My two cents... We want to create lasting change. Drastic & quick weight loss is usually not sustainable long term. We didn’t gain the weight overnight so we are not going to lose it overnight, either. I’m actually hoping to lose the weight slowly (but steadily!) because I don’t want my metabolism to slow down. I want my…

Add me! I think I’m funny. 😜 Been at this for 25 days - going well so far! Trying to make lasting changes to be healthy and fit even if that means my weight loss will be a little more gradual.

Add me if you want. Got 10 more to lose and looking to be fit & healthy in general!

I had my kiddo in March! (Now I have two under two). Feel free to add me. I’m working on getting fitter post baby and eating healthier (instead of mindlessly eating). 😃

I’ve done MFP in the past but just rejoined to lose the baby weight from having two kiddos within the past two years. Let’s encourage each other! Always looking for more positive & motivating friends.

OMG... I love food too! But I believe we can be healthy & fit foodies! I just started (again) too. Trying to lose about 16 pounds of baby weight.
-
Hey girl! Feel free to add me. My hubby and I used fertility treatments too. (They worked!) Keep the faith! You are doing a GREAT thing by trying to get as healthy as possible before conceiving.

Roasted kale chips are pretty yummy! Spread out chopped kale on a sheet pan — I line the pan with parchment paper so the chips don’t stick and for easy clean up. Toss the kale with a little olive oil & whatever seasonings you like and roast at 350 for 7-10 minutes. (They cook fast so keep an eye on them). I like my kale…

I’ve got the same issue. I going to try to only drink on weekend. I’m also going to try having a lower calorie drink instead of wine (like a vodka soda or rum & seltzer). I find that one glass of wine on the weekends sometimes turns into two or three which is a lot of calories.

Ditto! Let’s do this!

Hey there! I’m a mom of two under two and the stress of being a full-time parent has caused me to overeat and I’m not as healthy as I would like to be. Feel free to add me and we can encourage each other! I want to be a good role model too.

I am 5'2 and I would like to be between 130 and 135. I lift weights so I don't mind some muscle mass. I am not sure what my body fat is, though. Anyone able to recommend a reliable way to check? I am not sure my scale is reliable.

I love low carb tortillas. Just had a wrap for breakfast with an egg and cheese! Greek yogurt, fruit, and nuts is another fav low carb meal.

I make homemade pizza dough with wheat flour and flax meal -- it's way cheaper than takeout. Chili is a favorite inexpensive meal, as well. I also love eggs, onions, potatos, canned beans, canned tomatos and sauce, brown rice, pasta (just watch your portions), frozen veggies, etc. They are great cheap staples in my kitchen.

I love this!!

I was running into the same problem. I was having a really hard time maintaining 1200 a day. I work out about 4 times a week, as well. I just increased my daily calorie goal to 1390 and it seems to make a world of difference in terms of me feeling satisfied. I found that I was running into my old pattern of doing great for…

I'm with you!! I totally agree... at some point, I will have all these things in moderation. However, the empty calories in alcohol (especially wine) are totally holding me back and I've come too far to stop now. Would love someone with the same goal!

Thanks so much for the advice everyone... my bro's wedding is in two weeks. I'm going to ditch the alcohol until then, up my daily calorie goal from 1200 to 1390 (which will make me feel much more satisfied), and add in some extra workouts. I think with two weeks of eating clean and working out, I'll feel great. I can't…

Thanks so much! Awesome advice.

I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle. You are totally at a healthy weight and like the other posters said, toward the low end of the healthy range. I'm wondering if meeting with a therapist to work on your self-esteem might be helpful? Therapy can be a great place for learning about yourself and becoming the person you…

You might have to spend a few nights feeling hungry at night as you get adjusted to eating less. It stinks, but I'm finding that it goes away after awhile. I try not to eat anything after 8pm. I totally agree with the other posters - drinking tea, painting my nails, doing an art project, sewing, stretching, etc. all work…

I agree -- it is addicting in a good way! I would always fall off the wagon after losing a few pounds (get overconfident and start sliding backwards) but with MFP I keep moving forward even if I have an off meal or weekend here and there. It's good stuff! Feel free to friend me -- I'm always on the lookout for more friends…

I like baked potatos with chili, broccoli and cheese (you can usually find these in the frozen veg section), or black beans and salsa. You can bake the potatos ahead of time in the microwave and oven and then heat up at work. I also like greek yogurt with fruit, cereal or granola, and some nuts. (Pack separately and mix at…

I love non-breakfast foods for breakfast! I often eat leftovers from dinner. I'll have anything from pizza and pasta to a veggie burger along with a piece of fruit. I find that eating non-traditional foods helps me feel satisfied in the morning and often have the protein I need to get the day going. Like the other poster…

My original goal when I started MFP was to lose 5 pounds. I'm a shorty so those pounds come off slowly. I'm 5'1" and I was worried that my BMI was 25 (on the edge of being overweight) -- I'd like my BMI to be more like 23 or 22. The good news is that I am three pounds away from my goal and then I may set a new one then.…

I am so sorry about your mom. I want to tell you that joining MFP is a wonderful first step! We will support you and I think your goal is very reasonable. You can do it and we will support you! Don't give up.

My mother-in-law always sends us home with tons of leftovers and loads of Christmas cookies. I plan on freezing whatever leftovers I can into individual portions. I also plan on making my dear hubby keep the cookies at his office so he can eat them there to his heart's content! I'm also going to remember that Thanksgiving…

Here's what I usually eat: Egg sandwich: 2 slices smart white wonder bread (100 calories) 1 egg (70 calories) fried in pam 1 slice 2% kraft cheese single (45 calories) Sometimes I add MorningStar veggie sausage (70 calories for two patties) or a slice of canadian bacon or ham Piece of fruit (70 to 100 calories) & black…

I say eat your exercise calories! You earned them and working out 6 days a week is pretty darn active.

I met my now hubby at 29 and I'm 33 now. I'm so glad I waited. He's awesome and we're a good team! My advice would be to focus less on finding the right man and more on becoming the person you want to be. When I met my husband, I wasn't focused on dating at all -- I was taking improv acting classes, hanging with my…
