I can't speak to the ability to lose weight, but my mom has been on Synthroid since I was about 3 (I am 41 now) and she has always has a great figure, and she isn't really a huge exerciser. Go in with the mental attitude that you will not gain tons of weight on it. Easier said than done, I know.

Hmmm. My FT4 came with a chest strap too. I think it would be odd to sell one without it. Is this a used item? That may make sense, then.
