I find it WAY easier with the app, otherwise you have to keep track of time yourself. I also find it WAY easier to do outside rather than on a treadmill, b/c it's so hard to stop and start on a treadmill. I'm on Week 2, Day 2. It's tough for me and I'll likely repeat this week a couple of times, at least. So don't get…

You're hot! Congrats! :)

I completed W1D3 yesterday - this week has been beauuuuutiful weather, so I've been doing it outside. It's been nice. I mean, trust me, 60 seconds is the longest I can run and I'm scared for next week. But it's been nice. Day 3 was definitely easier and I didn't have those "I want to quit" moments. Is anyone repeating W1…

I think this is realistic when you only have 15-25 pounds to lose. But, when you're like 50-100 pounds overweight and have never been in shape in your life, this just isn't a very realistic. My goal at this point is 60 seconds of running and that is hard. I stop, walk, and then do another 60 second spurt. The C25k App…

Thanks for allt he feedback, everyone. I do have running shoes that I had professionally fitted. I do run SLOW - I mean, old ladies doing a speedwalk at the mall would pass me :). And, I try to be light on my feet and have good posture. But, my calves are always crampy! I do stretch before, i eat enough potassium and drink…

Does anyone else have any ideas of food to eat pre-and post- workout. Not necessarily food you do eat, but food that is nutritionally OPTIMAL to eat. :)

I do have good shoes - I went and had them fitted at a running store. Before, my legs hurt like crazy after even a fast walk for 20 seconds. But, now it's much better. However, it's always the calves that makes me want to stop running and walk instead. They just get tight and really tired. I stop a few times and stretch…

I went to Fleet Feet and got shoes b/c I was having major leg cramps the second I started running and I'd have to stop tons and tons to stretch my calves. As soon as I got the shoes, they were gone! I spent $99, but when I got home I looked all over the internet (including Zappos) and they were the same price everywhere.…

I just happened to start C25K today, so I'd love to join the group! I use an app for my iPhone, which I found motivating b/c halfway through I sorta felt like stopping but then I remembered that if I completed it then it would post to Facebook and I'd get encouragement from all my FB friends. So, that kept me going. Now…

I have the same thing all the time b/c it keeps me way full (sometimes I accidently forget to eat lunch b/c I'm not hungry) and it's super tasty. Two eggs, scrambled (140 cals, cooked in 1/2 pat of butter, which is 18 cals) 1 serving of Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage. (80 cals) I don't have tons of time in the mornings, so I…

I mixed the chocolate in. Also, in that original thread, she said it makes 12. I did it and it made 23 and they were nearly full to the brim of the cupcake paper. So, for 23, it came out to 29 calories each.

I've lost 30 pounds and did so without a wink of exercise. Now that I've gotten that weight off, I'm starting to exercise some. But, I've read numerous studies that show exercise isn't really a significant contributor to weight loss. It's all about what you eat. Exercises is needed to keep help your heart, bones, muscles,…

FYI, I made this recipe and it was SUPER yummy and only took about 10-12 minutes with prep & cooking time.

This looks great, but I haven't tried it. Everything else on her site rocks, though: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2008/05/broiled-salmon-with-rosemary-6-pts.html

I weigh myself almost daily, but only record like once a week or every 2 weeks. Ir ealize that weight isa trend over time, not what it says on any given day. That said, I weigh myself just to learn about my body. I like to find trends - how much did salt intake impact my weight/body the next morning? How much does water…

My endocrinologist gave me metformin to regulate my periods and PCOS and it has made a lot of difference. Without taking it, it's hard for me to lose even a pound a week. When I take it, I am losing about 2.5 a week. And, this past week I switched to taking it in the evenings instead of mornings and I've woken up lighter…

I woudlnt log it as exercise. But, if you're on your feet caring for a toddler (I have one, so I know how much work it is) then I think when you do your calculator/settings that you should put that you should take it into consideration there.

SkinnyTaste.com has an almost identical recipe, but she doesn't use artificial sweetners. So, it raises the caloric value some, but I think it tastes better and is healthier.

Adding upon your list, tonight I got a container of Yoplait Greek Yogurt and added 1/2 a pack of hidden valley ranch mix. Super yummy, creamy ranch dip for about 150 cals for a 6 ounce container.) Dip veggies, pretzels, etc and a yummy snack :)

I order my chinese food and ask them to steam the meat & veggies instead of sautee it and to give me the sauce in a container! Then I can just dip or apply the amount that I want. I like this method b/c the veggies are way crisper b/c otherwise they've been sitting in sauce too long and get soggy! I'd avoid noodles - they…

Just a warning on the coupon. I was able to use them tonight at Stop & Shop, but when I went to Shoprite (because they didn't have the meatless meatballs) they woudln't accept them because the bar code didnt scan. At Stop & Shop the guy just manually entered it, but the Shoprite had some policy where they coudln't. Just an…

Try eating less meat - it's actually pretty expensive. Substitute beans.... Soups are usually cheap and not too expensive. Chili is a good for the winter!

Okay, so, I tried these. HORRIBLE. The best description I can give is that I felt as if I were eating what I imagine tape worms to taste like in consistency. Horrible. I literally gagged and I'm generally the type of person who isn't bothered by textures and who tries anything and everything. I'm not a picky person, in…

Take time to pause and ask yourself why you wanna eat... Are you really hungry? Try some fruit or veggies Is it thirst? Drink some water Is it boredom? Do an activity (read, movie, walk, play a game, etc) Is it emotional? Try journaling or talking to a friend.

We all have to do what works for us. And, not everyone has the same idea of "cheat days." When I used to diet (and failed), my cheat days would always be really bad junk food. Now, I just don't have much of a desire for junk food. So, I still have some "cheat" days occasionally, but that just really means that I allow…

I think we need to define "healthy." Just because something is low-calorie doesn't mean it healthy and just because something is higher calorie doesn't make it unhealthy. It's all about portion size because even too much health food won't help weight loss.

Try eating some of your meals vegetarian, like dishes with beans instead of meat. As other said, ground turkey is good. "Meatless" meatballs are delicious...

That queso dip looks fabulous!!

Log it and then move on, starting now! You've just messed up 1/365th of a year, that's it!! That's nothing. It's actually good for your metabolism to have a large calorie influx every once in awhile anyway. It keeps it guessing. Think of it that way :)

I love Skinny Taste!! I've made tons of recipes from there and it's all amazing and doesn't really taste diet at all. It's wholesome and yummy. I really am not a fan of Hungry Girl. It's all so processed and not really that healthy. If you are really craving junk food, then I suppose its' a better alternative than eating…
