I admit I do read the general forums occasionally just to remember what it was like out the "outside" I love these forums and what we do here just makes sense - mathematically and otherwise! Welcome Corrine

Make sure your macros are good and keep at it! Sounds like you have a lot of NSV's going for you!

Welcome! What is your estimated TDEE that you are working up to? Kelly

I see what you did there! hehe

Week 3 check in Goal: finding my True TDEE avg TDEE according to fit bit: 2350 Avg Calories eaten: 2650 (wow higher than I thought) No day under 2350 Weight: 196.8 ( Down 0.2 lb since starting) Last week (Wed- Sun) I was more active than usual due to a power outage, so I ate to reflect that, my original goal was 2350 per…

Positive side effects: No more Binge eating, I make myself eat more during the day (600 cals per meal when it used to bee 400 or less) and add in snacks if I feel even the slightest bit hungry. So when I get to night time (when I used to just gorge), I just eat the calories left for the day and that is almost always…

Redid the EM2WL Calculator and so far I think it is the closest - it puts me at almost 2500 cal per day TDEE - but that is really close to the average of what I have been eating (and not gaining) lately. Fitbit thinks I should be at about 2350 to maintain, but its really a 5% cut. Oh well guess I have to just keep looking…

Ok so after a few weeks of doing this I see that my fitbit is 100-200 lower than my actual TDEE. Does anyone know if there is a way to up this setting in the app? Not really necessary I would just like to see on target instead of over budget (hehe). @heybales I did discover that the MFP calculations are closer than what…

Thought for the day... I can eat a LOT of food and not gain weight. I have been slowly increasing my food to find my TDEE and my body just keeps going back down to the same weight. I upped my allowed calories in my journal to try and even out my daily consumption (instead of adding a bunch of calories after I exercise).…

So I have determined that it is probably my morning coffee giving me heartburn :( I didn't have it fri-sat-sun and no heartburn, back to work today with my coffee and heartburn! Might have to start having it with lunch... I did have lunch coffee on two of those days. Then again it might just be the K-Cup coffee - since the…

The temp thing is interesting - min runs about 97 ish. Maybe it will go back up with eating enough :)

@FaithSevio Yep lost it all and then some I tend to gain water on the weekends because I almost always eat out. It's usually gone by Wednesday. I think it is actually more from carbs/sugar than sodium though. I eat a lot of sodium normally with no issues.

Sounds like you are making great progress!

Yes I posted there - I just don't use Facebook every often, its too much of a mess for me. I tend to prefer forums :D

So in the past two weeks I have gained no actual weight (plenty of bouncing around!) my weight today was 0.1 pounds less than it was on Friday Feb 24. Going to go up 100 cals this week and see what happens. Heartburn has been an issue - but that may have been too much chocolate and coffee. the constantly stuffed feeling…

I did check there - first thing. Going to try for another email today.

Lol!! Do not try candy crush...

I can't seem to get an email to activate my account on the forums over there (asked them twice to send an activation email but nothing yet). Not sure what is up. So I can't post - only read. I am in the facebook group as well - I am not a facebook fan though I prefer the forum thread set up - Facebook is such a mish-mass…

He is talking TDEE not BMR

I agree with his numbers and his goals for you (losing weight/getting in shape without suffering is an wonderful thing). Speaking as someone who upped calories and found how amazingly energetic and satisfying my workouts became... I would go up to his recommended new level. Having more energy for workouts is incredible and…

pretty sure at 151 your TDEE is not 1380 LOL try this: https://tdeecalculator.net/

OMG I thought this was just me! On top of the actual sizing issues - I am also tall so finding jeans that fit and are long enough... nightmare city. I actually buy old navy - AFTER I go into the store and try on the equivalant regualr length to find the right size then I order them in long from the website. However right…

Thank you for the encouragement. And yes 400 used to be a meal for me too!

You might want to explore your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure), you are actually eating too few calories. If you use a BMR and TDEE your BMR is abvout 1800 calories - that means you would burn 1800 calories just lying in bed doing nothing. Your TDEE if you were actually sedentary,…

Welcome back! I am a newbie/newbie - so I love reading peoples stories and journey results.

Week one check in: Goal: finding my True TDEE avg TDEE according to fit bit: 2402 Avg Calories eated: 2316 Weight: 198 ( Up 1 lb since starting, but still going down from the big spike this week when I jumped my calories up by like 3-400 per day.) I actually ate more calories than I realized - I was shooting for 2150. I'm…

I am sitting here, had lunch about 2 hours ago and I am calculating how much more I still get to eat today since it's a workout day (with some extra activity this morning from a meeting) - and I realized my relationship with food is already changing. I did a bit of the ripping the band-aid off approach, but I had not been…

That works for me, this way on my workout days I can come home and eat as my body seems to want to do and on my other days I can just aim for 2000 ish give or take whatever my fitbit adjustment is. Eventually, once I have figured out my actual TDEE, I will probably just even it out for everyday, but I like this method for…

On a side note - yesterday my husband and I were talking about eating and I told him about what I have been doing and how much more energy and strength I already have. He said - well that's interesting because I have been noticing my fitbit says I have been burning 4-5000 calories a day and I rarely eat over 2500, but I am…
