Gawd!!!! That sounds incredible! I am going to have to try that. What do you do, put a stick inside yogurt and freeze? I am craving one already :) I have a feeling you are a desert genius!

Hey Bigguy, those numbers do not sound out of the ordinary for someone who is large and assuming you are pushing along at a good clip. Typically on my elliptical I burn about 450 calories per half hour. I go at an average of about 175 strides per minute (range 160 - 200) and I weigh 256. The more we weigh, the more…

Try speed walking...believe it or not the fast paced walking firms the abs while also working your hips and thighs. I was just reading this morning on Denise Austins website about "pleis" or "plies" the ballet exercise which is basically a variation on squats.

Hi Melissa, Give it time...your body will adjust. Before changing lifestyles...(not dieting) I consumed closer to 3,000 calories per day. Now, even when I exercise I am satiated with about 1,900 calories. I am on a temporary medical restriction about exercising so I am reducing my caloric intake to 1,670 calories per day.…

Sounds like you are actually doing quite well. It is very difficult to be inline with sodium, carb, fat, etc. targets each day. I think the general reality is we shift our lifestyles and diet to "average" our goals over time. For instance, one day you may have too much sodium but the next you are under...etc. etc. You are…

Thank you for sharing, I needed a little motivation this morning and you provided it perfectly!

Welcome noseovertail, This is a great place to stay motivated! We all have our ups and downs but MFP keeps me going on my "long distance" quest of 95 pounds! See you around the site.
-
I have about 90 pounds to go! It seems a daunting task, would be nice to share with others who have lot's of pounds to lose...please add me! John
-
Great story! You have really been on an adventure with your weight. Congratulations on the success you have had, I think you will find myfitnesspal.com (mfp) a great site for staying pumped. See you around, John

You are obviously having a very tough time right now. It sounds hollow but truly you KNOW you will feel better some time in the future. The speed with which you do feel better will be determined in large part by when you rejoin your future desires and goals to your present life. Right now, you sound like you are putting…

How exciting!!! I dream of a day when I can run again...what a wonderful achievement you are about to make! Congratulations!!! The only advice I have to offer is...finish the run!
-
I love that feature also, very simple thing...yet very motivating! Thanks MFP programmer!
-
Thanks, I will have to take a look.

Well, looks like you are right in line for achieving that incredibly impressive goal of 34 for 35! You bring up a great point with your favorite jean jacket. I don't have mine, but I will certainly look forward to buying a new one when I lose my weight! Won't be the same of course, but it will still be mighty sweet. I was…

Hey Sam, You are at the beginning of a wonderful adventure...getting fit for life (I presume). That means you will enjoy life so much more by having more positive energy, better health, and just plain feeling good! Best of Luck, John

Hi Virginia, It is always tough to change one's lifestyle. Ease into it if you must, but jumping in with both feet is better. Pay attention to what you eat...that is why the myfitnesspal.com daily journal is so useful. You can really focus on your real caloric intake and your exercise 'routine'. Eat low calorie foods,…

Unfortunately, I suffer from sleep apnea, although as I lose weight it seems to lessen. They say that apnea causes weight gain...

Hi becca117! Welcome back and good luck! Exercise, exercise, exercise! And simply enjoy life.

That is absolutley AWESOME!!! Congratulations! You are a true inspiration for the rest of us. Thanks,

You will probably find that you need a scale that measures in smaller increments for adequate food measurement. For instance, there are 16 ounces per pound and 28 grams per ounce. We often see measurements in grams...so you can see the problem with a scale that only goes down to the pound... :)

I tend to be a compulsive eater...so I eat whatever I find handy. Therefore, I have placed bags of baby carrots, radishes, celery and fruit like apples, oranges and pears at easy reach. When I go to the office I bring a small six pack cooler loaded with those items. That has made it easier for me to be "good". I also…

If you think about it, there are quite a few calories to take in while not filling your stomach. Imagine how many radishes, celery, carrots, etc. you could eat that would actually satisfy your hunger...

My Wii was the opposite, it was a little heavy compared to my home scale. What matters is the change from day 1 through day 1+X. I really enjoyed the Wii and probably will get back to it soon. I injured my back, nothing serious, but couldn't do the Wii for a while. I have been working with an Elliptical machine and weight…

I know how you feel, I had a "blow out" day a couple days ago...sausage, bacon, and donut for breakfast!!! then fried chicken and such later. Later, when I thought of the days binging, I realized that what was now important is what I do from then on. I could give up and go back to eating and being unhealthy...or, I could…

Hi Mandee87, What concerns me is that you have trouble with your knees. Walking will probably be fine...but I am not so sure about running...at least right now. I would suggest that you begin a steady walking program, perhaps a 1.5 to 2.0 miles per day. What you really want to look for is being aerobic for at least 30…

I have used yogurt, Dannons Light & Fit Vanilla that I add berries and fresh ground cinnamon to, as a replacement for ice cream. I will have to try putting them in a blender and making a smoothie. Do you add any other liquid?
-
That does sound good, I am going to have to try that. Thanks

There is a big difference...you don't even look like the gal in the former picture. Brings up a point I was wondering as I sit here at 267 going for 170...about driver's licenses and other picture id's. You should probably consider getting new ones as you no longer look like the heavier you.

That is incredible! Thank you for the inspiration that I needed today. You are really a winner!
