different answers here. From "ONLY water counts as water and you MUST drink an ounce for every pound of body weight!" to "eh, water consumption really isn't all that important." You're better off doing internet research outside of a message board or asking your doctor. Or just try to drink a reasonable…

I'd also add that someone recently said something to me about it, mentioning that another someone had noticed and told them I was losing weight. She then congratulated me, etc. Her reaction was perfectly fine. But, that other someone (the person who told her) has never said anything directly to me. Also, he's a guy. Find…

Yeah, I work at a fairly big company and might go several weeks or a month without seeing different people...and I've noticed a few people kind of stare a bit too long, in a way I THINK they've noticed, but they don't say anything. So really it just kind of comes off as a bit weird/creepy. A couple people have said…

msn had a story today on the best "light" beers (if you like beer)...there were some on there with higher alcohol content that surprised me.

busy twin 18 month old boys! oye! (old) photo in my profile.

32...anyone feel free to add me if you think we'd be good pals...always looking for more supporters/ees...

me. MAYBE in my kindergarten picture i was "normal" size, but all downhill (or uphill?) from there. i went bungee jumping as a junior high-schooler and they have to weigh you, i recall weighing in at like 178...and that's honestly the last time i remember the 100's. and of course, that was extremely overweight for a 7th or…

I didn't think it would stick together unless you put other stuff with it...I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

just remember, if you classify your overall activity level based in part on how much you are exercising, you shouldn't also be logging that exercise. my understanding is that "activity level" does not include exercise, if you plan to log exercise.
-
this. don't completely deprive yourself of the things you love. just work them in, in moderation.
-
i had a friend, for a while, that would log 8 hours of "jogging, 5.0 mph" for her work shift. a) no, you didn't. and b) if you work on your feet, set your activity level to "active" and don't lie to yourself. i view exercise as a "you know it when you see it" type thing, and if you aren't sure, you should probably lean…
