Are Pork Rinds really ok? I've read mixed messages on this. Is there a good authoritative resource on this one??

@kpk54 you were absolutely right! I, too, thought something was off but @Sunny_Bunny_ comment made me think, "hmmm". I went back and re-tooled the recipe and, for some strange reason, the salt entry wasn't calculating right. I deleted the one I chose, added back in another, and poof! - it's fixed. Now when I edited this…

CNN picked it up as well...http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/03/health/low-carb-low-fat-diets/index.html?hpt=hp_bn13

Thank you for the directions! I can't believe I didn't know this.

I'm sorry but I'm missing something. Where in MFP can I enter all the ingredients for a recipe, tell it how many servings the recipe makes, and have it do all the macronutrient division for me on each serving? It would be WONDERFUL if it's here and I'm just overlooking the obvious.

The hardest part is trying to eat all the fat you're supposed to. We've been conditioned to think fat is really bad and now that we're allowed to eat it, we can't figure out where to get it! It's the strangest problem to have. Definitely agree with watching Fat Head. It took me 3 weeks to hit ketosis. But lost 9 lbs in…

Thank you!

Looking forward to having that experience with my sister! :-)

I'm 5'1" and 164 lbs. I need to lose at least 35 lbs. I'd love to join!

I highly recommend increasing your protein and reducing your carbs so that both come in closer to each other. And the carbs that you're eating aren't the best. Also, I agree with the other posts about reducing the sodium. A few adjustments and you'll be pleasantly surprised in just a couple weeks!

Had some challenges this last week that kept me down.

Here's my update: SW for October: 159 GW for October:153 CW for October: 157 4 more to go!

Had to go to a conference and totally threw me off. I'm still determined to make it!

I, too, cancelled mine a couple months ago. Not only did I want to focus on calories but also the balance of carbs to protein to fats. I like it much better on MFP! Feel free to add me as a friend too!

3 miles today!

Also would love to add some 40+ friends for mutual motivation through the challenge!

Count me in! This is my first time and it looks like 50 is the magic number.

great visual aid!

I like this approach! Thank you!

You just gave me a great idea! When going to Home Depot or Lowes for supplies, first do a store walk like you describe above THEN do the shopping. More steps! I also like this idea when traveling.

I did a post yesterday under the Exercise group re: hotel room exercises. Go to that post. There were lots of great suggestions and links! As for food, I have the same challenges, especially during business dinners. But here are some tips: Take healthy protein bars with you. Get hotels with microwave/fridge in room, find…

Thanks for all the great suggestions everyone!

I've read that some have success with varying their calorie intake so that there are several days of lower intake followed by a day or two of higher intake and so on. This seems to snap some people out of plateau mode.

I, too, am a coffee-holic! This sounds yummy! I don't want to go to the trouble of making coffee. Wonder if any of the instant coffees would work?

You are my new hero!!!!! You've got to be sooooooo proud of yourself!

You only ate 1 sandwich today? Don't take this wrong - are you taking any diet pills like phentramine? They can curve your appetite so much that you don't realize you're body is really in need of food. You should really eat every 4 to 6 hours. Don't try to consume those 1100 calories all at once. You'll be miserable. Drink…

Wow! When looking at your new pic, I see a strong, confident woman. Great job!

I'm staying around 100g a day. That's not considered low by diet norms but, as you can see by many on the post, some people would consider it low. Men require more than woman - typically. And activity levels also dictate the amount of carbs one can consume while losing at a reasonable rate. There are bad carbs and good…

You'll want to look at the calories, fat, carbs, and protein level just like any other food. Many of these bars are intended for those that are burning off the fuel via some intense exercising. Typically not geared for those of us that aren't quite at that level. I recommend EAS Carb Control or even Atkins bars if you're…
