  • Like many others, i see so much of myself in what you wrote. Even your perspective is very similar to mine. But I also think you have the same self destructive thinking that I also fight. Allow me to explain before you bash me for being insensitive. :) I find all the logical reasons in the world why my success is elusive.…
  • We're so much alike it's eerie! My son is 6, his dad is in MD, and I'm in GA. He is kind of an only child - he's never grown up around a sibling. He has a half brother in MD. I've never heard of only child syndrome quite like that - and perhaps since I have a boy it's a little bit different. I think most everyone has grown…
  • Those are GREAT results - WTG!!! What I think is really awesome too is how much you seem to enjoy it and how much energy comes through in your posts. I don't feel like 30DS or even RI30 is enough by itself either - at least for me. However, when I'm knocking it out in the morning, I don't think my attention span could…
  • That looks great! Can't wait to try it!
  • Do y'all think revolution is worth the money??? Thinking about asking for it for christmas :)
  • I just started it today. Week one isn't bad, and it definitely is an improvement over 30DS IMO in that there are 3 30 second strength segments and not one 1 minute and one 30 second. Also felt good that she recommended doing it only 5-6 days a week and encouraged you to take at least one day of rest each week.
  • I went and did level 1 today so that I wasn't burnt out come Saturday (race day). I guess I had gotten overly confident, thinking level 1 would be a complete walk in the park. NOOOPE - it absolutely kicked my butt still. I would LOVE to be able to do this program for 30 days straight - I'm just not sure that I could. I…
  • Thanks for the great idea Christine! I've actually got a big race coming up this weekend, and had debated taking off friday from 30DS - but now I'm thinking I might give myself a "break" and just do level 1. I NEVER thought I'd get to the point where I'd call doing level 1 getting a break - but I think that's a fair enough…
  • Love it!!! Thanks for sharing!
  • Here's the link to the new group! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/9150-jm-support-group
  • I think that sounds like a FANTASTIC idea!!!!
  • Sometimes we just have down (or rather up) weeks.... changes in hormones, holding onto water, etc - all that can make the scale not budge at all. Just be confident in knowing that you are living healthier and improving muscle definition - so even if you don't see those changes in the scale people will see the difference on…
  • I also saw a difference in my back... my rolls weren't as pronounced lol Definitely looking forward to the next few weeks and seeing the final results. Plus looking forward to starting RI30! I might even attempt to do that one the whole way through without stopping! That should bring me right up to turkey day here in the…
  • I figured out how to post a pic!!! These are some jeans I couldn't even button up 31 days ago. Now I can! They're definitely still too tight to be seen wearing in public - but super excited about my progress in one month on MFP :-)
  • One final note.... I know it's tough. I handle mine obviously as a single parent as well - and at times it feels so UNFAIR. I have my son almost 100% of the time. I had to leave his father because he was verbally and physically abusive. Personality disorders run rampant on his side of the family - on my side there are…
  • My son is not diagnosed autistic. He may not be autistic at all. His half-brother (his dads other son) is moderately autistic. My son is 6 years old, has been kicked out of two pre-k's, suspended from kindergarten several times, and this year has been suspended a couple times from After School. He sees a pediatric…
  • Surprisingly it's those V things. Having to do the military press then the V's KILLS my arms. That's the only exercise in this whole series so far that I have done without weights. When I previewed level 2 I didn't think those would be that difficult. What I thought would be the challenge was the walk out push ups. I'm…
  • That last circuit is absolutely killer - and is the reason I think I hate level two SOOOO much. To go between the military presses and then those dreaded "V" things leaves my arms BURNING - even if i do the "V" things without any hand weights at all!!!.... and then she wants me to do plank jacks??? I have aspirations that…
  • I went into this weekend having every single intention of doing 30DS both days. And why knows - I may suck it up and pull it together and do it tonight - but it's looking VERY doubtful. I've got a 15k coming up in 3 weeks so we decided to get out there and run/walk 9 miles this morning to get a measure on how fast our time…
  • I finished day 1 this morning of level 2 - and it was definitely tough - though not quite as bad as I was scared it might be. Definitely felt like I could collapse on my face after that "V" move from HELL. I did better with the plank moves than I thought I would. The cardio was tough and definitely requires a lot out of…
  • I think that's a great idea! I ordered Ripped in 30 and the legs dvd... but after reading what y'all wrote thinking about getting the abs video and setting up a schedule of the abs & legs
  • Uuuugh. I start level 2 tomorrow, and I think it's Safe to Say I'm Sufficiently Scared. (quite the alliteration in that sentence - lol) I took a sneak preview this morning and it does NOT look easy. I think what I've enjoyed about level 1 is I've felt the first circult was hard, but knew if I made it through that one the…
  • I wouldn't worry about it - focus on getting better first. This is about being HEALTHY :-) I took SIX whole days off... so if Jillian will forgive me this, I'm going to quote Tony Horton (P90X) - just do your best and forget the rest :-)
  • SOOOO thankful for this group.... cause if it weren't for ya'll I would not be forcing myself to do this video right now :)
  • I'm glad you said that! I've noticed the same thing.... perhaps it's about misconceptions... I know you will burn more calories doing resistance training than you would cardio (better afterburn and increase in muscle which increases RMR) - so for that reason it's encouraged. BUUUUT - my personal opinion is that for overall…
  • Hmmmm.... I'm also struggling to see how intensity has nothing to do with it. If you did the same exercises, same video, same weight, same INTENSITY - then yes, as you lost weight you would slow down calorie burn. That I can agree with. But if you ramp up your intensity because losing weight has allowed you to do so, and…
  • Soooo glad you decided to jump in and join - sounds like you're pretty much right there where most everyone else is. I've REALLY enjoyed this group - it's definitely helped to keep me motivated :-)
  • No worries Laura - there are a few of us stragglers who are right there with you! I missed this morning - wanted to get some extra sleep (STILL fighting this congestion and it SUCKS)... but planning on finishing up day 8 of level 1 tonight. Will start level 2 on Friday. Do you know what day you are on level 1?
  • One thing I love about this site is that if you browse through the success section of the communnity message boards - you are guaranteed to find someone who used to be in your current position in some form or another and who has successfully lost weight. You can do it - and this site will help. There are wonderfull people…
  • I've been a single parent in GA for the last 5 years - so I definitely know some of what you're feeling. I also have my son almost 100% of the time - his dad lives 700 miles away. There are definitely some jerks out there, but what surprised me ultimately was how many selfish people there are out there. I DEFINITELY became…
