I lost 73 lbs in the first 6 months of just counting calories, eating better and exercising. I still enjoy my carbs, just in moderation.

You can do it. It just takes some determination to get healthy. I joined backed in August and by using this site and tracking what I am eating and what exercise I do I have lost 70#'s. One other thing I have found that has really helped me is to eat something small every 2-3 hours. It keeps the metabolism going through the day and seems to have worked really well for me.
