  • Amazing work. Well done on your achievement. You look lovely. :)
  • I believe, and I might be wrong and thus flail around in a pit of forum shame, that the feed of the chickens is key. Apparently the general composition of the egg has been reworked slightly too. I don't know if this is fact, but it's nicely anecdotal and sort of interesting. Here's a link from a newspaper (not the best…
  • It does take more weight when you're starting from a higher weight, doubly so if you're tall. I think weight loss on the scale can take a few weeks or so to be visible on a person. I can lose on the scale and be the same in measurements/clothes, then I'll not lose much or stick on the scale and suddenly lose inches/find my…
  • Amazing work, well done. :)
  • Amazingly well done to both of you. You look amazing, more like 41 than 51!
  • Just read your story and I'm so happy for you and your new knees. I wish you luck with the surgery and a fast recovery time.
  • I can see the difference, you're doing fantastically. You're one awesome lady. I agree about the psychological changes too.
  • Don't often see other Boltonians around these parts. :) Congratulations on your coming addition. You look amazing, fantastically done on the weight loss. I have also recently found out I wasn't the height I was. I thought I was 5'4" and it turns out I'm 5'3". I'm glad that yours went the other way, being taller must be ace!
  • You've done amazingly well. I like your ethos too. :)
  • Thanks for the chuckle. OP, I'm still in obese land, sign me up when you make the group please. :)
  • You've done brilliantly. Looking good! :)
  • I had a look through your food diary and went back about a month (to 8th Oct). You're often logging 1300 and under on calories, sometimes with a lot of exercise. As a 21 year old male, I feel that you might not be eating enough day to day. The first month you will lose pretty well from that, but after a while it's common…
  • I get the evening munchies, so I tend to have a light lunch (I have a good breakfast!) so I can splurge a bit more in the evening. It all works out well. Maybe something similar might be useful for you?
  • I rarely look at anyone else's diary and mine is private. If my diary was open I wouldn't be honest with my food logging, so I keep it to myself and it's completely honest. If I had to share it with other people, I doubt I would have lost weight because I'd have been afraid of logging the truth. I find I'm accountable to…
  • Cutting back on processed meat might help, but probably not. Eat well, hit your macros, lose weight if you need to and exercise regularly. I think exercising regularly and eating well 80% of the time will do all you can lifestyle-wise.
  • I use quick-added calories for when I honestly have no idea and it's my best guess. After nearly a year of logging those guesses have become more accurate. There are still times where I eat out or at a friends/family house where I just want to enjoy and not worry too much, I can't turn off my internal calorie counter, nor…
  • I knew I was losing weight, but for me I didn't really physically see it in the mirror until I'd lost about 3 stone (42 lb). I'd gone down a few clothing sizes and I knew my measurements were smaller as well as the number on the scale changing for the better. Other people could see it much sooner than I did (around 28lbs).
  • Upping my fibre has helped long term, making sure I combine soluble with insoluble. Short term I've found probiotics help, but I don't know if that's just in my head. I take starflower oil to help with TOM stuff and since I started taking it my periods seem lighter and I have less pain. I've also lost a bit of weight so it…
  • I got dizzy in the first few months of dieting. I went to talk to my doctor about it and after all the tests came back fine, he said that I had probably cut my calories too severely, too quickly. He told me to up my calories for a while and see where I got to. I ate at around maintenance (just over possibly, because I…
  • The only thing I can think of that might help would be to get a food scale. When I first started I didn't use one and I did struggle to lose consistently. I thought using a teaspoon of something was fairly accurate, but it wasn't. I was out by miles. Once I started weighing food (mostly starchy carbs and butter/mayo/jam…
  • I feel the cold a lot more. It's something I hadn't ever considered, but I used to run overly hot and rarely wore a coat, now I'm the opposite. I'm sure I'll readjust as time goes on.
  • I know that I enjoy an evening snacking, so I save 200-300 calories for a light meal/snacks. I tend to not really be hungry around lunch time, so I have something light then to balance it out. (I'm much more about breakfast!) Finding what works for you is part of making the lifestyle change.
  • I've lost back size but not cup size. I've always had large breasts, even when I was much smaller. At some point they must get smaller, I hope! ;)
  • I weigh in the morning everyday, because I'm curious about the fluctuations, but I record my weight once a week. I can fluctuate around 3 on average in a week. Sometimes around 5lb if my salt intake varies a lot.
  • If you've had no lifestyle changes and suddenly feel very tired, I'd suggest you visit your doctor for some blood tests first. It could be all and nothing, but it sounds a bit like anemia.
  • You've done brilliantly. Well done.
  • Amazing, well done. :)
  • Is she gaining? Has she followed the 1500 calories her doctor recommended? Has she tried maintaining for a while to give herself a break? Or is she at a point where her mental health is sound and she's ready to progress? I'm sorry for asking these questions, but I wish to know your friend is in a safe place for the…
  • I regularly take an anti-psychotic and have been doing so for 10+ years. (Risperidone being one of the usual suspects) It is harder to lose weight on them, but not impossible. I'm on three drugs right now and all of them have moderate weight gain as a side-affect. I've lost three stone (42lbs) while taking them. For me the…
  • Yes, they can increase your appetite and depending on the drug they might have an impact your metabolism. I've found I can lose weight on them if I stick to my calorie goals, it's slightly harder, but not impossibly so. The hunger is often more pronounced on certain drugs. If you're reluctant to take medication, a course…
