I figure I'll continue to fluctuate up and down by 2-3 pounds and then continue to lose about a pound a week after Christmas until I hit my goal of 6 more pounds down. Then I'll maintain for a bit before trying my first ever bulk!

I agree with tigger that you need to log everything you eat. Once you see what it contains it will help to motivate you to say "no" more often. Our building has a fitness center and then we are also next to a great trail. I walk or use the elliptical during my 15 minute breaks at least once a day, but I shoot for both breaks. Then I do Insanity workouts during lunch and strength training in the evenings on MWF.

This weekend will be especially hard for me so maybe we should... Saturday through Monday AND at least 8 cups of water!! It doesn't have to be a snack, you can have your vegetable as a side or incorporated in your entrée for any of your meals.

I'm not sure what kind of fitness level everyone is at but maybe we can have some kind of fitness challenge. I know my weakness in the kitchen is getting a serving of fruit and a serving of vegetables daily. Maybe a challenge like that for 3 days straight?

If you want a high protein/low carb meal a lettuce wrap is awesome! Just watch for that sodium content with the soy sauce! :smiley: I found a recipe online, because homemade are so much healthier!

I'm game!! I've been working on the stronglifts 5x5 and was just shifting into ice cream fitness when a shin splint struck!! So I've cut back my calories while I recuperate. Then I'm gonna hit it hard again. I've got to work on the hips, gluts and abs.

Cardio won't do anything for toning. Your best bet is go with lifting. Get the barbell and several plates to increase the weight as you succeed.

I too end up spending more time at the grocery store because of labels, but for me it's also the carb, protein and sodium content.

The first day I started counting I went to Sonic for a small shake...over 800 calories!! That day was totally shot! LOL. Now if I have a shake craving I make it at home so I know what goes in it and it's only half the calories if that.

I just found out about another program called "Ice Cream Fitness". It's Stronglifts 5x5 on steroids (just kidding -it's just 5x5 with some extra exercises). I'm going to be implementing this into my routine!
