I've been at this for over 2 years. I was able to fend off his junk food runs, his need for take out, and the laziness.. up until this past December. I fell off, hardcore. I gained 20lbs since then, and now I'm back on the train, trying to get back to where I need to be. It's a struggle, that's for sure!

LOL I thought I was the only one picturing Mike Tyson!
-
OP said it was friends that were saying no, that's what I was addressing.
-
Will these people who say no to swimming, say yes to a run? Maybe they aren't as active, or can't swim. Or maybe they don't like their body in swimsuits.

Hi! I just joined this group, and I just ordered PiYo today! My hubby agreed this is a greeeeaaaaaattt Mother's Day gift! I'm excited to try it out when it comes in!!

Weight training = lift heavy (sorry, the way I read your response seems that you got the wrong message from it). You are dead-on, you are mid-40's, so weight loss will slow down. Eat for weight loss. Exercise for overall health. How about using other methods of measurement too, clothing, mirror, photos, measuring tape...…

You've broken your toe... on the floor

Beat me to it! hahahh I die every time. OP - How long has this been an issue? How do you feel? My son is having bathroom issues, so I am taking note of some of the suggestions.

Neither will help with weight loss. It will help flavor your chicken. Check the label on the back, work it into your calorie goals.
-
My body issues didn't disappear with the weight, unfortunately. I'm working on it, though.
-
Has anyone tested out this 'bullet proof' theory yet?

I used to set timelines. Now I'll be happy to hit my goal weight before I die. I've been at this for over 2 years now. I've been up and down (mostly down), I learned what works and what doesn't - for me. Saying I need to lose xx lbs by xxx stresses me out and I go the opposite way. I agree with the thinspo. Google it. You…

The jokes that my 5 year old think are THE best ever! "Wanna hear a joke? ... I fart you choke" followed immediately by "wanna hear another? ... I fart you smother" And this, ladies and gentlemen, is my dainty princess LOL

I can't love it. During the last 10 minutes of laying and connecting.. I was watching the clock thinking of the other things that I can be doing instead of laying there. It hurts too! I can't find a way to make downward dog comfortable.. at all.

This thread makes it tough not to crack up at work. LOL I love it!

10 minutes! (same city, and I'm Canadian, I measure distance in minutes   )

Does her membership fees keep the lights on? If she skipped a month, would he default on a loan? If he's considering ending his working relationship, let him. Is there other trainers there? Suggest she move to one of them.

I'm not a heavy lifter (some day.. sighhh), aside from a few at-homes sessions of Stronglifts.. But I think I would wear those socks everywhere I went! haha

My original goal was to lose 80lbs. I'm down about 60 of that. BUT I was close to 70lbs lost, but between illness, birthday, christmas, new years, I gained 10 pounds. I've lost 5 of THAT in the last week, just by getting back on track!

Fat won't make you fat (unless the calories put you above maintenance consistently). You seem to be a worrier - cholesterol in eggs, animal protein and kidneys, heart disease and cancer, fat levels. Just eat!
-
Bring on the naturally colored Smarties! You don't know the significance unless you live with a child who has violent reactions to food dyes. Instead of him being upset that his friends gets to eat candy, he can finally enjoy a box of Smarties now and then!
-
This was last winter. I've gained about 10 pounds back since then, but working on getting rid of it! (Down about 4 of those 10 now, yay!) I was around 60lbs lost at this point.

All personal preference. If you're starting out, try prelogging a day or 2, see how you feel with the way you spread things out. I will always suggest that, if you're sticking with 1200 calories, to log things before you eat it! 1200 doesn't last long!
-
1200 calories isn't a small cut.

I have always found that exercise slowed down the scale loss, but ramped up the inch loss. I've heard diet is for weight loss, exercise is for fitness and strength. Take measurements, use that to track as well as the scale. Pounds lost isn't the only indication of success! Good luck!!

When starting out, it's best to stick to what MFP tells you. Yes, the TDEE method is a great one, however, to avoid over-complicating things, just stick to what MFP tells you. Now, with that being said, if you are sedentary for the majority of the day (desk job - I have one too), make sure you set that to your activity…

Get a food scale. Weigh everything. Including the cup of cherry tomatoes.

Ugh I feel your pain!! About 2 years ago, I stubbed my big toe on a mat while at taekwondo.. and seriously broke my toe - it was so bad that the bone broke off, but it was sitting in place. It SUCKS. You never really know how much you use your toes! I am sending you well wishes for a speedy recovery!!!
