So inspirational! Stroke runs in my family, and I am a great candidate to having one myself the way I am (was?) heading. Thank you for sharing such a heart-felt and personal story.

wow... what's with all this "do it 100% or don't do it at all" stuff? Not everything in life has to be 100%... do you really do everything in your life 100%? What if 50% is also great? Do you save 100% of the money you could save? Do you keep up with friends 100% as well as you should? Do you give your work 100%, 100% of…

I totally get what the OP is saying in the original post. I am "big boned", and although I lost a bunch of weight once (from 260 to 190), it was extremely hard to keep it at 190, to the point that my life was miserable. I rebounded to around 210-220 and was there for a couple of years, feeling great but still "overweight"…

I am not sure I could do juicing, I would be too hungry. I need to fill my stomach with salad, etc... hopefully my stomach is gettign smaller... :-)

well, I am a social, late evening, night out kinda drinker, so what I have found is that when I go out and drink, the extra hours being up, talking, walking from place to place, etc, probably make up for the beers I drink. A trip to the IHOP on the way back will definitely kill any chances though... (IHOP salad at 2:30 AM…

I actually have this list on my weight excel sheet... just copied and pasted it: knee pain sleep apnea snoring high cholesterol high blood pressure clothes don't fit stretch marks Mind you, I have been working out all along too... For me, the ONLY way is to decrease food intake... MFP is awesome for that

I lost a bunch of weight before and gained it all back and then some. Same experience. The kudos when you are thinner are less than 5% of the "concerns" when you are bigger. I think it's a combiniation of things: 1. Those who have always been thin see it as the "normal" state. Nothing to discuss, you are just "normal".…
