Welcome Bethstika. Best of luck on your journey to a new you. I am a 3 year sleeve veteran but I recently had a revision to a sadi-s. also known as a sips or ds loop. feel free to add me. :)

Congratulations on your surgery date! I just had surgery on aug 30th. Re-sleeved with added sadi (intestines re-route). you got this!
-
I had my revision surgery on Aug 30th (sleeve reshape plus intestines reroute). I'm doing well on the clear liquid phase but I am very ready to move to the full liquids. feel free to add me if you'd like!

liquid temperatures can affect you as well just after surgery. I find I can't do super cold drinks (i'm 9 days out of my revision surgery, my first sleeve surgery was in 2015) I find I do better with room temperature or warm liquids.

I'm doing well, also 9 days out from surgery and feeling a little better everyday. The weight has finally started moving in the down direction. I go back to work (office sit down job) on monday. HW 199 SW 193 after surgery 196 CW 189 GW between 130-150? I'm able to get my protein and at least 60 oz of liquid most days, I…

I have 2 more days on my liquid pre op diet for surgery. I am allowed yogurt, 1 clear protein shake (no milk) per day, chicken broth, sugar free jello and sugar free popcicles. My hunger isn't so bad but my head hunger is terrible. I just want to chew something. almost at the finish line.

Hello, I am getting revised to the SADI (also known as SIPS) at the end of this month from a sleeve (basically just doing the intestine re-route portion.) I started tracking and blogging on MFP.

I am also up 14 lbs from my lowest recorded weight. I never quite reached my goal and am at 2 years out. bad snacking habits snuck back in. starting to log again and am following a LCFH diet.

I got off track yesterday (my second day and I cheated with potato chips ><) All I can do is brush myself off and keep going. I can make this work!

I am - just started the process and I do not pay for premium MFP. Here is what I did (via browser, things may be different in the phone/tablet app) Go to Home > Goals > Daily Nutrition Goals > green Edit button I set my calories, Carbs, Fat and Protein. My settings (adjust to your needs) cal 1500 Carb 5% - 19g (this seems…

The elliptical machines seems to put less pressure on my knees but instead of running could you walk at an incline? Some treadmills can be changed so you are walking up an incline, believe me it gets your heart rate up without that jarring impact that running does to your joints.

I chose the sleeve from a standpoint of having a lower amount to lose (about 100#). Not having as much worry about malabsorption although both surgeries require vitamin supplements for life. I was worried about the reroute of the intestines and having a detached stomach portion just floating there. Some have better luck…

Lots of water. Make sure you are getting in at least 64oz a day. How much protein are you consuming? I think the minimum recommendation for most is 60-80g a day.

I was mostly a t-shirt and jeans gal. While I still wear mostly jeans I'm finding I'm branching out to more then just t-shirts for tops. I still shop mostly at second hand stores since buying clothes is very expensive but I'm finding a lot more cute and interesting options at the size I'm at now (med to large depending on…

I empathize! I had so many stalls through my process that drove me crazy. Now 14 months out it feels like I won't lose anymore yet I still have 20 lbs I want to get rid of. I seems hypocritical but try to not focus on the numbers. If you aren't losing lbs try putting the scale away for awhile and just focus on doing what…

I am about 14 months out and down 90 lbs. I still think of myself as a larger person. I still fight to control the old eating habits. I was folding my laundry the other day and it blew my mind that I could fit into the jeans I was folding. They looked so small. I had to put them on just to assure myself that yes, these are…

I think tracking your food is a good start. That way you can really see where the calories are coming from and the nutritional breakdown and make adjustments from there. Focus on protein and water, add more vegetables, stay away from processed carbs and added sugar. Calorie amounts are a very personal choice, but I…

ball squats, lunges, bent over rows, biceps curls, pushups, planks and superman. all can be done at home and rely on body weight. I try and do these while watching TV to distract myself from the fact that I am working out. Otherwise I use the elliptical at my work's gym and I go walking on my breaks.

you can also add a couple teaspoons dry sugar free pudding mix to greek yogurt. my favorite was the cheesecake pudding mix and plain greek yogurt. tastes like dessert!

www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender/videos They have a lot of great free short strength workouts.

Karajo, do you need chewable vitamins recommendations? I took the celebrate chewable, which have the consistency of a starburst. can't say I liked the flavors but I was able to tolerate them long enough to be cleared to take pill vitamins. Now I take a women multi from a brand called rainbow light. As for protein powder. I…

I was lucky in that my surgical center did not require liquid only for my pre op diet. However it was very low carb. I was allowed lean meats and veggies, staying under 40g of carbs a day, no sugar. The point of the pre op diet is to shrink your liver to make the surgery easier and safer. The more weight you lose at the…

Have you tried freezing yogurt? or protein shakes? I made an orange flavored protein shake blended with a few frozen peach slices and stuck it in the freezer for a few hours, while not quite ice cream it was a bit like a sherbert. helped satisfy my sweet tooth plus get my protein in. I haven't tried putting it through the…

agreed! I have a 2 year support program through my surgical center which has been a great help. Nutrition support, fitness instructions, psych evaluations, regular blood work to check my vitamins and doctor visits. etc. plug finding great support groups on MFP and Facebook.

Hi Saralyn. I started at a little higher then the weight you are now. I had the sleeve 1 year ago and have lost 80 lbs. The sleeve did not make me thin but when I compare my stats and pictures I feel I am at a "normal" size. From a size 18/20 pant to a size 12. XL tops to a medium. I have some loose skin but nothing that…

I had several bouts of random depression over the first 8 months after my surgery. I chalked it up to my hormones being messed up from the weight loss. It got better when I exercised regularly (or maybe when my rapid weight loss tapered off). Hope you can get assistance soon. You are worth it!

Sending healing thoughts. First 5 days are the worst but it will get better everyday!

So I attempted to make a protein fluff last night with poor success. I was out of my vanilla protein powder so I used unflavored injury with milk, 1/2 banana and 2 TBSP PB2. It came out with very weak flavor and honestly just not good, I could actually taste the protein flavor. I chalked it up to the banana and PB2 not…

Try getting back to basics. Dense, lean protein first, then veggies and small amounts of whole grains and fruit. Avoid processed foods or limit the amount. As for how many calories I would calculate your TDEE and then subtract about 500 calories a day from a combination of diet and exercise (probably best not to go too low…

I get hung up on the numbers too Thaeda. I've lost 80 lbs (1 yr out) but still worried over those last 20 lbs or so. Though I think working on losing that weight is probably easier then learning to maintain and not having a clear goal to work towards.
