So in all, you took in a net of 850 calories - granted that your exercise burn was close to actual. MFP is set up to give you a deficit without exercising. Eat close to your goal. Exercise. Eat at least half the exercise calories back.

Is vanity sizing a "thing" for men, too?

My December was full of weight gain. Why? I was sick for the entire month - cold, flu, sinus infection.. and because I turned 30, and, well Christmas happened. lol I ate at Maintenance, and sometimes above. I needed to fuel to feel better. Take a few days off of your 1200 a day diet (I get cold just thinking about eating…

Sure you would! You would just lie! If you're going to lie and stick around, then make sure you read up on how MFP works.

Fat doesn't make you fat.

Must be a record. This post hit 3 pages without referencing "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead"!!!

What kind of comp are you doing? You need to lose pure kilogram and not fat? What? This has nooooooo written all over it.

Take your breakfast with you? Eat after you get on the scale. It's different, yes, but if you keep everything the same (what you eat, drink, wear), the measurement will be consistent.

I had the Mirena placed a few days after I started here. It didn't prevent me from losing weight.

Um. I use aloe vera when I'm in the sun too long. Maybe that's why my arms look so skinny in the summer... B)

All of my calories have been delicious! ;) ;) Sorry, had to.. lol I net my goal, or close to it... so 17/1800, depending on the exercise.

In case this was missed. Seriously, the hypERthyroidism was probably the only thing that stuck out to me in all of the post.

Do you use a food scale for everything? Logging accurately will ensure that you are not eating more than you think you are. Eating 0.0689 piece of ice cream cake probably isn't accurate. If you are going to eat out almost daily, you are going to consume a LOT of sodium. The nutrition guide on a restaurant website can't be…

If you're just starting out, then follow MFP guidelines. You want to lose 15lbs, and you have a desk job. What is your life like after work? Stick with Sedentary, 0.5 pounds per week as a goal, and log exercise, and eat back half (MFP tends to overestimate) .. No need to complicate things while you're getting started!

Interesting to see the differences! We are a WTF school. The belts go: White Yellow Orange Green Green-Blue Blue Blue-Red Red Black Dans

Amazing!! I started at 228, and I'm at 165 now.. but look nothing like you. The joys of being short haha Fantastic work and dedication!! I was another one who didn't see the monkey, or the dog for that matter. Ah-mazing!! Congrats!

I'm not going to comment on the 3 programs mentioned, but I will speak to the lack of time - overnight oats! Make them the night before, chuck them in the fridge and then in the morning, eat - or nuke and eat! As well, a slow cooker for oatmeal, or slow cooker french toast works. Frozen breakfast burritos, breakfast…

LOL this is amazing. A Snickers day! Great post! I don't imagine I would want to eat 9 bars in a day, but I know what it's like to want to.. at least I know I won't blow up ahaha

If you don't think you are mentally strong enough to see something you don't want to see (maybe a smaller loss than you were planning), wait it out. If a weigh in will derail your progress, don't do it. If you lose the expectations (say.. 2 pounds a week, every week - that's not going to happen all the time!!), and just…

Usually, I have 1 slice of whole wheat toast with 15g of peanut butter, or whole wheat waffle with 15g of cream cheese/pb/nutella, or protein shake, or 1 egg, 1 slice of whole wheat toast with butter (measured but I forgot how much haha), or a slice of french toast with a tbsp of syrup., or yaknow .. bacon and stuff

Yeow! Looking good! Glad you were able to figure out your gluten issue!!

I have to agree with this. My son has anxiety at 9 years old. He's also been on stimulants since the age of 6. We had a trial recently where he came off his medication for a week to see if the medication was causing the anxiety. It wasn't. He said to me, mid-week "mom, I don't think the medicine is causing my nerve…

Ick! Milk in coffee?? haha I use International Delight .. right now it's Hazelnut, usually French Vanilla.. and I don't use sugar. If I have milk in my cereal or protein shake, I log it. That's up to 110 calories! I'd rather not just drink a glass of milk though. I do like almond milk in cereal and shakes though! FTR, I'm…

"probably gained a lb or 2" .. so you don't know? TOM coming? Have you pooped lately? Are your muscles sore? All of these things can mess with a scale reading. I will echo what most are saying, weigh and measure everything, log accurately, and eat half of your exercise calories back (if you aren't wearing a HRM - MFP tends…

If you couldn't stick with following MFP, the surgery won't be any better. MFP, weight loss surgery, they are tools. You make them work. I've heard of so many people who had lost a lot of weight, only to gain it back because they have a bad relationship with food. At 227, you may qualify by the Mayo Clinic's standard, but…

Are you counting your activity at work as exercise? If so, then you should bump up your activity level. Are you losing weight? Yes? Keep going. No? Unless you're wearing a HRM, then you should eat back 1/2 (ish) .. MFP does tend to overestimate some things. MFP has a deficit built in already., so you'd lose weight even if…

Permanent weight = organs, bones, tissue weight... any gains from overeating will not be temporary. Get on the scale, see where you are and then do what you did to lose it the first time!

15 years old, over summer break. We all went to a spot in the woods. I had Mike's Hard Lemonade in a bag, tied to a tree branch, in a brook to keep it cold.. LOL I'm pretty sure I had 2 before I was drunk. My friends even brought camping chairs. I sat in one and my boyfriend came along and sat on the arm of it. We both…

Based on your height and weight, it's entirely possible to burn more ... it doesn't seem insanely high to me.
